WCHM Chapter 43

[First World – Campus Romance Plot] Chapter 43

Early autumn night.

The wind carried a stifling warmth as it swept past. The noise of the city was sealed outside the car windows, leaving only a sea of illuminated lights stretching endlessly ahead.

Lu Chi quickly drove to the Lin residence.

The estate was still cold and deserted, and at night, it looked even more gloomy and eerie. What was more amusing was that this time, the Lin family hadn’t even closed the main gate, leaving it wide open toward the road, as if waiting specifically for Lu Chi to arrive.

Lu Chi didn’t stand on ceremony. He drove in calmly and smoothly, as if returning to his own home, completely unafraid.

The system trembled in his head: [Host, be c-careful… y-you’re the righteous and charming savior, you definitely won’t be dragged away by a male ghost…]

Lu Chi laughed.

“Mm. I won’t.”

The car soon stopped in front of the villa.

The man opened the door and stepped out, walking inside at an unhurried pace. His footsteps echoed through the silent, empty villa, steady and composed. Paired with the quiet night outside the windows, it even gave off a sense of leisure.

He pushed open the wooden door to the second-floor room.

Moonlight filtered through the treetops outside the window, illuminating the scene before him.

The wall that had once been covered in screens was concealed again. In the vast, empty room, the table held nothing at all. Lu Chi walked over, casually leaned back against the tabletop, took out the phone he, ahem, borrowed last time, and pressed the power button.

The loading icon spun for two seconds, then it jumped straight to the search page. Lu Chi searched for Lin Jingsi once more, but the page returned completely blank.

“…Only allowed to search once?”

Thoughtfully, he lifted his head and looked at the wall opposite, the one hiding countless surveillance devices. The smooth surface stared back at him without the slightest movement.

Lu Chi walked over and carefully felt along the wall for a long time, but couldn’t make the wooden panel slide upward like it had that day. Seeing that, the system hurriedly searched its database for various mechanical techniques. Lu Chi chuckled, about to say something, when his phone suddenly vibrated.

It wasn’t the Lin family’s phone.

It was his own.

He paused, lowered his gaze, and tapped it open. Sure enough, Liang Jiashu’s avatar appeared.

[LJS]: Where are you?

[LJS]: Want me to come pick you up?

[LJS]: I made the dishes you said you liked yesterday.

[LJS]: Image.JPG

It was the seafood video Lu Chi had liked. Liang Jiashu had made a full table of food, and under the lights, it looked lavish and abundant. Lu Chi sent back an emoji dancing wildly, then turned and walked out. Before leaving, he put the other phone back where it had been. The system was dumbfounded, asking, [Baby, we’re… just leaving?]

Lu Chi gave a short hum.

“Not checking today.”

Someone was waiting for him at home.

……………….

It was rush hour. Lu Chi got stuck on the roads near the city center, and by the time he arrived home, it was almost ten o’clock.

Liang Jiashu stood at the entrance of the private garage, looking at his phone. Hearing movement, he stepped forward and, without much expression, lowered his head and pulled open the car door.

“Didn’t I say not to wait for me…”

The words cut off at his lips as Lu Chi was forcefully pressed back into the driver’s seat and kissed. Liang Jiashu’s tongue pushed in aggressively, sweeping around fiercely, as if checking for any trace of someone else. Their breaths tangled, scorching hot, quickly and violently enveloping Lu Chi.

Lu Chi indulgently let him kiss him, his fingertips resting on the back of Liang Jiashu’s neck, gently squeezing in a soothing motion.

The man’s fingers were cool.

Soft.

Liang Jiashu paused. After a moment, his aggression finally slowed, and he began to lick and kiss the corner of Lu Chi’s lips with deliberate force. After a while, he asked hoarsely: “Hungry?”

Their breaths were sticky and entwined, colliding at close range, heating that small pocket of air until it was damp and ambiguous. Lu Chi curved his lips into a smile, his voice a little hoarse, too, as he answered, “Not hungry.”

On the way back, he’d bought egg waffles from a roadside stall and even sent a picture to Liang Jiashu, telling him not to wait for him to eat.

Liang Jiashu gave a quiet “mm,” then reached out and scooped him up with one arm.

