Every time Song Li finished kissing He Muyan, he would feel dizzy and disoriented, unable to tell north from south. Today, He Muyan seemed to have been provoked by something, kissing him with particular intensity. By the end, Song Li couldn’t even stand straight, slumping limply as He Muyan scooped him up into his arms.
“Lili.” He Muyan’s voice was exceedingly raspy, striking his ears and causing his eardrums to tingle.
Song Li raised his head and glared at him harmlessly, “There are still people at home, what are you doing?”
He Muyan, however, didn’t seem to mind at all, “If I don’t kiss my wife at home, where am I supposed to kiss you?”
Song Li was no match for him in words, so he raised his hand to take off the apron he was wearing, “Time to eat.”
Carrying the dishes outside, he discovered that Auntie Chen had left at some unknown point.
Song Li looked at the person beside him in annoyance, “You knew Auntie Chen left long ago, didn’t you? You’re teasing me on purpose.”
He Muyan stroked his hair, “Lili’s reaction is so cute.”
Furious, Song Li swatted his hand away and set the dishes on the table, only to catch sight of the small cake sitting on it. He bent down in surprise to look at it, “You really went to buy it?”
“En.” He Muyan walked over, “Didn’t you say you wanted to eat it? I waited in line for a bit.”
Song Li was somewhat touched, “I was just saying it casually.”
He Muyan lightly tapped away his hand as he reached for the cake, “Eat dinner first. You can only eat the cake after finishing dinner.”
Song Li was shocked, “It’s right in front of my mouth and you won’t let me eat it? You’re way too cruel!”
He Muyan reached out to pinch his cheek, “You barely have a few ounces of flesh on your body, and you still won’t eat properly.”
Song Li pouted, pulling out a chair to sit down, “I do eat properly! I even ate a whole steamer of fried dumplings this morning.”
“But you didn’t even finish half a bowl of rice at lunch.”
Song Li didn’t expect this guy to bring up old scores. He cast several longing glances at the small cake, but in the end, under He Muyan’s refusing gaze, he withdrew his eyes while muttering under his breath, “It’s just taking a bite, it won’t hurt… even my mom never nagged me like this…”
He Muyan didn’t hear what he was muttering and scooped a bowl of rice for him, “Eat a full bowl today.”
Song Li poked the rice twice with his chopsticks and gave a soft “Oh.”
Finishing the very last grain of rice in his bowl as if enduring a sentence, Song Li immediately set down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and rested both hands on the table, reporting obediently, “I’ve finished eating.”
Seeing him staring at him with glowing eyes, He Muyan paid him no mind. He unhurriedly finished his own meal, took a sip of the soup, and nodded in satisfaction, “The soup Lili made is very delicious.”
Song Li was salivating so much he kept swallowing, and he wasn’t even in the mood to be happy about the compliment, “It tastes good, right? Can I eat the cake now?”
He Muyan took another sip, “Stewing this soup must take a lot of effort. Don’t make such complicated things next time, it’s too tiring.”
Song Li shook his head, “Not at all, I’m just idling around anyway. Can I eat the cake now?”
He Muyan set down the soup spoon, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and only then raised his eyes to look at him, a faint smile glinting in his deep black eyes, “Does Lili know how long I waited in line to buy the cake today?”
Song Li shook his head; he only knew that cakes from this shop were hard to get and usually required waiting in line for a long time.
He Muyan held up three fingers, “Half an hour. If ten minutes trade for one kiss, then Lili needs to kiss me three times.”
Song Li widened his eyes in disbelief, “You’re taking advantage of the situation!”
He Muyan seemed indifferent, nudging the cake a bit closer to himself and poking the red velvet ribbon on top with his finger, “This cake is so hard to buy, it must be very delicious. Although I don’t like sweets, now I want to try what it tastes like too.”
This guy was actually using a little cake to threaten him, could he get any more childish!
President He proved with facts that he could.
Seeing that Song Li hadn’t responded, he actually took out his phone to snap a photo of the cake, then held up the screen to show him, “How about I post this photo to Moments? I often see people taking photos of trendy snacks and posting them to Moments, it seems quite interesting.”
Interesting my foot!
What trendy snack photos? What check-in Moment’s post? This doesn’t fit your style at all, President He!
He Muyan had already lowered his head to fiddle with WeChat while muttering under his breath, “What caption should I use? ‘A spoiled pregnant wife craving sweets, with his loving husband willing to do anything for love…’”
“Enough, enough.” Song Li stood up and snatched his phone away, looking at him speechlessly, “Where did you pick up such tacky nonsense? Some sleazy promotional WeChat account?”
