MHWFYYTMDF Chapter47

Anxiety Period

In the end, He Muyan still insisted on taking Song Li away.

As they were leaving, Song Li secretly flipped Xue Sang the middle finger and mouth-synced at him, “Xue Sang, I’m severing ties with you! Severing ties!”

Xue Sang didn’t understand and asked loudly, “Lili, are you saying you want to sleep with me?”

Song Li was practically suffocating with embarrassment, covering his face as he turned and walked away.

Watching their retreating figures, Xue Sang remained somewhat dazed. He looked up at the person beside him and asked, “Did you catch what Song Li said just now? Was it that he wanted to sleep with me?”

Ye Yi gazed at him intently, a faint smile curling at the corners of his lips. “You want to sleep with him?”

Seeing the look in his eyes, Xue Sang knew all too well how crazy this man got when he became inhumanly jealous. He immediately grinned and changed his tune, “Nonsense, how could I? I’m not sleeping with him; I’m sleeping with you.”

Ye Yi’s expression softened a bit as he ruffled his hair, “Go fish.”

“Alright.” Xue Sang followed him back, unable to stop nagging as he walked, “Lili really doesn’t know how to enjoy himself. Such a great opportunity, and they didn’t even enjoy themselves, insisting on going home instead. What’s the point of two grown men always cooping themselves up at home? To think I specifically invited them out today, what a waste.”

Ye Yi said with a smile, “What we find fun might not be what they think is fun. Everyone feels differently, so you can’t force your own ideas onto others.”

Xue Sang thought about it and agreed, looking up at him with starry eyes, “Laogong, you sound so philosophical.”

Ye Yi flicked his forehead, “Stop fooling around, go help me get the bait.”

“Sure thing.”

After clearing things up this time, Song Li could clearly feel that his relationship with He Muyan had become much more natural and relaxed.

He Muyan was no longer as domineering and arbitrary as before; at the very least, he would ask for Song Li’s opinion before doing anything.

This was truly a big step forward.

Early in the morning, Song Li was woken up by the sound of rain outside. He opened his dazed eyes to see that the curtains were already drawn open. The sky outside was dark and gloomy, and the rain was falling heavily, rattling loudly against the windowpanes.

Song Li snapped out of his sleepiness and stretched under the covers.

Weather like this was simply too perfect for staying cozied up in bed and never coming out.

He Muyan wasn’t beside him, meaning he had probably been up for a while. Since he couldn’t go out for his morning exercise in this weather, he was likely running in the downstairs gym.

Although Song Li wasn’t feeling sleepy anymore, he still didn’t want to get up. Reaching next to his pillow, he grabbed his phone and sent He Muyan a message.

Song Pear: Your cute little darling suddenly appears.gif

Song Pear: Yawning.jpg

Right, there was another very obvious change worth mentioning: He Muyan now replied to his messages much faster than before.

Sure enough, not long after sending them, Song Li’s phone vibrated twice with a “buzz-buzz.”

Song Li tapped to read it.

President He: Bear hugs.gif

Looking at the silly, cute big bear on the screen, Song Li had no idea where he had saved such a goofy sticker.

Song Pear: What are you doing?

President He: I just finished running, I’m drinking water right now.

Song Li imagined him in a black, form-fitting athletic outfit, his body practically radiating sky-high hormones after a workout. As he tilted his head to drink, sweat would trace down the contour of his neck, landing on his Adam’s apple, which would then carry it down to his collarbone as it bobbed up and down.

Ahhhhh! Song Li flushed all over from the images in his imagination, hugging his pillow and pounding his face against it a couple of times.

Once his excitement cooled down, he continued sending WeChat messages with composure.

Song Pear: I’m thirsty too.

President He: I’ll bring you something upstairs in a bit.

President He: What does Babe want to drink?

Song Pear: Anything is fine.

Song Pear: Milk, then.

President He: Milk babe.

Song Li stared at the words “milk babe” for a long, long time.

He wanted to pound his pillow again.

President He has really gotten… so good with words lately.

Was he always this good at it?

He’s way too good at this.

So sweet, so sweet.

If his belly weren’t so big that it made moving around difficult, Song Li would have already been rolling all over the bed by now.

Before He Muyan came upstairs, he went to the bathroom to relieve himself and brushed his teeth while he was at it.