Lu Chi was a tall man, yet he was effortlessly carried into the elevator like that, taken straight through the hallway and foyer, and then slammed onto the bedroom bed with excellent bounce.

Lu Chi laughed. His knee sprang up, hooking around Liang Jiashu’s thigh as he pulled him closer.

“So domineering?”

Under the light, the man’s soft, broken fringe fell back, revealing sharp, beautiful brows and eyes. His gaze sparkled; there was an easy, dashing charm to the way he looked at people, dazzling and dangerously flirtatious.

A face that made it impossible for a partner to feel at ease.

Especially, especially… especially good at attracting attention.

Liang Jiashu didn’t say a word, pressing him down and kissing from his face downwards. Lu Chi smiled and pushed at the back of his head. As he tilted his head back, his Adam’s apple jutted out in clean lines, sharp and sexy.

“Mmm… let’s shower first, okay?”

These past two days, he really had been brushing him off a little, so at the moment, Lu Chi spoke very gently.

Like coaxing someone.

Gentle enough to turn a mad dog’s brain completely blank.

Liang Jiashu’s breathing heated instantly. He was already hard. With one hand, he tore open both of their shirts and carried Lu Chi straight into the bathroom.

The man obediently wrapped an arm around the back of his neck, fingers brushing over his constantly bobbing throat, laughing so hard he trembled against him.

“Liang Jiashu, you didn’t really start treating me like the Empress Dowager, did you?”

A princess carry. A one-arm haul.

So considerate, nee~

Liang Jiashu stayed silent, laughing softly as he plunged his head under the water with a splash, blocking his lips and throat to play a breath-holding game.

Hot water filled the tub, steam rising and spreading through the room. Lu Chi was pale everywhere, smooth and fierce in its purity. At first glance, he looked a bit like jade, with naturally no hair anywhere around.

And because his mood was good at the moment, there was plenty of space for Liang Jiashu to take it. He loved watching Lu Chi tilt his head back at times like that, exposing that sharp, sexy jawline. His fingers would lazily, gently press at the back of Liang Jiashu’s head, the pressure feeling like both encouragement and resistance. Forced by instinct, his attention and gaze could only stay on Lu Chi, and from time to time, he’d listen to him let out hoarse, low chuckles.

“Liang Jiashu, why don’t you try biting me on purpose?”

“Liang Jiashu, am I pretty?”

“Liang Jiashu, lower your head.”

“Liang Jiashu, loosen your mouth.”

Liang Jiashu. Liang Jiashu. Liang Jiashu.

In his eyes.

In his heart.

In his mouth.

The one he looked at, thought about, and called out.

Only Liang Jiashu.

No one else.

Even his release would only go into Liang Jiashu’s mouth and body. Just thinking about that alone made Liang Jiashu so excited that he felt like he might drop dead. He was already familiar with Lu Chi’s body, and loved the soul inside it even more. He was desperate to possess the other person, yet his heart and instincts were instead taken over by Lu Chi.

So he could only track him every time, spy on him, and threaten him. But love that deepened day by day, and a cherishing that grew heavier with every passing second… These were what truly weighed on Liang Jiashu’s heart, making him unable to force questions out at that face.

Where did you go? Was the outside really that fun? Why are you a little distant, yet also a little gentle?

So gentle that it feels as though… You’re slowly, genuinely starting to like me.

A moment later, from beneath the water came a muffled, barely audible groan.

Splash.

Liang Jiashu rose from the bathtub, lifted his hand to open a bottle of mineral water he’d prepared in advance, and swallowed it down together with what was in his mouth. Only then did he rinse carefully, turn back, and kiss him again.

Lu Chi wrapped an arm around the back of his neck, lowered his eyes slightly, and returned the kiss.

Their tall noses bumped together. After it happened several times, Lu Chi suddenly scrunched his nose like a mischievous cat and started nudging him, his beautiful eyes flashing with childish light, completely unlike his usual unflappable self.

More like a baby.

Liang Jiashu’s heart instantly softened… but his desire didn’t.

Instead, he grabbed his hand, interlacing their fingers tightly beneath the hot water. They went through two rounds in the bathtub, soaked to the bone, then quickly tangled together again by the window. The dazzling sea of city lights fell across their faces, and among those thousands of lit windows, at this moment, one belonged to them.