He Muyan held his hand, pulling him over to frame him between his legs, wrapping an arm around his waist as he looked up at him, “Do you want to eat the cake or not?”
Looking at He Muyan from this angle made his heart flutter almost uncontrollably; especially those light-colored lips, soft and slightly moist, looking so biteable. Song Li’s heart was beating wildly, and he swallowed hard.
He wanted the cake, but what he wanted even more was to taste He Muyan’s lips.
Save me! When did he become such a pervert!
“Lili.”
He Muyan’s voice was even raspier than before. The large hand resting on his waist tightened, pulling him even closer. Opening his lips slightly, he asked him once more, “Lili, do you want to eat the cake or not?”
Song Li’s mind roared with noise. He was way too desperate for this mouth. Pervert or not, he didn’t care anymore!
Closing his eyes, he lowered his head to bite down, only to be stopped halfway by the back of He Muyan’s hand. Song Li opened his eyes, a bit bewildered.
Without him noticing, He Muyan had already opened the cake box. He dipped a finger into the cream, scooped up a little, and gently brushed it across Song Li’s lips.
He pressed his large hand down on the back of Song Li’s head, flames surging in his eyes, “Let me eat first.”
Separated by the sweet cream, the moist, hot tip of his tongue meticulously traced the shape of Song Li’s lips. So sweet, so soft. Song Li’s brain was almost dizzy from being overwhelmed by the sugary aroma, and he reached out to wrap his arms around He Muyan’s neck, shifting angles to let him eat the cream from his lips.
Halfway through eating, He Muyan’s movements noticeably grew urgent. Holding the tip of Song Li’s tongue, he gave it a light bite, then stood up and scooped him into his arms, lowering his head to gently nuzzle his forehead, “Let’s go upstairs.”
Song Li panted, his face completely flushed, “N-No… my stomach…”
He Muyan let out a raspy laugh, “We won’t do it. Just let me touch you a bit.”
Song Li didn’t know what level of “touch” He Muyan meant; all he knew was that neither of them had engaged in anything substantial recently, so He Muyan must have been enduring it with great difficulty.
Then again, was He Muyan the only one enduring it?
In the middle of the night, Song Li was suddenly woken up by hunger. Opening his eyes, he reached out to feel for the person beside him.
He Muyan, being a light sleeper, woke up instantly and reached out to pull him close, “What’s wrong?”
Song Li whispered to him, “I’m so hungry.”
He Muyan reached out to turn on the wall lamp and kissed his forehead, “What do you want to eat? I’ll go get it for you.”
Song Li rubbed his belly, “It’s not me who’s hungry, it’s the child.”
He Muyan smiled softly, “Alright, then what does the baby want to eat?”
Song Li smacked his lips, “The baby says it wants to eat the strawberry cake.”
Turns out he still hadn’t forgotten about this. He Muyan had no choice but to sit up and drape a bath robe over himself, “I’ll go get it for you.”
The weather was gradually turning cool now. By the time He Muyan went downstairs and brought the little cake back up, his body was already tinged with a layer of chill.
Song Li was already sitting on the bed wrapped in a quilt waiting for him. Still drowsy with sleep, two tufts of his hair stuck up, and his sleep-laden eyes would unconsciously droop as his head tilted every now and then.
So adorable.
He Muyan walked over, pulled him into his arms, and called him in a low voice, “Lili, the little cake is here.”
Song Li let out a yawn, and before his eyes were even open, his nose twitched unconsciously twice, “So sweet.”
He Muyan gave a soft “En,” cutting off a small piece with a fork, “I’ll feed you.”
Song Li leaned against his chest, looking like he might fall asleep at any moment, yet the second He Muyan brought the cake over, he immediately opened his mouth to take a bite. His cheeks moved back and forth like a little hamster, it was truly far too cute. He Muyan watched him for a moment before unable to resist leaning in to kiss the corner of his lips.
Song Li hummed twice, tilting his head up to let him kiss him, raising his hand to stroke He Muyan’s stiff hair, “I’m hungry, let me finish eating first.”
How could He Muyan have the heart to let him stay hungry any longer? He continued feeding him the little cake, and in no time, the rest of it was completely finished.
He Muyan opened a bottle of water for him and held it to his lips so he could take a few sips.
Seemingly full now, Song Li let out a soft burp.
Still keeping what happened earlier in mind, he wrapped his arms around He Muyan’s neck and asked him, “Are we still kissing?”
