As the cigarette butt in his hand flashed with its last faint red light, Song Li was finally jolted back to his senses by the burning ash that fell on the back of his hand.
Moving his gaze away from the 15th-floor night view outside, he glanced down at the pile of cigarette butts gathered in the ashtray.
This was the eighth cigarette he had smoked.
Ever since he removed the thick, strong arm that had been tightly gripping his waist on the bed, he had been sitting by the window in a thinker’s pose and lost in thought.
He was thinking about why he was currently sitting stark naked in front of the window of a five-star hotel while zoning out.
He was thinking about how he got the money, or the sheer guts, to walk into such a luxurious presidential suite that could wipe out more than half of his monthly salary in a single night.
He was thinking about why there was a man, also completely stark naked like him, on the two-meter-wide bed behind him.
He was thinking about what was going on with his lower back, which had been throbbing with a dull ache ever since he woke up.
He had pondered over the span of eight cigarettes before finally freezing when the man with the thick, muscular arms on the bed rolled over and let out a soft groan.
The lights in the suite weren’t on, but through the moonlight filtering in from the window, he could clearly see the man’s face.
The moonlight was soft and enchanting, and the man was so breathtakingly handsome that he looked like a young male fairy descended from the heavens, as though accompanied by the melody of a Beethoven piano piece.
Well, what could he say? Thinking about how his first time had actually been taken by such a handsome man, the eight cigarettes he had just smoked didn’t seem quite as bitter and suffocating anymore.
He had been single for all thirty-one years of his life, and on his birthday, he finally lost his long-preserved virginity; a milestone that could, in a way, be called the fulfillment of a lifelong wish.
Bah! Whose freaking wish is to eagerly get their ass poked by a man! Only a ridiculous person like freaking Song Li would do something this ridiculous!
Song Li complained about himself in his head. He slowly picked up his clothes, which were thrown messily all over the floor while supporting his aching lower back. One of the shirts only had two buttons left on it, clearly ripped off violently in the heat of the moment.
How rushed were they? Couldn’t they just unbutton it properly? This shirt was just bought at the mall last month for several hundred yuan; what a waste.
Song Li’s face flushed. He slowly pulled his pants on with trembling legs.
After getting dressed, he went to the bathroom to wash his face. Perhaps because he was moving around too much, after a moment, he actually felt some liquid slowly flowing down his leg; it was itchy and a bit warm.
His first reaction was to think he had peed himself, but after processing it carefully, he slowly realized what it actually was.
His pupils dilated in shock as he stared at his own bright red face in the mirror. Opening his mouth, he silently cursed “holy shit” several times. Prop oring his hands on the sink, he genuinely wanted to slam his head and kill himself.
Was it really that intense?
Although he had been dead drunk and only remembered being tossed and turned around by someone in his slumber before losing consciousness completely, when he woke up with a start in the middle of the night, his lower back was still throbbing with numbness.
The pain was real, but so was the pleasure.
As his mind wandered back to that feeling, coupled with the visual bonus of the moonlit fairy-like man, Song Li felt his whole body burning up. He raised his hand and wiped his face hard.
Losing his virginity like this was totally worth it!
After lingering in the bathroom for a little longer, Song Li pushed the door open and walked out. The male fairy on the bed was actually still asleep, maintaining the exact same posture from when his arm had been moved away, completely motionless. Sleeping this deeply, it looked like he had also had quite a lot to drink last night.
Song Li turned around and patted his pockets to confirm his wallet and phone were still there and that nothing was missing. Spotting a hotel brochure on the adjacent nightstand, he picked it up to take a look, then decided to pull out his phone and look up the hotel on a review app.
Just as he had estimated, this room cost nearly half his monthly salary for one night. He now felt an overwhelming urge to slap himself hard across the face.
How grand of him, actually daring to book such an expensive room with someone.
But since they had already slept together and he had gotten off too, crying poverty now was pointless. Opening his wallet, he flipped through it and pulled out the few hundred-yuan bills inside, along with some fifties and twenties. After counting them up, it was roughly enough for half the room rate.
He placed the stack of cash, down to the last bill of change, on the nightstand, weighing it down with the room card.
Splitting the room fee equally; now that was the proper etiquette for adults.
Song Li bent down to place the money, and as he stood up, he took another glance at the man on the bed.
The wind swept away the dark clouds, and the moonlight outside grew even brighter, spilling directly onto that handsome face. Earlier, he had been too embarrassed to stare closely, but now that he was near, he noticed the male fairy’s eyelashes were incredibly long, thick, and curled.
He couldn’t help but recall a phrase that had been trending online a while ago: I want to swing on your eyelashes.
Heavens, he was truly growing more and more amazed by his drunk self from last night. To think he had managed to lure such a top-tier male fairy into bed, what did he ever do to deserve such luck?
But no matter how top tier, after tonight, it would have nothing to do with him. It was just a one-night stand; who would actually take it seriously?
Song Li let out a somewhat melancholy sigh, lightened his steps, and carefully slipped out of the suite.
What Song Li didn’t know, however, was that this seemingly ordinary one-night fling, which shouldn’t have had any further development, would turn his life completely upside down, and could even be said to have directly altered the entire second half of his life.
More than half a month passed after that day, and Song Li had long since returned to his ordinary, daily routine.
At 8:00 AM, he would drive to school, clock in at the office by 8:30 AM, and leisurely finish his breakfast at his desk before slowly easing into work mode around 9:00 AM.
