Nan Yaoquan noticed his displeased gaze and smiled indifferently, extending his hand toward him. “Whether you come to me voluntarily or I catch you, the result will be the same. The only change will be the treatment when you go back will be different. Think it over.”
Su Baiche’s body trembled uncontrollably, and a cold frost filled his eyes.
Once again, he felt this feeling that he detested. If only he were stronger, how could he be controlled like this!

(1) – Perhaps now would be a good time to mention in case anyone does not know, but Daoist Jianzhen is Ye Bingran’s Master’s formal title. Kind of like how Immortal Shen -> Shen Liuxiang, Demon Lord/Venerable -> Nan Yaoquan. His title can otherwise be translated as “Sword True Immortal”, but I felt like the titles were getting too wordy for readibility so this was more appropriate.

It’s probably because SBC targets him? Kind of? Like he’s being (forced by Tong Xi to be) a white lotus right? And so far, the person who was harmed by all his white lotus act was the OriMC who now is MC and has to take care of all this mess, the hatred, disdain, blatant disrespect, etc. Being the victim from a white lotus act is truly discomforting, especially when the MC did no wrong, in a way he was basically triggered again and again to go insane, or maybe it has something to do with the world as a whole? They said something about the Heavenly Dao being on those sh*its’ side?
I actually also like SBC. It’s so funny that he can’t act prickly and mean bec of his persona.

Dude, Tong Xi has literally threatend Su Baiche to act like an unrealistic angel. Su Baiche probably had little willingness to do with the MC going insane. If anything Su Baiche seems to prefer straight up murder and done rather than slow mental torture like Tong Xi.

I love seeing how my fellow readers are so vested in this novel. I’m sitting in the sideline munching potato chips (not fond of melon seeds- too troublesome).
SCB is a funny dude, and I’m also okay too with letting him be a terrible person 🤣 but I would never like him and I couldn’t defend him because I love SLX okay lol. And for those wondering why the MC behaves “terribly” (actually, he’s only been a little mean to SBC since he transmigrated) to SBC, haven’t you all realized it’s just to resolve doubts about SBC that the novel didn’t answer? For example, when SLX gave SBC that soup that obviously tasted awful, but SBC didn’t show any disgust upon tasting it, the MC wondered if SBC was actually a great actor or a genuinely good person. Leaving aside the question of whether or not the MC is evil towards SBC, the MC has simply wanted to survive in this world that has been shown to be against him (but with everything he’s shown us, it seems SLX was quite favored a long time ago, though this was never shown in the novel the MC read).