He Muyan wiped away a water droplet from the corner of his mouth, “No more kissing.”
Song Li gave an “Oh” and rolled into his embrace, “Then let’s sleep, I’m so sleepy.”
Setting the water aside, He Muyan wrapped his arms around him and lay down, resting his chin gently atop Song Li’s head as he murmured in a low voice, “Lili, let’s go to the hospital for another checkup tomorrow.”
Song Li seemed to have already fallen asleep, answering him indistinctly.
He Muyan stroked his hair, pulling him a bit tighter into his hold before finally closing his eyes.
The next morning, Song Li once again woke up on his own. When he found the spot beside him empty, he was already used to it and barely reacted. Following routine, He Muyan was either doing morning exercise or handling work right now. Clutching a pillow in his arms, he sat up and gave a drowsy yawn.
The bedroom door was suddenly pushed open. He Muyan walked in with towel in hand as he dried his hair, steam still radiating from his freshly showered body. It seemed he had taken a shower downstairs before coming up.
Holding his pillow, Song Li greeted him, “Morning.”
He Muyan cast a glance at him. Ever since becoming pregnant, Song Li particularly favored wearing looser pajamas; the several new sets he bought were all two sizes larger than what he used to wear. They were far too large for him, hanging loosely off his frame. Even when buttoned all the way to the top, they remained noticeably oversized, so the slightest movement would cause the collar to slip down, revealing half of his slender, bare shoulder and a small stretch of his collarbone.
He Muyan lowered his eyes, walked over, and sat at the edge of the bed, “Did you sleep well last night?”
Song Li blinked, “Pretty well.”
He Muyan gave a soft “En,” reaching out to adjust his collar properly. The rough pad of his finger accidentally brushed across Song Li’s collarbone, making Song Li shiver sensitively right away.
When he raised his head again, his chin was suddenly pinched as a kiss pressed down on him. He Muyan kissed him with great intensity, making his lips burn and turn numb in no time, and when he was finally released, a faint silvery thread was pulled from the corner of his mouth.
Song Li didn’t know what had gotten into him, panting heavily as his heart pounded away.
He Muyan brushed his thumb twice over the corner of his mouth and said in a husky voice, “You seem to be in pretty good spirits today. How about we go to the hospital for a checkup after breakfast?”
Song Li hadn’t yet recovered from the heart-pounding moment just now, and upon hearing this, he raised his head to look at him, “Going to the hospital again?”
Knowing that Song Li was still quite resistant to hospitals deep down, He Muyan stroked the side of his face and coaxed him patiently, “Too many things have happened recently, and your body is constantly feeling unwell. I can only rest easy if we go get you checked out at the hospital. Don’t worry, this hospital is run by a close friend’s family, and I’ve had him take care of all the arrangements. The doctor and medical staff in charge of you have all signed confidentiality agreements, so they wouldn’t dare utter a single word about your situation to the outside world.”
Looking into his sincere eyes and carefully considering his words, Song Li felt the fear in his heart ease somewhat, no longer as overwhelming as before.
Thinking that since he had already decided to keep the baby, the problems that needed to be overcome would surely have to be faced step by step anyway. It was just a prenatal checkup, and with He Muyan accompanying him, what was there to be afraid of?
Song Li exhaled and held his hand, “Then I’ll go with you.”
He Muyan squeezed his palm, “Good boy, Lili.”
When the two prepared to step outside, they saw Li Xiu already waiting in front of the car. Seeing them come out, Li Xiu immediately walked over to take the items from He Muyan’s hands.
Song Li had originally thought it would only be him and He Muyan going today, not expecting Li Xiu to be there as well. He subconsciously reached out to tug at the corner of the clothes of the man beside him, looking at him with a bit of anxiety.
He Muyan offered him a reassuring smile, “There are still many days ahead, and there will inevitably be times when I’m not by your side. Having one more person aware of your condition means having someone else who can help me take care of you. Li Xiu is trustworthy, so rest assured.”
Only after hearing him say this did Song Li put his mind slightly at ease before raising his head to take a quick glance at the person standing opposite them.
Li Xiu had already placed all the items in the trunk and offered him a smile in return.
“Boss, Mr. Song, please get in the car.”
He Muyan led Song Li to sit in the back row. Song Li seemed very nervous; throughout the ride, whenever He Muyan spoke to him, his responses were offhand and perfunctory.
Seeing him like this, He Muyan reached out to take his hand, only to feel a thin layer of clammy sweat on his palm.
He Muyan squeezed the center of his palm, “Lili.”