Lu Chi lowered his head and tugged lightly at the head pressed against his chest, asking, “You didn’t eat at all?”

Liang Jiashu froze for a beat, misinterpreting the question, and immediately twisted his hand and tightened even harder. Lu Chi let out a muffled groan, his breath catching, then smacked the back of his neck and laughed as he pinched his chin.

“Are you insane?!” he asked, “I’m asking about the seafood on the table!”

Not complaining that you lack stamina!

Liang Jiashu froze again, leaned in to lick and kiss him in apology. After a moment, he said hoarsely, “I didn’t eat.”

It wasn’t that he hadn’t eaten. It was that he’d sat at the dining table holding a boning knife from the kitchen, refreshing messages on his phone over and over. Staring at Lu Chi’s avatar and the private investigator’s avatar, gripping the knife handle expressionlessly, calmly thinking…

What should he do if Lu Chi didn’t come back tonight? How could he dismember the person who seduced Lu Chi the fastest?

But thankfully, Lu Chi sent a selfie, along with a bag of egg waffles. His brows and eyes were bright in the wind, and there were a few photoshopped characters on his forehead, reading: [Eating~^^]

Then he told Liang Jiashu to eat too, that he’d be back soon.

Liang Jiashu stared at the selfie, zoomed in carefully, confirming there was no one in the car, no one outside the car, no one under the car, no one on the roof of the car

Only then did he hold the knife in his left hand and chopsticks in his right, eyes fixed on the photo, and eat a bowl of plain white rice without any expression.

Lu Chi fell silent after hearing that. A moment later, he raised a thumbs-up, utterly sincere as he praised, “Liang Jiashu, you’re really born to be the protagonist!”

Truly bizarre as hell!

Liang Jiashu lowered his eyes, said nothing, and kissed him fiercely again, dragging him back into that overflowing river of desire.

Of course, Liang Jiashu had his reasons. After all, the Lu Chi of before wasn’t like that. He was very free, like someone accustomed to drifting alone. There was an unconscious solitude and arrogance to his personality, and his temper wasn’t especially good either. Only after spending time together did one realize that privately… Lu Chi was actually quite a bit of a Dom.

He held himself to an almost harsh perfectionism: no more than a single punctuation mark when grading his students; the smoothness of tempo when playing piano; the drafts discarded without hesitation after the slightest mistake.

Lu Chi demanded a lot, very high standards, from himself. And because he was extraordinarily talented and capable, it gave off an unintentional ruthlessness. Like a bird that never stopped flying: outwardly casual, inwardly indifferent to everything except himself.

High offense, but even higher defense.

Even if someone insignificant threatened suicide or hung themselves in front of him, Lu Chi would only see it as a person swinging on a swing, glance at it lightly with a smile, and forget about it immediately. A very cruel kind of gentleness.

Even when it came to desire, Lu Chi rarely took the initiative to resolve it himself.

When they first got together, most of the time it was Liang Jiashu trying every way possible to kiss him. Lu Chi would accept with a half-smile, tilt his head languidly. He’d let out a muffled groan when sat on, and when the mood struck, he’d pin Liang Jiashu down and hoarsely call out ‘come’.

But once they got out of bed, there was no lingering intimacy at all.

Class was dismissed, children. Go back home, eat, and sleep.

Lu Chi had no attachment to him, no dependence whatsoever, and would never report his whereabouts to him.

………………..

Light spilled down as a pair of kneecaps struck the floor-to-ceiling window again and again, producing dull thuds. Something as beautiful as jade was heating up, burning inside his body.

Liang Jiashu knelt by the window, reaching back to pull the man’s soft fingers to his lips, licking and kissing as he looked up.

In the reflection on the glass was Lu Chi’s current expression: eyes slightly lifted, the corners wet and bewitching, lashes shedding a crystal bead of sweat. The droplet fell onto his slightly parted lips, only to be curled up by his crimson tongue, then licked between his teeth with a breathy sound.

Sweat-drenched and vividly alive.

But now, Liang Jiashu seemed to finally glimpse a bit of Lu Chi’s true self. They never used protection, so in that instant of meeting each other’s eyes through the glass, Liang Jiashu’s breathing hitched. Then, still joined together, he suddenly turned and seated Lu Chi beneath him, swallowing him completely, without the slightest gap.

