Lu Chi’s terminal was old, and the system interface still followed a very basic, outdated framework. At the very top, Yu Kexing’s friend request stood out clearly, marked in white, the color representing an Omega.
A faint silver glow lined its edges, indicating an A-level rank.
Another request sat just below it, marked in black, the symbol of an Alpha. The name read Lin Jingsi, with a faint gold edge labeling him as an S-level individual.
In the interstellar society, although the population ratio of Alphas and Omegas rose and fell together, their physiological differences were too great. Both sides could potentially trigger each other into forced heat, causing social instability. As a result, conflicts between individuals of the same rank were extremely common, often escalating into massive arguments across the StarNet, such as: “Oh, look at you. Same rank, same background, and you think you’re hot shit? Say that again? Go on, say it again, and I’ll have someone come over and smash your head in!”
Additionally, technology had advanced to the point where fully immersive platforms existed, including holographic forums, adult content sites, microblogs, and short video apps.
Therefore, when these Alphas and Omegas argued, they did it personally, logging in with virtual avatars and going to war with each other online, the insults filthy and relentless.
The Federation’s intelligent AI had essentially grown up in this environment.
A few years ago, during a system upgrade, it automatically categorized public platforms by secondary gender to prevent incidents where users discovered each other’s identities online… and then arranged offline fights.
Of course, Betas remained largely ignored. Based on big data, the AI assigned their representative color as:
Transparent.
Well.
Being invisible wasn’t so bad.
The system in Lu Chi’s mind suddenly perked up, excited: [It’s the Main Shou! Baby, accept it quickly! In this world, we only need to seduce him!]
However, Lu Chi said nothing. Rather, he opened the request and saw that the other party had only sent three simple words:
[Hello. Please accept.]
He let out a small laugh, then chose to leave the proud yet delicate Omega, just as he described in the original novel, well… hanging.
Instead, he followed the map toward the floating tram station, asking the system in his mind: [Why didn’t I hear you mention anything about this world’s Protagonist?]
The system had always had a thing for stirring drama. In the previous world, it constantly encouraged him to seduce men left and right, practically hoping he’d build an entire harem of devoted followers.
So why so cautious now?
The mechanical voice hesitated for a long moment before answering timidly: [The Protagonist is too scary… and the Second Male Lead is thinking about… drugging you… Baby, the waters are too deep. I’m afraid you won’t be able to handle it.]
[Let’s just go for the pure, innocent one! That kind is perfect! Not only can we stop the main couple from getting together, but when it’s time to dump him, it’s easy too! No effort needed!]
It clearly still carried trauma from the previous world. Lu Chi stepped into the floating tram, raising an eyebrow with a faint smile, asking, [What’s the problem? I’ll just seduce all of them.]
Whether he stayed or left was entirely up to him, and no one could force Lu Chi. And no one could trap him either.
The only person who controlled Lu Chi…
Was himself.
[Welcome aboard the SS Hometown Line. Please board in an orderly manner…]
The tram doors slid shut.
In daylight, the floating islands looked less dazzling than at night, but livelier, filled with people. Around him sat unfamiliar young individuals, many with prosthetic limbs. Through the window, he could see the S-class lounge that belonged to Lin Jingsi.
A single island suspended alone in the air, radiating privilege.
Lu Chi thought for a moment, then opened the request page and accepted it.
They hadn’t gone all the way last night.
After all, Lin Jingsi had grown up in the military, trained from childhood in mecha combat. His body was conditioned for battle, with aggression etched into his bones. So for now, he couldn’t easily adjust to letting go and surrendering his body. But when Lin Jingsi expressionlessly reached for a syringe, intending to inject himself with a muscle relaxant, Lu Chi stopped him.
From the mecha’s cockpit all the way back to the lounge…
The young Alpha had ended up kneeling on the floor, his deep green eyes already widened with excitement. His strong arms gripped the long-haired Beta tightly, and looking up at him, breathing unevenly, he said:
“High-dose relaxants can loosen muscle control. An S-class Alpha only needs five shots.”
“There are ten in my storage.”
“Lu Chi… I’ll make you feel better than anyone else.”
Alpha instinct roared through Lin Jingsi’s blood, urging him to pounce,
to bite down hard on Lu Chi’s gland and mark him deeply, permanently.
But that was impossible.
Lu Chi was a Beta, and he would never be able to fully perceive Lin Jingsi’s pheromones. The scent in the lounge had already grown so dense that the AI had to periodically ventilate the room. If an ordinary Omega were there, they would have long since been forced into heat, desperate for Lin Jingsi’s mark.
But Lu Chi wasn’t.
Under the lights, the Beta’s expression barely changed.
Even when bitten deeply, all that showed was a faint redness at the corners of his eyes, a soft, hoarse breath slipping out. His fingertips rested lightly against the back of Lin Jingsi’s head, casual and controlled.
Always composed.
Lin Jingsi couldn’t mark him.
Couldn’t leave his scent on him.
Couldn’t claim him.
That only drove him further into madness.