He Muyan had showered downstairs before coming up. His bathrobe was loosely wrapped around him, revealing a broad expanse of his chest. The sexy, masculine aura hit Song Li head-on, making his cheeks burn scorching hot.

Seeing him staring so intently, He Muyan thought he was dying of thirst. Holding the milk, he walked over, bending down to look at him, “Milk doesn’t quench thirst that well. Do you want to drink some warm water first?”

Song Li stared at his chest. On his smooth pectoral muscles, there were actually drops of water that hadn’t been wiped dry yet, rolling down and disappearing into places out of sight.

He let out an internal howl, swallowing his saliva heavily.

“No need, milk is fine.”

Song Li took the milk and sipped it in small mouthfuls.

He Muyan sat down by the bed, reaching up to run a hand through his dripping hair.

Song Li wondered if it was because his mind was filled with dirty thoughts first thing in the morning, but he felt like every single move He Muyan made held a hint of sexual suggestion, so sensual that it made his heart itch uncontrollably.

I can’t keep going on like this, Song Li thought, pinching his thigh hard under the blanket. Get it together!

He gulped down more than half the bottle of milk in one go before finally managing to slowly bring himself back to normal.

When he looked up, he saw He Muyan staring at him, his gaze focused and burning hot. Song Li coughed, almost choking.

He Muyan reached out to pat his back, “Slow down. Why are you drinking so fast?”

Feeling utterly embarrassed, Song Li raised his hand to wipe his mouth.

A muffled rumble of thunder suddenly sounded from outside the window. Song Li turned his head to look, “The rain is coming down so hard.”

He Muyan hummed in response, “It hasn’t rained in a while. It’s been quite a severe drought lately, so a good downpour is a welcome change.”

Song Li set the milk aside, pulled back the blanket, and got out of bed.

Seeing that he wasn’t wearing shoes and was stepping barefoot on the carpet, He Muyan frowned slightly, “Lili…”

Song Li had already walked over to the window to lean against the glass and looked out at the curtain of rain, marveling like a child, “It really is pouring! It feels like I haven’t seen rain this heavy in a long time.”

The scolding that had rushed to the tip of He Muyan’s tongue was swallowed back down as he asked him, “Lili, do you like rainy days?”

Song Li nodded, turning his head back to look at him, “Don’t you think rainy days are romantic?”

He Muyan tilted his head slightly while waiting for him to continue.

Song Li turned back around to keep watching the heavy rain outside, saying absentmindedly, “When I was little, I especially loved rainy days. On school days, I would deliberately walk slowly beneath my umbrella, and whenever it rained on a weekend, I would stay curled up at home without going outside, lying snugly beneath the warm covers and listening to the rain falling outside all day long, never growing tired of it.”

He Muyan looked at his silhouette. The window in their bedroom was very large, and with the curtains fully drawn back, set against the backdrop of the outside environment, his Lili looked as though he were standing amidst a vast sheet of rain. He appeared all the frailer, making one’s heart ache for him deeply.

“Lili.”

Song Li turned around to look at him, “What is it?”

He Muyan reached out a hand toward him, “Come here.”

Song Li looked at his hand, gave an “oh,” and obediently trotted over.

It was very cold outside; the only warm places were under the blanket and in He Muyan’s arms.

Holding him, He Muyan rested his chin against his hair, “I won’t go to the company today. I’ll stay home and listen to the rain with you.”

Song Li raised his head to look at him, “Isn’t having the net-worth-astronomical President He stayed home to listen to the rain with me way too much of a waste of precious resources?”

“Then shouldn’t Lili repay me with something?”

Song Li glared at him, “There you go again! It’s not like I made you skip work. You can’t just force a deal on me like this!”

He Muyan chuckled, lowering his head to kiss him.

His mouth was filled with the taste of milk after the kiss.

The phone beside them rang again. He Muyan didn’t want to pay attention to it, but Song Li, who was worried it might be a work-related call, struggled to pick it up and take a look.

“It’s Li Xiu! It must be something urgent, answer it quickly.”

Li Xiu was someone with a strong sense of propriety. Unless he ran into something very pressing, he generally wouldn’t disturb He Muyan so easily.

He Muyan knew this very well too. Although thoroughly dissatisfied, he still took the phone and connected the call.