Swallowing every part of him.

The man laughed, panting indulgently. His fingers tugged at him lazily, pressing him against his chest as he teased hoarsely: “Doctor Liang, I think I want your treatment again. What should I do…?”

“Doctor Liang, listen, mm… isn’t my heart beating especially fast…?”

…Lately, he really was a bit different. Liang Jiashu keenly noticed that Lu Chi had begun unconsciously acting cute toward him. That occasional vulnerability, that barely perceptible reliance… the joy of sending him selfies.

He started saying he missed him. Started asking whether he’d eaten dinner. Calling him Doctor Liang.

Letting him kiss how he wanted, touch how he wanted, utterly indulgent.

Liang Jiashu drowned in that indulgent gentleness, completely losing his head. Like a dog that had finally bitten into bone, he eagerly and ferociously pinned down the beautiful flesh before him, licking and devouring it again and again.

Lu Chi soon laughed again, sweat-damp bangs falling over his forehead. He deliberately lowered his voice, saying, “Doctor Liang, keep it down… There are people outside, ah…”

Lewd.

Frivolous.

Wanton.

Beautiful.

Dazzling.

Indulgent.

Countless precious moments formed the Lu Chi before his eyes. And Liang Jiashu collected each one, carefully piecing them together. Beneath the bright lights, amid movements that were light or heavy, fast or slow…

He lowered his gaze, gathered the melted Lu Chi back into his hands, and gently kissed him.

……………..

The consequence of indulging Gong No.1’s reckless behavior was that for a full three days, long sleeves and turtlenecks were mandatory.

By mid-September, the weather was still hot.

Rising temperatures forced the classroom air-conditioning lower and lower. Lu Chi wore a long-sleeved shirt, buttons fastened all the way up to the last one, but even like that, he still felt a faint chill.

In the front row seat, the culprit who caused him to wear long sleeves had changed his style entirely.

A dark hoodie, loose, one with a hood, even!

But even that originally casual outfit, paired with Liang Jiashu’s cold and handsome face, still inexplicably added a feudal patriarch vibe, making people want to shout out: “What kind of overbearing king is this?!”

On the student’s group chat.

[What’s Wrong With Teacher-Student Romance]: Seeing some wacko elite flaunting their rich face makes me want to slap them. How do I fix this?

[Licking Until the End of the World]: Sick. Why look at him?! Look at the Butterfly Fairy. Butterfly Fairy’s wearing abstinence-core today, such a lofty flower.

[A-University Bitch Rankings – Lu Chi’s No.1]: Such a long neck… Even buttoned up to the chin, there’s still half left… I really want to lick it.

[I want to be Lu Chi’s personal ATM]: You people are disgusting! Teacher Lu isn’t your “study material”!

[What’s Wrong With Teacher-Student Romance]: ???

[What’s Wrong With Teacher-Student Romance]: Gu Yanyan, are you sick?!

[What’s Wrong With Teacher-Student Romance]: You were f***ing hard for the teacher in class yourself, and you’re barking here about what??

Exposed publicly, Gu Yanyan showed no fear at all.

[I want to be Lu Chi’s personal ATM]: I’m more noble than you! At least, I’ve been properly rejected!

[I want to be Lu Chi’s personal ATM]: You bunch of cowards don’t even dare to be rejected by Teacher! Just a group of weak, pitiful, black rats!

After typing those lines at lightning speed and before any admin could kick him out, Gu Yanyan exited the group chats himself. The classroom stirred, and faint curses rose as countless gazes stabbed toward Gu Yanyan, angry and cold.

Lu Chi lowered his eyes and casually tapped the podium with his pointer, asking, “Is there a problem?”

He looked at the few students who had been cursing, his voice light.

“If there’s an issue, take it outside.”

The classroom instantly fell silent.

The man withdrew his gaze and continued explaining classical oil painting. His beautiful throat rolled as he spoke, and beneath his now dark hair, that pale, expressionless face was cool as moonlight, radiating a lofty, untouchable nobility.

Exceptionally compelling.

The students were instantly dazzled by his looks, temporarily forgetting the mood-killing lunatic, and began discussing Lu Chi’s winter outfits in the group chat… incidentally cursing the “wacko elites” along the way.

