AMBTICBPIB Chapter 49

Chu Yi, this isn't actually a watch...

Gu Jin’s words helped Shen Jin clarify some things. What Gu Jin said made sense.

Chu Yi himself was still naive and clueless, likely unaware of what romantic feelings even were, having never experienced them or been taught about them.

But that didn’t matter. Shen Jin would teach Chu Yi slowly. The most important thing now was to make Chu Yi understand that his feelings for him were different from those he had for others.

He resolved to confess to Chu Yi again, this time clearly and explicitly telling him that he liked him—liked him immensely.

When they returned to the villa, Shen Jin took Chu Yi’s hand as soon as they got out of the car and led him upstairs, saying he had something important to tell him.

Chu Yi rarely saw Shen Jin so serious. His expression was unusually solemn, making Chu Yi feel that whatever he was about to say must be incredibly important.

Seeing him like this, Chu Yi couldn’t help but feel nervous. His heart slowly pounded its way from his chest to his throat.

He nervously fidgeted with his fingers, but his face remained calm, his voice deliberately light. “What did you want to talk about?”

Chu Yi sat on the bed, his large eyes fixed on Shen Jin with an expectant gaze, as if the matter concerned his entire future. Shen Jin felt a pang of tenderness at that look. It had been a long time since he’d seen such vulnerability in Chu Yi’s eyes, not since the boy had first arrived at the villa. *What was Chu Yi afraid of?*

Shen Jin said, “Chu Yi, I like you. The kind of liking where I want to hold your hand, kiss you, and sleep with you. The kind of liking between men, the kind between lovers, the kind between soulmates. I like you.”

He kept his gaze locked on Chu Yi, anxiously awaiting his response. This was one of the rare moments of genuine nervousness in Shen Jin’s life. He scrutinized every flicker of emotion on Chu Yi’s face.

He saw shock register on Chu Yi’s face after his confession, followed by a flash of anger and resentment. Then came an overwhelming sense of hurt, and Chu Yi’s eyes instantly reddened, tears streaming down his cheeks.

The entire transformation happened within seconds.

Chu Yi couldn’t stop crying, his sobs wracking his body. He felt as if his heart had been violently clenched, each breath a painful struggle.

Shen Jin frantically wiped away Chu Yi’s tears, utterly bewildered by the sudden outburst, which was more intense than any he had witnessed before.

He had only confessed his feelings; he couldn’t understand why Chu Yi was reacting so strongly.

The sight of Chu Yi’s tears twisted Shen Jin’s heart with a sharp, aching pain.

Through his sobs, Chu Yi choked out, “Shen Jin, why are you bullying me too? You promised you’d take care of me, but you’re bullying me too! Waaah, Shen Jin, you’re bullying me! You’re bullying me!”

Chu Yi’s cheeks flushed crimson, whether from anger or tears, Shen Jin couldn’t tell.

It was rare to see Chu Yi cry so bitterly, as if he were releasing all the pent-up grievances of the past few days.

Shen Jin knelt helplessly before Chu Yi, wiping away his tears. “Chu Yi, I’m confessing my feelings to you. When did I ever bully you? I’m serious—I like you.”

This wasn’t the first time Shen Jin had wiped away Chu Yi’s tears, but this time he seemed flustered and clumsy.

Chu Yi was sobbing uncontrollably, his shoulders shaking violently as he struggled to catch his breath. He couldn’t even speak properly, his breathing ragged and shallow. Shen Jin placed a hand gently on his back, stroking it to help him calm down. “Don’t cry like this,” he said anxiously. “You’ll make yourself sick. You’ll run out of air. Slow down, breathe slowly, cry slowly.”

Guided by Shen Jin’s gentle encouragement, Chu Yi gradually regained his composure.

Though Chu Yi was still sobbing, Shen Jin managed to understand his words. “You clearly like Dr. Meng,” Chu Yi choked out. “But now you’re saying you like me? You’re just teasing me.”

Was Shen Jin doing this on purpose? After witnessing the unusual tension between them, he still confessed his feelings? This was too much to bear. Chu Yi’s tears flowed even more fiercely, like a child who had suffered a great injustice.

Hearing Chu Yi’s words, Shen Jin frowned, as if he had heard the most absurd and impossible thing. “I like Dr. Meng? Who said that?! Who told you that?!”

Butler Wen came upstairs to discuss some matters with Shen Jin, but as he approached the door, he heard Chu Yi’s sobs and Shen Jin’s anxious attempts to comfort him.

Just a few days ago, Uncle Wen had been remarking how long it had been since Chu Yi last cried. Now, hearing him sobbing today, it seemed some things were better left unsaid.

Even from the doorway, Butler Wen could hear Chu Yi’s particularly loud and heartbroken cries. He quietly withdrew, confident that Shen Jin would be able to soothe him. He’d also noticed that sometimes Chu Yi’s tears seemed to deepen the bond between the two men. Their relationship had been somewhat strained these past few days.

After descending the stairs, Butler Wen instructed everyone not to go upstairs, especially to Shen Jin’s room. “No one is to disturb them,” he emphasized.