“Hello.”

“I’m not going to the company today. You can handle things as you see fit.”

“Push the meeting to tomorrow. Give them another day to write the proposal.”

“It’s President Wu’s birthday? Pick a gift first, pick something valuable, and I’ll call him personally later.”

“Alright.”

“Is there anything else?”

After asking this question, He Muyan fell silent. Unsure of what Li Xiu on the other end was saying, he suddenly lowered his head and looked at the person in his arms as a smile gradually surfacing in his eyes.

“Alright, send them over first for me to take a look.”

“That’s all.”

Song Li knew that everything earlier had been work-related, but those last few sentences clearly weren’t; they were definitely about him. Unable to hold back his curiosity, he asked, “What’s what? What did Li Xiu say to you?”

He Muyan pressed his forehead gently, “Li Xiu said he has selected a few wedding planning agencies and will send them over in a bit for us to take a look at first.”

Song Li let out an “Ah,” caught completely off guard, “You… you’ve already started looking for wedding planners?”

He Muyan nodded, “It’s not early.”

In fact, it was already too late.

Song Li looked down at his belly and suddenly said, “What about my stomach? Carrying such a big belly at our wedding… how ugly would that look?”

He Muyan pinched his cheek, “It’s not ugly.”

After saying that, he gently caressed Song Li’s stomach again, “Be good, Child. Your papa doesn’t know how to speak properly, don’t listen to him.”

Song Li slapped his hand away, “I wasn’t saying the child is ugly! Don’t go telling on me.”

After a short pause, he still couldn’t resist saying, “I never dreamed I’d end up getting married while pregnant.”

He Muyan squeezed the center of his palm, “Do you regret it, Lili?”

Looking into his eyes, Song Li said solemnly, “There’s no regrets.”

He Muyan gave him a kiss, let go of him, and stood up, “I’ll go get my laptop, and we can look at them together in a bit.”

Song Li rolled into the cozy blanket, already unable to hold back his sense of anticipation.

Before long, He Muyan returned with a laptop, sat on the bed as well, and naturally scooped Song Li into his arms.

He logged into WeChat onto the laptop and saw a dozen review links sent by Li Xiu.

Going through them one by one to get a general sense of them, He Muyan lowered his head and asked him, “Do you see any that you like?”

Song Li spent the entire time watching with a completely bewildered face, and gave a similarly bewildered reply, “I feel like there’s no difference at all. Even the chapels look so similar. Are these really not all from the same company?”

In truth, He Muyan didn’t see much of a difference either, so he asked again, “Alternatively, we could go abroad.”

“Forget it,” Song Li waved his hand without a second thought. “In my current state, how could I handle the toss and turn of traveling across the ocean?”

He Muyan had actually considered this point too, so he set the laptop aside, “Then we’ll leave this to Li Xiu. Wedding procedures are tedious, so when the time comes, you don’t need to worry about a thing; I’ll arrange it all.”

Song Li nodded, still a bit dazed, “Are we really going to get married again?”

He Muyan corrected him, “We are going to complete a ceremony that truly belongs to us.”

A ceremony. Song Li really liked that word, turning around to lie nestled in He Muyan’s chest.

“What should I do? I suddenly feel a bit moved.”

He Muyan rubbed his soft, fine hair, “If you’re moved, give your husband a kiss.”

Song Li raised his head and gave him a loud “smack” kiss on the chin, “Laogong is the best.”

Ever since the two cleared the misunderstanding during that fishing trip, coupled with He Muyan’s occasional playful teasing on ordinary days, Song Li had gradually overcome his psychological barriers, calling him “Laogong” with increasing ease.

He Muyan was thoroughly satisfied with the results of his own corrective efforts and kissed him back, “Good babe.”

Li Xiu was highly efficient. Since his boss had granted him full authority, he naturally had no more reservations; he found a renowned event planning agency in the industry and began making grand, sweeping arrangements.

Naturally, he wasn’t the only one busy with this matter. After all, it was He Muyan’s wedding, so it was impossible for the He family not to participate. Although Song Li had always advocated keeping a low profile and not making it overly ostentatious, and He Muyan had indulged in his wishes; it was, in the end, the first time the He family was taking in a spouse. How could such an important affair be handled so carelessly?