A violent, almost murderous edge surfaced in the Alpha’s eyes. He grabbed Lu Chi’s hand and kissed it fiercely, pressing against him like a dog, begging in a low, restrained voice:
“Lu Chi…”
Lu Chi lowered his gaze. His leg curled slightly, his body wrapped in the dense, aggressive scent of Alpha pheromones. Hearing him, his breathing turned faintly uneven as he pressed a foot onto Lin Jingsi’s shoulder, his tone indifferent:
“Don’t you still have a match?”
The practical combat tournament lasted two weeks. In the original plot, Lin Jingsi had always ranked first. But strong relaxants would forcibly loosen an Alpha’s body. When piloting a mecha, his reaction speed would drop by more than half.
The Federation Academy was full of talent. Entering the competition in that state… There was no guarantee that nothing would go wrong.
Lin Jingsi kissed the ankle resting on his shoulder and answered without hesitation, his voice hoarse:
“Then I’ll withdraw.”
Compared to going all the way with Lu Chi, the Federation Academy’s tournament meant nothing.
“…”
For a moment, Lu Chi was speechless.
Was this man out of his mind from lust?!
“Are you sick, or am I?” he said flatly. “The competition matters. Stop acting crazy.”
If the Protagonist withdrew midway, how would the plot even continue?! And if things deviated too far, Lu Chi wouldn’t be able to properly observe and grasp each character’s nature from the start. At his core, he too had a kind of controlling instinct, a need to keep things within expected bounds.
He wouldn’t allow deviations like this.
Lin Jingsi stared at him, about to speak again, when Lu Chi’s expression cooled. He stood and slapped him across the face, pressing the soft sole of his foot against him, voice light as falling snow:
“Shut up.”
The pheromones in the air surged violently, and Lin Jingsi let out a muffled sound. Moments later, part of the carpet was damp again. Lu Chi glanced down at him, then let out a soft, amused laugh, pressing his foot against the sharp line of his nose.
“Lin Jingsi, you really might be a bit pathetic.”
Even like this?
Lin Jingsi’s breathing grew heavier. Suddenly, he grabbed Lu Chi’s ankle tightly and pressed it down harder against himself. The soft arch of his foot sank into burning heat, and the release came again, thicker this time.
But barely a minute later, the young Alpha was already reacting again, lifting his head, focused entirely on him.
Lu Chi clicked his tongue, letting him move closer again.
The Beta tilted his head back, lips parted slightly, the tip of his tongue just visible. Silver hair pooled at his neck, trembling faintly like butterfly wings, light and delicate.
Lin Jingsi quickly gathered him into his arms and carried him into the steaming bathroom, kissing him slowly from bottom to top.
Lu Chi’s current body was only nineteen.
His skin was pale to an almost luminous degree. Even the areas beneath his collarbone, once flushed in his previous world, were now a faint, untouched pink, sensitive enough that even a light touch drew out a soft breath from him.
As Lin Jingsi pressed against the soft gland at his neck and kissed his way across his body, he felt the person in his arms gradually soften, moistened by rising desire, his whole form taking on a luminous sheen.
And yet…
A strange contradiction surfaced in his mind.
Lu Chi’s movements were clearly practiced, but his body’s reactions… felt unexpectedly inexperienced. However, he didn’t have time to think further, as Lu Chi quickly noticed his lack of focus and clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction.
Lin Jingsi immediately apologized in a low, hoarse voice, then dropped to his knees again, letting Lu Chi rest his foot on his shoulder as he lowered his head.
Moments later, the Alpha swallowed, his own release hitting at nearly the same time. His hand moved to Lu Chi’s slender ankle, gripping it tightly.
“Lu Chi… don’t look for anyone else for now.”
Even without going all the way, he could still make him feel good.
“I’ll do better than any of them.”
But Lu Chi had only just entered this world, so there was no “anyone else.” He also wasn’t the type to play mysterious games, so when hearing that, he gave a simple hum, absently brushing the diamond ring on his ring finger.
“No one else.”
Then, as if remembering something, he added lightly: “By the way… don’t you have another match tomorrow?”
Lin Jingsi treated his answer as a casual dismissal, but even a dismissal was enough. At least Lu Chi was willing to spare him a sentence.
Someone as beautiful as him…
Someone desired by so many…
Even a perfunctory reply felt precious.
A strange sense of satisfaction rose in Lin Jingsi’s chest. After rinsing his mouth, he leaned in to lick Lu Chi’s lips. His sharp, fierce features lowered slightly, and after a moment, he spoke in a low voice:
“Mm. I’ll win.”
No matter who it was, no matter whether it was the competition or anything else, Lin Jingsi would win. He would stand at the very top of the pyramid, the sole victor. He wanted to win for Lu Chi to see, to let him know that even if he was a dog…
He would be the best one.
Lu Chi gave a perfunctory nod. He reached out and touched Lin Jingsi’s already swollen face, raising a brow as he asked if it felt good. The young Alpha said yes, then leaned in to lick Lu Chi’s earlobe, asking him to repeat what he had called him earlier.