“I saw it with my own eyes,” Chu Yi insisted. “That day, I saw you and Dr. Meng in the room, exchanging intimate glances. When you noticed me entering, you hurriedly put on your clothes. If you had nothing to hide, why were you so flustered? Why were you so afraid of being seen?”

So that’s why Chu Yi was so gloomy that day—he’d seen Shen Jin and Dr. Meng in the room and misunderstood. But this misunderstanding was utterly absurd! How could Chu Yi possibly think Shen Jin liked Dr. Meng?! What made him think that? This was beyond ridiculous!

Shen Jin finally understood why Chu Yi had been so upset that day. It really was because of him. He’d considered countless reasons, but never imagined it was because of that moment in the room with Dr. Meng.

So, Chu Yi was jealous? Could this mean Chu Yi actually liked him?

Chu Yi, unaware of Shen Jin’s thoughts, continued to cry, feeling utterly wronged. “That day… you even took off your clothes! You never used to do that!”

With all the coincidences piling up, it was easy to misunderstand.

“Chu Yi,” Shen Jin said, “are you jealous?”

Chu Yi glanced at him, his expression clearly saying, *I’m not jealous! You’re making things up!*

Shen Jin’s heart swelled with joy, almost making him laugh. But he knew that if he laughed now, Chu Yi’s tears would only flow harder. He’d finally managed to calm Chu Yi’s sobs a little.

Shen Jin patiently spoke to Chu Yi, “Dr. Meng and I are absolutely not what you think. I only love you. Would you like to hear my explanation about that day?”

Chu Yi looked at him, seeing himself reflected in Shen Jin’s eyes. He appeared somewhat disheveled, yet Shen Jin gazed at him with such intensity, as if Chu Yi were the only person in his world. This unwavering gaze calmed some of the agitation in Chu Yi’s heart.

Chu Yi sniffled and nodded. He didn’t speak because his nose was stuffed up, making it difficult to talk.

Shen Jin said softly, “Then I’ll explain once you’ve stopped crying and aren’t so upset, okay?”

Crying continuously was exhausting. Chu Yi nodded again.

For Chu Yi, shedding tears came easily, but controlling them was incredibly difficult.

Shen Jin had already wiped his face countless times. Finally, Chu Yi’s tears subsided, though his eyes remained veiled with a watery sheen.

The corners of his eyes were red from crying, his nose was flushed, and his cheeks were flushed—making him look even more pitiful. Shen Jin’s heart ached with tenderness as he stroked Chu Yi’s cheek. “Your eyes are swollen from crying, and your face is all red. Don’t cry so much next time.”

Chu Yi sniffled again, his voice muffled, “You can explain now.”

He waited for Shen Jin to explain, but Shen Jin merely lowered his head and gently kissed Chu Yi’s lips.

As he kissed him, Chu Yi’s long eyelashes fluttered slightly, making him look breathtakingly beautiful and utterly captivating.

Shen Jin’s lips were warm, while Chu Yi’s were cool. It was a tender kiss, and only when Chu Yi’s lips gradually warmed did Shen Jin pull away.

“That day,” Shen Jin said calmly, “Dr. Meng was actually giving me acupuncture. I had to take off my shirt for the needles. That’s all there was to it.”

Chu Yi pouted, still unconvinced. If it were just acupuncture, why had Shen Jin reacted so strongly when he walked in? He had clearly looked guilty.

Shen Jin was different from ordinary people; he felt no pain. This was a secret known only to a handful of people, not even Gu Jin and the others knew.

If this were to become public knowledge and fall into the wrong hands, it could cause Shen Jin serious trouble.

Moreover, Shen Jin didn’t want Chu Yi to see his imperfect side. That’s why he had panicked that day. He never imagined his reaction would lead to such a misunderstanding.

Shen Jin felt deeply remorseful. He had made Chu Yi miserable for days, causing him great distress.

He raised his left hand, revealing the bracelet on his wrist. “Chu Yi, what do you think this is?”

If asked before, Chu Yi would have answered without hesitation: a smartwatch phone. But now, looking into Shen Jin’s eyes, his intuition told him it wasn’t the smartwatch phone he’d always assumed it was. There were clear differences between the two.

“If it’s not a smartwatch phone,” Chu Yi asked, “then what is it?”

Shen Jin smiled but didn’t answer directly. Instead, he said, “Chu Yi, pinch me.”

“Huh?” Chu Yi responded, confused.

Despite his bewilderment, Chu Yi complied with Shen Jin’s insistence and pinched him.

Shen Jin glanced at the unchanged bracelet, his heart softening at Chu Yi’s reluctance to pinch him hard. He chuckled helplessly. “Chu Yi, you’re pinching too lightly. That’s barely a touch. Use a little more force. Don’t worry, I’m not afraid of pain.”

This time, Chu Yi applied slightly more pressure.

Then he saw the bracelet on Shen Jin’s wrist suddenly vibrate, accompanied by a faint green light that seemed particularly glaring in Chu Yi’s eyes.

Chu Yi had often seen Shen Jin’s bracelet emit such green light—sometimes pale green, sometimes grass green, sometimes yellow.

Shen Jin said, “Chu Yi, this isn’t actually a smartwatch phone.”