Mother He met Li Xiu the previous evening and promptly overturned all his itineraries and arrangements. With a wave of her hand, she declared that everything would be handed over to her. The agencies Li Xiu had found were far too shabby; if they truly married someone into the family like this, not only would the He family lose face, but wouldn’t it also wrong Song Li?

To begin with, He Muyan had already been unfair to him by rushing into registering their marriage with him back then.

Stripped of his full authority, Li Xiu called He Muyan to report the situation. Song Li, who happened to be nearby, heard it as well. Once He Muyan hung up the phone, Song Li said helplessly, “Didn’t we say we wouldn’t throw a grand wedding? How did Mom get involved too?”

He Muyan thought for a moment and said softly, “It’s fine this way too.”

“Fine in what way?”

He Muyan looked down at him, “I hadn’t considered things thoroughly before, thinking that getting married was just a matter between the two of us. Now that we plan to make it public, having the He family step forward to manage the arrangements makes more sense, and it will also serve to shut certain people’s mouths.”

Song Li didn’t know whose mouths he was referring to, but since things had already progressed to this point, whatever he said now would likely be of no use anyway.

As the date of the wedding drew closer day by day, Song Li originally hadn’t felt much. Yet one morning, as he habitually crossed another day off the calendar beside the bed, he noticed that less than a week remained until the date marked with a little heart, and a sudden wave of nervousness washed over him.

It wasn’t merely nerves either; there was also a sense of fluster, fear, and an indescribable, subtle resistance.

He mentioned this to He Muyan, but He Muyan didn’t seem to understand, merely patting his head and telling him that he was probably just over-anticipating it, and that everything would be fine once it was over.

Song Li felt that wasn’t the case. The panic in his heart remained, leaving him unable to enjoy his meals or sleep peacefully.

The closer the date got, the more he became panicked. Finally, one day, unable to take it any longer, he seized the opportunity while He Muyan was off at work to quietly sneak back home.

Mother and Father Song knew they were about to hold the wedding soon as well. Seeing him return, they were quite surprised and asked him why he wasn’t staying properly at his own home, coming back at a crucial juncture like this instead.

Song Li was stung by her phrase “your own home,” and said angrily, “If He Muyan’s place is my home, does that mean this isn’t my home anymore?”

With that, he turned around and went back to his room, slamming the door somewhat loudly.

Mother Song looked at Father Song beside her, completely baffled, “What’s wrong with him? Did I say something wrong just now?”

Father Song shrugged, “Our Xiao Li has always been closer to you than to me. Don’t you understand his mind better than I do?”

“Well, I don’t know why he’s getting upset out of nowhere either.”

Mother Song muttered under her breath, glancing once more at Song Li’s bedroom door.

At lunchtime, Mother Song knocked on his door several times, but Song Li only said he wasn’t hungry and refused to even open the door.

Left with no choice, Mother Song could only say, “Then Mom will save some food for you first. Reheat it yourself when you want to eat, alright?”

Song Li gave a muffled response of agreement from inside.

After lunch, Mother Song and Father Song left one after the other. Hearing the rustle of voices outside, he soon heard the living room door close.

Song Li lay spread-eagled on his bed while staring blankly at the ceiling.

The phone beside his pillow vibrated a few times every now and then; someone was likely sending him WeChat messages, nine times out of ten it was He Muyan.

Song Li didn’t want to check it, but he feared that if he didn’t, He Muyan would call him directly; he understood He Muyan’s temper all too well now.

He reluctantly picked up the phone after all.

President He: Photo.jpg

The image sent by He Muyan was his lunch for today: it was black pepper steak and pasta.

President He: What did Lili have for lunch?

President He: Have you eaten yet?

President He: Lili

President He: Babe

Song Li felt that the current He Muyan was so clingy. If he took even a tiny bit too long to reply, he would receive a non-stop message barrage from him, so he had no choice but to reply quickly.

Song Pear: I ate too.

It seemed as though He Muyan was guarding his phone waiting for his text, replying almost instantaneously.

President He: What did you eat?

In reality, Song Li hadn’t eaten, but fearing he would start nagging again, he deliberately changed the subject.

Song Pear: Tingting came over to hang out today and brought me a few branches of plum blossoms. They’re blooming quite beautifully.

President He: She didn’t mess around with you, did she?