Lu Chi looked into those dark green eyes. After a moment, he smiled lightly.
“You really are…”
Steam filled the bathroom. With a faint smile, he said:
“A pathetic dog.”
Lin Jingsi’s breathing instantly turned ragged, his scalp tingling as he pulled Lu Chi tightly into his arms. A few seconds later, the sound of barking came to Lu Chi’s ear.
Lin Jingsi’s voice was hoarse to the extreme, completely without restraint as he bit at his earlobe, making the sounds again and again, asking what kind of dog Lu Chi liked.
Lu Chi laughed, licking his lips, praising him as “especially pathetic.”
Lin Jingsi laughed too, clearly excited. Staring at his reaction, he said hoarsely:
“Lu Chi, you’re really… hot.”
“But when I’m your dog, the more pathetic I am, the better it feels.”
………………….
The floating tram quickly arrived at its destination.
Lu Chi had been kept up until late into the night. When he woke, everything had already been prepared beside the bed. The AI played Lin Jingsi’s voice message. His tone was cold, almost frighteningly so, indifferent and fierce.
According to the rules of the practical combat tournament, Lin Jingsi had to arrive before six in the morning for a full physical check to ensure no substances had been used. After that, he wouldn’t be allowed to leave to prevent cheating.
The purpose of the tournament was to test top-tier Alpha combat ability, preparing for potential future wars. Since it concerned the future of the Federation, no mistakes were allowed.
Even with Lin Jingsi’s background and status, he had to follow the rules, but being unable to stay with the person he liked, his mood had dropped to its lowest point.
Lu Chi listened to the message, unhurried as he got dressed and ate before finally heading out.
The mecha training room was located at the center of the island, near the competition grounds. After stepping out of the tram, Lu Chi followed the map projected through his iris display.
Yesterday’s match had stirred up heated discussion across the academy. Along the way, he heard countless excited voices, most discussing Lin Jingsi’s combat power, his true strength, whether he might reach dual S-level after a second differentiation…
But among a group of Omegas, he also heard another name.
“Hey, Professor Luo took sick leave yesterday! One whole week!”
“Even if he’s not a combat-type Alpha, he’s still A-level. How did he suddenly get sick?”
“No idea… I was even planning to get closer to him, maybe bring him desserts or something.”
“Please, the Luo family has high standards. Stop dreaming and just find a second-tier wealthy family instead.”
It seemed last night’s incident had already been suppressed by Lin Jingsi, and Lu Chi hadn’t been taken away by the academy’s enforcement team, nor had any rumors spread.
But whatever method Lin Jingsi used, it seemed that…
Even the Luo family had been completely silenced.
Lu Chi fell into thought as he scanned his iris and entered a massive silver-white building. The elevator responded to voice command, descending to the underground second level, the mecha training facility of the floating island.
The AI announced his arrival.
Before him stood a massive, hive-like structure.
Through fully transparent glass, countless Alphas moved within the training rooms. Floating light screens divided the space into many sections, separating rooms by type and rank into individual training chambers.
Above the large public area, displays showed training counts, wins, and losses.
Even the system in his mind let out an amazed gasp. Lu Chi blinked as well, like a long-legged cat that had wandered into human society.
He stood there observing for a few seconds, then quickly imitated the expressionless Alphas around him, bringing his terminal close to the smooth panel at the entrance.
A soft chime sounded, and the AI’s calm voice followed:
[Insufficient account balance. Access to facilities DENIED.]
[Insufficient user rank. Access to the training room DENIED.]
[Incorrect secondary gender. Access to practical combat training courses DENIED.]
Lu Chi: “……”
Is your Federation really this realistic?!

Story Synopsis:
When Jian Ru was young, a fire took both his parents and half his face. Though he survived, one of his legs was left crippled, and the scar running across his ruined features made him the subject of fear, pity, and quiet disgust for years.
Still, he endured.
Then the floods came to Changshou Village.
Fields were destroyed, homes swallowed by water, and the villagers decided the River God needed a sacrifice. But the one they chose was not Jian Ru.
It was Zhang Jiao, the village’s gentle and beautiful ger.
Jian Ru rushed forward, ready to fight for his life, but instead, he was the one tied up, gagged, and forced beneath a red bridal veil.
“Don’t blame us,” someone whispered beside his ear. “Jiao’ger is timid. He’d be afraid. You’re already crippled anyway.”
“Better to fulfill this for us.”
That night, Jian Ru fell into the river, prepared to die. But when he woke again beneath the red veil, the River God before him was not a monster at all.
The man had long black hair, startling beauty, and skin pale with illness, but after taking one look at Jian Ru’s scarred face…
…the River God was so shocked he fainted on the spot.
With no firewood in the cave and the man burning with fever, Jian Ru had no choice but to hold him through the night to keep him warm.
Only afterward did he discover…
The man was no River God.
He was Li Jintong, the frail second young master of the town physician’s family.
Jian Ru thought Li Jintong married him only to take responsibility for that night.
Instead, their days together slowly became warmer and fuller than he had ever imagined.