Lu Chi’s resignation request had already been approved. He would likely leave by the end of February, but none of them knew yet, and he himself was still full of enthusiasm.

Gu Yanyan watched him with a trace of pity and melancholy in his gaze. He’d only found out about Lu Chi’s resignation by accident while submitting a scholarship application; he’d only glimpsed an email on the department head’s computer…

…But why resign?!

Gu Yanyan looked at Lu Chi’s face, then glanced at the tall figure in the front row. After a moment, he slowly lowered his eyes to his own fingertips.

The bell rang soon after.

Lu Chi packed up and left as usual, but Gu Yanyan didn’t follow him, even though he had already guessed that Lu Chi’s resignation was probably related to Liang Jiashu.

In their relationship, Gu Yanyan had always been nothing more than a spectator.

At first, he’d thought himself clever, clumsily imitating others. Later, he grew ambitious, trying to compete. Until finally, Lu Chi bent down, pinched his face, and personally told him.

This wasn’t a shortcut.

Only then did Gu Yanyan understand: Lu Chi wasn’t a dodder flower to be toyed with at will. He was a short-tempered butterfly; tear away the gentle façade, and what remained was a coldness like shattered ice. Provoke him, and he’d slap you awake without mercy.

And yet, Gu Yanyan felt a bit happy.

Because it meant he was one step closer to the real Lu Chi.

He was only nineteen. Little by little, day by day, he could always wait for Lu Chi to become single. He could always make himself truly better, then pursue him again.

Wasn’t that right?

………………

[Baby, it’s okay to slow down a bit, too, you know?] The system muttered in his mind. [You’re actually already very outstanding. You’ve only been in this world for a little over two months, and you’ve already driven the protagonist group crazy over you and figured out the real world line!]

[All you need to do next is wait four years, then you can complete the mission and leave happily with me. Why push yourself so hard?]

Lu Chi stepped on the accelerator and stopped in front of the Lin family villa, heading upstairs once more. He smiled casually, thinking: [Four years is too long.]

[And this isn’t the ending I want.]

The man stared at the wooden wall that showed no reaction. After waiting a moment to confirm nothing would happen, he turned and smiled at the construction crew, saying, “This wall right here. Please tear it all down. Thanks.”

The crew nodded stiffly. “Don’t worry, sir! We’ll make sure nothing else is damaged.”

The sound of electric saws, smashing, and roaring machinery suddenly erupted. Even after a long while, no one from the estate came to stop them.

Lu Chi’s phone vibrated. He glanced at it, then went downstairs to answer.

“Jiashu?”

The person on the other end paused at the address, then asked, “Why aren’t you home again?”

Lu Chi stared at the jasmine flowers blooming in the garden. After a moment, he said, “I went clubbing again.”

Liang Jiashu looked at the sun overhead and calmly reminded him, “It’s noon.”

“Mm,” Lu Chi replied without changing expression, lying through his teeth. “My legs have been very proactive lately. Always feel like dancing.”

Liang Jiashu stood at the entrance of FOM. After a long pause, he nodded. “When are you coming back?”

“Probably this afternoon,” Lu Chi said. “I’ll bring you ice cream.”

“Okay.”

“Then I’m hanging up.”

“…Okay.”

The call ended.

Manager Zhao stood at the entrance with a group of staff, cold sweat pouring down his back. FOM had already been temporarily cleared. After a long while, he finally heard the Young Master speak indifferently: “Where’s the surveillance?”

Manager Zhao immediately had the footage brought over. The air was deathly still. His back was soaked with sweat as he grit his teeth and said, “Mr. Lu really hasn’t come to the club these past few days, but… but maybe he went to other places? There are plenty of nightclubs in A City, all very legitimate! There definitely wouldn’t be anyone blind enough to harass Mr. Lu…”

Even Manager Zhao himself felt guilty saying that.

With Lu Chi’s face alone, people lining up to be his dog could stretch all the way to Paris! Not to mention his personality and that…physique! But how could he dare say that?! The moment those words left his mouth, Young Master Liang would kill him!

Several agonizing minutes passed, and Liang Jiashu finally set down the footage. After a moment, his pitch-black, gloomy eyes lowered slightly, unreadable.