Song Pear: No.

Song Pear: I think Tingting is pretty similar to you, stubborn on the outside but soft-hearted inside.

Song Pear: She really likes talking to the child through my belly now. She’ll be a great aunt in the future.

President He: How many sentences did she say today?

Song Pear: Huh?

President He: How many sentences did she say to the child? When I come back tonight, I need to say twice as much as her. We can’t let the child remember only her voice.

Song Pear: ……

Song Pear: You’re so childish.

He Muyan didn’t reply to his messages for a good while. Knowing he must have gone back to busy himself with work, Song Li sighed and was just about to put the phone down when he received a voice message from He Muyan.

Since He Muyan rarely sent him voice messages, Song Li got a bit   curious and tapped it to listen.

President He: I’m going into a meeting in a bit, so I’ll stop here for now. Babe, I miss you

Song Li stared blankly. Although He Muyan was not one to skimp on sweet talk with words like “miss you” or “cute” frequently on his lips nowadays, this “miss you” sent via WeChat voice message today suddenly gave Song Li a feeling of being hit right in the heart.

He couldn’t help but press the phone to his ear again, playing the line back and forth several times.

Listening to it over and over, his nose grew a little sore.

Song Li had no idea what was going on with him. If it was pregnancy sensitivity, he should have long passed that phase by now.

Why was he acting so sentimental again?

After thinking it over, he still couldn’t hold back from venting his troubles to Xue Sang.

He made a voice call, but Xue Sang didn’t pick up.

Left with no choice, Song Li had to leave him a message.

Song Pear: [Bored black bean figure leaning against wall corner.gif]

Only after a long while did Xue Sang reply to him.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Red-lipped aunty [“Babe, I’m here”.gif]

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: It was busy at the shop just now. What’s up?

Song Pear: Nothing much, just wanted to find someone to chat with.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Go find your hubby then.

Song Pear: He’s too busy.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: What’s that supposed to mean? Your hubby being busy counts as busy, but me being busy doesn’t count as busy?

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Double standards are a big no-no, young man!

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: [Ru Hua picking nose.gif]

Song Pear: That’s not what I meant.

Song Pear: There are some things that aren’t suitable or convenient to tell him.

Song Pear: Please [please.gif]

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Go ahead then, I happen to have half an hour to catch my breath right now.

Song Li stared at the screen. Although he was eager to find an outlet, when it came down to it, he suddenly didn’t know how to start.

Song Pear: I suddenly don’t know how to put it into words.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: I’ll give you three minutes to organize your thoughts.

Three minutes wasn’t enough; only after about five minutes did Song Li organize what he wanted to say, typing out a large chunk of text to send over.

After sending it out, he reread it himself, feeling so embarrassed his teeth ached. He felt quite distressed thinking about this in his head, so why did it look so overly sentimental when dryly described in text?

He didn’t know if Xue Sang would laugh at him either.

Song Li threw caution to the wind and sent him another message.

Song Pear: Don’t call me sentimental, I’ve really almost disgusted myself to death these past few days.

Song Pear: [Lying down to accept the ridicule.jpg]

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: I didn’t say you were sentimental.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Hold on a sec, give me two minutes.

About a minute later, Xue Sang returned and sent him a long screenshot.

Song Li clicked on it out of curiosity. It was a forum post titled: I’m getting married tomorrow, but I chose to run away from home today.

Song Li felt like he had taken an arrow to the knee.

If he had never registered an account on this forum, he would have almost thought that he was the one who had posted it himself.

Reading further, he realized that the poster was a twenty-eight-year-old woman. After a long-distance relationship marathon of over five years with her partner, they finally decided to get married. However, as the wedding date drew closer, she became increasingly anxious, overwhelmed by unexplainable fear and irritability, leading to several big arguments with her partner.

This post was made after their latest argument, when she couldn’t take it anymore and ran out to her best friend’s house.

Unexpectedly, as soon as it was posted, it resonated with a large number of people. It had been pinned to the forum’s front page for hours, tagged with a bright red “HOT” icon.

Song Li read through the thread and discovered that many people’s psychological journeys were identical to his current one; some extreme ones didn’t even show up for their own weddings.

Song Li couldn’t snap out of it for a long time after reading it. Xue Sang messaged him again.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Have you finished reading?