Yes, he was a teacher at an undergraduate university, a true educator. He had majored in education, completed a combined bachelor’s and master’s program. After graduation, he didn’t have any particularly lofty ambitions, so he naturally stayed at the university and became a teacher. It was an ordinary, uneventful life plan with nothing particularly remarkable about it.
Yet, despite being this honest and duty-bound, someone who hadn’t done a single outrageous thing worth talking about even during his craziest, rebellious teenage years, a country-bumpkin teacher so ordinary he couldn’t be more commonplace, he had actually chosen to go to a bar on his 31st birthday to shed his virginity. This was something that, before turning 31, he would never have dared to imagine, even if he had been beaten to death.
All of this was “thanks” to his close friend, that little minx Xue Sang. That kid had a wildly frantic personality and was a total bottom. Having hung around the gay scene for years, the number of top studs who had fallen beneath his denim jeans couldn’t be counted on both hands.
Song Li had merely mentioned once over drinks, purely by chance, his desire to lose his virginity at 31, and that kid had taken it to heart. On his actual birthday, Xue Sang dolled him up and dragged him straight to a gay bar.
Thinking back on it now, his brain must have been clouded by having too much to drink, since he actually went along with it.
There was no need to dwell on what followed; in short, the party involved now regretted it, deeply regretted it.
Amidst his musing, he heard someone calling his name. It was Tian Fu, a chubby male teacher from the neighboring desk. He was 32 this year, with a glossy, shining forehead and a deep, powerful voice; he never used a microphone even when lecturing in the large amphitheater; he was a total savage.
“Teacher Song, I suddenly have something to attend to and need to step out for a bit. I checked the schedule, and you’re the only one in our office free this morning. How about we swap classes? Go monitor two periods for me in a bit, and I’ll cover for you this afternoon.”
He spoke sincerely, and his expression also looked urgent. It was likely some sudden emergency with his two kids at school. Song Li was generally an easygoing person, and since they were colleagues, he usually helped out whenever he could.
Swallowing the last bite of a steamed bun in his mouth, Song Li nodded. “Sure, Teacher Tian, go ahead. I’ll head over as soon as I finish preparing my lesson plan.”
Tian Fu pressed his hands together; his chubby face filled with gratitude. “Thank you so much, Teacher Song! I’ll buy you a drink sometime.”
Drinks wouldn’t be necessary. Ever since that incident at the bar, he was thoroughly done with alcohol; that thing that makes people lose control of their minds.
And so, what was supposed to be a relaxing morning of slacking off turned into him substituting for two large lecture classes in the amphitheater. Right after lunch, Tian Fu rushed back in a hurry, wiping the sweat from his forehead and thanking him repeatedly.
Song Li accepted the donut Tian Fu had bought on his way back while exchanging a few polite words before taking it with a clear conscience.
He didn’t have many other hobbies; he just had a massive, sweet tooth, which was something all the teachers in the office knew about.
Since Tian Fu was covering his classes for him that afternoon, his schedule suddenly cleared up. He planned to find a cafe, order a cup of coffee, pair it with his donut, and sit down to properly savor his afternoon teatime.
Shutting down his computer, he put on his coat and grabbed the donut from the desk. Just as he was about to get up, Xu Shanshan walked in from the opposite direction, raising her hand to greet him with a pleasantly surprised look on her face.
“Teacher Song, you haven’t left yet? That’s perfect, someone downstairs is looking for you.”
Song Li asked her, “Looking for me? Who?”
“No idea.” Xu Shanshan shook her head, and then, clasping her hands together while putting on a totally starstruck expression. “But he is an absolutely stunning, super attractive guy, and he’s even driving a luxury car.”
A handsome guy? A luxury car?
Song Li pondered briefly, ultimately ruling out the existence of such high-quality resources within his own social circle.
He smiled at the gossip-eyed Xu Shanshan. “Teacher Xu, I’ll head down to take a look first. Do you want a donut?”
Xu Shanshan shook her head. “I just ate and my stomach is stuffed. But that guy is really handsome, Teacher Song, if you get a chance, introduce us!”
Song Li smiled. “Sure, I’ll go down and take a look first.”
The very first thing he noticed after stepping out of the administration building was a black sedan parked by the curb. He subconsciously focused his gaze to check the car emblem.
Whoa. Xu Shanshan had actually put it mildly. This wasn’t just a luxury car; it was practically the fighter jet among luxury cars.
Now he felt even more certain that it was impossible for him to know this person. He didn’t have any friends who could afford to drive this kind of car, those guys weren’t even worthy of owning one of its tires.
He thought back to his own Santana parked in the school garage and clicked his teeth in self-pity.
Walking down the steps, he slowly approached the front of the vehicle. He had already seen the luxury car, but where was that stunning, super attractive handsome guy?
He looked left and right, his gaze finally landing on the driver’s side window. Before he could bend over to look closely and see if anyone was inside, the black window slowly rolled down.
First, he saw a face; fair, delicate, and with features so beautiful that they made him catch his breath.
Xu Shanshan, that handsome-guy radar detector, truly had not deceived him.
Because this face was overly stunning, it took him a few more seconds to feel a strange sense of familiarity, prompting him to shamelessly take another close look.
With this look, he saw those two sets of thick, long eyelashes that one could practically swing on.
Song Li’s heart jolted as if he were watching a horror movie, and he involuntarily took two steps back.
Wasn’t this… the sleeping, moonlit male fairy from the hotel that night?!
