PCMWF Chapter 190

He Also Wants to Be Youyou's Pride

Pei Qiqi was curious about filming commercials, but he didn’t want to waste his weekends. After his aunt said filming would sacrifice weekends.

Pei Qiqi’s cool face turned. He slid off the sofa, hands on Hua Zhao’s knees. “Auntie, can I not go?”

Hua Zhao: “Of course. You have the right to refuse.”

“But can Auntie ask why?”

Pei Yi, legs crossed, biting an apple, raised an eyebrow. “What else? Youyou comes to play every weekend, all day.”

Weekend playdates were a fixed routine.

Hua Zhao was speechless. She patted his head. “Okay. If you don’t want to, you don’t have to.”

That weekend, the two little ones woke up, ate breakfast, and gathered with their toys. Su Youli was accompanied by the pink-nosed Su Yuanzi. It was cold now, and the little guy was bundled up like a dumpling when walking the dog. Tang Dou dressed him in a cream-yellow down jacket with white fur on the hood. His light blue pants looked puffy from two layers. Pei Yi, home watching the kids and doing chores, laughed at the sight. The little dumpling was so small, struggling to walk, bouncing like a ball when running.

“I can’t, my stomach hurts from laughing.” Pei Yi, in his apron with a spatula, laughed to tears.

The two little ones outside heard the loud laughter, stopping to catch their breath, confused.

“It’s fine, keep playing.” Pei Yi opened the kitchen window, shouting.

The two little ones ran off.

Tang Dou washed vegetables. “Tsk. You’re so childish.”

The man called childish shrugged, glancing outside while cooking. Seeing the cream-yellow ball, he was so charmed he burned the food. After lunch, Tang Dou called the two and the dog back. In the Pei family bathroom, two small stools, one blue, one yellow. Obvious which belonged to whom. The two little ones dried their hands and came out, hearing footsteps at the door. It was Hua Zhao, with Wang Shilan and Niu Niu.

“Youyou, Qiqi.”

“Niu Niu!”

The three little ones hugged, holding hands and spinning. The three could sit at a table. Pei Yi took small plates, portioning food, letting them eat separately. Soon, the dining room split into two areas. The three little ones sat on small stools, their bowls on a small round table, grinning at each other, eating obediently. After lunch, Wang Shilan called Pei Xu over. The child was young, not understanding the benefits of endorsing a national children’s brand. He just didn’t want to sacrifice weekend playtime.

“Filming commercials is fun. Don’t you want to try?” Wang Shilan coaxed.

Smart children were curious about the unknown. Pei Xu was no exception. But thinking of being separated from Youyou made him sad.

Hua Zhao laughed. “Not separated. We film during the day, back in the afternoon.”

Niu Niu blinked. “Mom, why isn’t Youyou filming?”

Wang Shilan had invited Shen Yan and Su Youli, but Shen Yan’s agent refused. The recent “sasaeng incident” cast a shadow on the Shen family. She had a child too, understood.

“Brother Qiqi, going to film a commercial?” The little guy, in kindergarten, was growing fast, understanding Auntie Wang.

Wang Shilan smiled. “Brother Qiqi isn’t going yet.”

As the brother of a popular actor, the little guy knew filming commercials was amazing. On TV, he saw his big brother, even on his favorite cartoon channel. Each time, he’d stand and bounce on the sofa. At kindergarten, he’d boast to Class 5. His big brother filmed many commercials. So amazing! The little guy’s admiration made the silent Pei Qiqi pause.

“Youyou, if I film a commercial, I can’t play with you.”

The smile on his face instantly disappeared. “Ah, why?”

Although he had no experience filming commercials, Hua Zhao and Pei Yi had taken Pei Xu to a few shoot locations before, to help train him. In Pei Qiqi’s memory, filming commercials was a very tiring thing. Several times he had been so exhausted he fell asleep, and when he woke up, his aunt was still filming. But he really wanted Youyou to be able to see him on TV. Next time he showed off, he could brag that his best friend had filmed a commercial too. He also wanted to be Youyou’s pride. After hearing Brother Qiqi’s explanation, the little guy’s first reaction was, ‘So filming commercials was this tiring.’

Then he opened his arms and hugged Brother Qiqi, his voice carrying a smile. “Brother Qiqi, I’ll keep you company.”

Since Brother Qiqi didn’t have time to play with him, then he would go keep Brother Qiqi company. Pei Qiqi’s eyes went wide. And so, Su Youli became Brother Qiqi’s first loyal little fan. After going home, he solemnly told his mom, dad, and two big brothers about it. It was good for a child to go take a look and see a bit of the world.

A week after signing the endorsement contract, Pei Qiqi held the little guy’s hand and walked into the shoot location. The studio was decorated dreamily and playfully, the background clean and warm. Compared to the quieter shoot locations of the past, today’s studio was a bit livelier. The Treasure Hunt Team was reunited in a place that was very novel to children. The first second Mi Le saw his three little friends, he rushed out, happily wiggling his body. He and his brother had arrived at seven in the morning and had already finished the first group’s shoot.

“Brother Lele, you look great.” The little guy gave a thumbs-up and praised him.

Unlike usual, Lele, who had his makeup and hair done, was restricted in his movements. He didn’t dare shake his head, didn’t dare sit on the ground casually. He stood stiff and proper, and actually looked quite the part. Praised, Mi Le immediately stopped feeling tired. He grinned and reached up to touch his hair, feeling a bit shy. Both Qiqi and Mi Le were filming a commercial for the first time, but the shoot went very smoothly. Both little ones wanted to show off in front of their little friends, so their attitudes were especially serious.