Song Pear: I’ve finished reading.

Song Pear: [I get it now, and I’m deeply shocked.jpg]

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: I came across this post yesterday while browsing the forum. Even though it had nothing to do with me, it was so popular that I couldn’t help clicking in to read it. Then you came to tell me about this today, what a coincidence, right?

Song Pear: So, I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Song Pear: But why?

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Have you heard of the term “pre-wedding anxiety syndrome”? What you’re experiencing is the textbook symptoms.

Song Pear: I’ve heard of it, but my situation with He Muyan is different from this. We already got our marriage certificate long ago; we’re a legally married couple.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Then tell me, on the day you went to get certified, weren’t you driven to do it like a duck forced onto a perch? You two had zero emotional foundation back then, how could you call that getting married?

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: It’s already a blessing you didn’t become enemies.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: But things are different now. You’ve started liking him, haven’t you? And he’s started liking you too.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Once there’s love, there are misgivings. Baby, you’re in deep.

Song Li stared at the screen full of text he sent, falling into a long period of deep thought.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Baby, are you still online?

Song Pear: I’m currently having an epiphany, do not disturb.

Today is Also a Day Full of Gloom: Then I won’t disturb your enlightenment. My husband is here, bye!

Song Pear: [886.gif]

Song Li turned off his phone and carefully went through everything Xue Sang had told him again, suddenly realizing the truth.

That’s right. Back then, after seeing He Muyan only twice, he had dared to go get certified with him. Over these past few months, they had been through some rough waters and pushed through so many obstacles. How come now that they had confirmed their feelings for each other, he instead started worrying about all these senseless things?

It was as if Song Li’s two vital channels had suddenly been unblocked; now with a clear mind and completely tranquil spirit, he sat up from the bed with a “swish.”

He wanted to call He Muyan.

Before he could dial after picking up his phone, a call came through from another unknown number.

Song Li hesitated for a few seconds before answering it.

“Hello, is this Xiao Li?”

It turned out to be He Muyan’s mother’s voice.

Song Li immediately sat up straight, “It’s me, Mom. Why are you calling me?”

“Can’t I check in on my darling daughter-in-law even if nothing’s wrong?”

Song Li froze, then smiled shyly.

Mother He’s voice carried a smile, “I’m not teasing you anymore. Mom just wants to confirm something with you. Are you with Muyan right now?”

“No.” Song Li hesitated for a moment, but still told her the truth, “I wanted to come out today to clear my head, so I came back to my own place. He Muyan is working at the company right now.”

“Oh, is that so?” Mother He seemed to sigh with relief, “That works out great then. I was worried Muyan wouldn’t agree if he was right there. Since you’re already at your own place now, don’t go back to Muyan’s place for these next two days, and it’s best not to meet with him either. Just let him pick you up from there on the wedding day.”

Song Li didn’t quite understand, “Mom, why can’t I go back? Did something happen?”

“No, no, we’re about to have the wedding, what could happen?” Mother He said with a smile, “It’s just an unwritten rule that it’s best for the bride’s side not to meet the groom before the wedding. A wedding is different from getting certified; customs matter more than ceremonies. Don’t blame Mom for being fussy, our generation always values these things quite a bit, and I hope you can understand, Xiao Li.”

So that was why. Song Li didn’t know about these things and never had any experience or concepts regarding this. It seemed when his mom came back later, he should chat with her to seek some advice.

“Xiao Li?”

Having not heard his answer for a while, Mother He on the other side asked him again.

Song Li quickly snapped back to reality and said, “I’m fine, Mom. Don’t worry, I can do it.”

“That’s good, our Xiao Li is truly sensible.” Mother He’s laughter sounded much brighter than before. After a short pause, she let out a gentle sigh again, “Things are easy on your end, but I’m afraid that child Muyan won’t behave. He’s always been rebellious and despises listening to our old concepts, so I fear he won’t take it to heart even if I tell him, and eight or nine times out of ten, he won’t be able to hold himself back either.”

At first, Song Li didn’t know what she meant by “won’t be able to hold himself back,” but after pondering for a moment, he understood. Blushing with embarrassment, he said, “I… I’ll try my best to persuade him. Don’t worry, Mom.”

The author has something to say:

President He: Can this even be endured?