He closed his eyes, opened his phone, and stared at the selfie Lu Chi had sent last evening. Only after suppressing himself for a long time did he say expressionlessly, “Close the club for two months.”

“Yes, sir!”

The young man turned and left, silent all the way back to his apartment. Once the door shut, without Lu Chi’s presence, the place instantly became cold and lifeless again.

Without Lu Chi, Liang Jiashu was nothing more than a dull, silent, walking corpse.

So he could only enter his lab and listen for two hours to the voice recording of Lu Chi saying, “I kind of miss you, too.” After sitting quietly for a long time, he began soldering chips and testing reactions.

Suddenly, a sound came from the doorway.

Liang Jiashu snapped his head up, not even realizing he’d torn through the circuit connections as he rushed outside. The sweet scent of green grapes filled the air. A beautiful man stood in the entryway, holding an oversized ice cream cone, his expression bright with surprise.

“Liang Jiashu, do you remember this ice cream? The first day we talked, when you stalked and doxxed me, I was eating this one…”

He suddenly pulled the man into his arms and kissed him fiercely, brutally, almost biting. Lu Chi froze. Then, after a moment, he wrapped his arms around him and kissed him back gently.

Their breaths tangled.

After the kiss, Lu Chi noticed that Liang Jiashu was still holding the massive cone, stiffly raised over his head, without spilling a drop. When he looked over, Liang Jiashu said hoarsely: “I bought an ice cream machine.”

Lu Chi: “Hm?”

Liang Jiashu: “From now on, if you want some, I can make it for you. Any flavor.”

“…”

Lu Chi looked at him and smiled. A few seconds later, he sighed softly. Then he suddenly asked, “Liang Jiashu, do you believe in idealism, or materialism?”

Liang Jiashu’s mind was a mess as he answered instinctively, “I don’t believe in anything. I only believe in myself.” After a pause, he added, “And now, also you.”

So, even such a clumsy lie, he believed without question.

Lu Chi hummed in response and lowered his head, urging him to eat the cone. “It’s melting.”

Liang Jiashu expressionlessly swallowed the entire thing in a few bites, barely chewing. Lu Chi hissed, trying to stop him too late. “Don’t eat that fast, you’ll get a stomachache!” However, Liang Jiashu seemed not to hear, already dragging him toward the bedroom.

They kissed into a tangled mess, quickly entwining again as sweat and breath rolled together. Only in moments like that could Liang Jiashu feel that the butterfly in his arms belonged to him and wouldn’t fly away.

But soon enough, Lu Chi began leaving early and returning late again.

October passed, and November’s cold air arrived. The man put on colorful, thick hoodies and sharply tailored long coats. His face was wrapped in a scarf, and when he smiled, his lashes shimmered, fluttering like butterfly wings.

He didn’t look twenty-seven at all. His face was tender, like he’d just graduated, and yet, aside from class and the bed every night…

Liang Jiashu barely saw the usual Lu Chi.

He was busy. Busy going “clubbing” everywhere.

At eight in the morning, Liang Jiashu called him, hearing a breathless answer: “Jiashu, I’m still clubbing… I’ll be back soon.” At twelve in the afternoon, he called again, and Lu Chi said gloomily, “Brother Jiashu, I still want to dance. I’ll be back right away!”

At eight in the evening, he called once more, and this time, Lu Chi snapped angrily: “Doctor Liang, I’m back from clubbing! My heart hurts so much! Come listen to it when I get back!”

It was absurdly, even jaw-droppingly funny, but what could Liang Jiashu even say?

He could only say okay, and eerily, he began to detach himself, coldly observing the anxiety piling higher and thicker in his chest. Mockingly watching himself grow more silent, more sickly twisted as he stared at Lu Chi while he slept.

In his hand were a boning knife and iron chains.

Yet he couldn’t bear to wake that defenseless, beautiful, soft sleeping face and make him choose one. A ridiculous, dead stillness took root in Liang Jiashu, like sitting in a burning house, calmly reading a newspaper.

Until that day arrived. Until that stormy night.

Lu Chi came back to the villa after putting away his umbrella and drank the ginger soup Liang Jiashu made. After a while, he casually called his name.

“Liang Jiashu.”

Liang Jiashu looked up, and Lu Chi propped his chin on his hand and said to him:

“Let’s break up.”