Song Li looked up at him with a somewhat pale expression, “He Muyan, will they really not view me as a monster?”
He Muyan let out a sigh and lowered his head to kiss his forehead, “They won’t. Song Li, I’m not very good at comforting people, but you’re a teacher, so you must have heard this saying far more often than I have: if something exists, then there must be a reason for it, right?”
Leaning against his chest, Song Li let out an exhale and only let out a soft chuckle after a long pause, “Yeah, that’s true.”
Although this philosophical quote from President He lacked romance, it had to be said that it truly provided Song Li with a great deal of mental relief at a time like this.
Upon arriving at the hospital, He Muyan did not take him to standard consultation rooms, but led him directly into a large, standalone room fully equipped with all kinds of medical apparatus. The entire floor was exceptionally quiet with hardly any other patients or medical personnel moving about, it had likely been specially arranged for patients with unique requirements.
Seeing so few people around, Song Li felt less tense. He tilted his head up to look at He Muyan, “How are they going to examine me in a bit?”
He Muyan squeezed his hand, “Follow the doctor’s instructions. It’s just a routine checkup, don’t be scared.”
Song Li nodded, and just as he sat down on a chair, he heard the sound of the door being pushed open.
A tall man walked in followed by several doctors. The man appeared quite young, dressed in stylish casual wear with handsome features and a pair of peach-blossom eyes carrying a half-smile, exuding a strong air of a playboy heir.
Song Li noticed that everyone around He Muyan seemed to be exceptionally good-looking.
“Brother Yan, I got held up downstairs for a moment, sorry to keep you waiting.”
He Muyan nodded to him, “Is everything ready?”
“All set. This is the top medical resource team in our hospital, so you can rest assured of leaving it to them.”
Saying so, he turned his head to look at Song Li, leaning in a bit closer with his peach-blossom eyes gleaming, “This must be Sister-in-law, right? Hello, Sister-in-law! My name is Lian Jiu, I’m Brother Yan’s childhood friend. You can just call me Xiao Jiu.”
Song Li’s face flushed hot at his loud and clear repeated calls of “Sister-in-law,” especially right in front of so many people. He turned to He Muyan with a plea for help.
He Muyan, however, seemed quite satisfied, reaching out to pat Lian Jiu on the shoulder, “Your sister-in-law is timid. Tell them not to be so solemn and keep their movements gentle.”
Song Li: !
He Muyan! How could you go along with him and fool around like this too!
“That goes without saying, absolutely!” Lian Jiu patted his chest, “Do the people under my command even need your instructions, Brother Yan? Rest assured, I guarantee to provide Sister-in-law with an experience exceeding five-star service, making him want to come back again after just one visit!”
The moment he finished speaking, he received a cold glare from He Muyan. Realizing his slip of the tongue, Lian Jiu slapped his own mouth and offered an apologetic smile, “Look at my mouth! Of course, a hospital is somewhere you should avoid coming to whenever possible. Brother Yan and Sister-in-law are both blessed by good fortune, and at a glance, you both have the kind of healthy countenances that rarely fall ill, hahaha.”
Song Li: ……
This guy’s voice was truly loud, and he was way too familiar with strangers. Although he could be a little noisy, there was no denying that he was exceptionally good at lightening the mood. With him making such a fuss, Song Li really didn’t feel as nervous as he had at the very beginning.
Lian Jiu gave some instructions to the doctors behind him, and the white-coated doctor standing at the front stepped forward. Though wearing a mask, the eyes exposed were full of smiles, radiating a very approachable demeanor.
“Mr. Song, please follow me this way.”
Song Li subconsciously looked at He Muyan beside him. He Muyan lowered his head and kissed his forehead, “Go on.”
The examination was surprisingly quick and relaxed, nothing like the intimidating process Song Li had imagined. When he finally stepped out, he was still a little dazed. He Muyan had been waiting nearby the entire time, and upon seeing him emerge, he immediately stood up and walked over.
“All done? How are you feeling?”
Song Li’s hand was held by him, and he shook his head, “Didn’t feel much of anything, the doctors were all quite gentle.”
He Muyan smiled softly, “That’s good. Are you hungry? What do you want to eat? I’ll take you out to eat.”
Song Li thought for a moment, “Beef noodles.”
“Alright.”
After eating, they went back to the hospital to pick up the report. The doctor reviewing their report was the same one from earlier, a physician surnamed Fang who was already in his nineties and spoke in a remarkably gentle voice.
“Mr. Song’s physical condition is very good. Judging from the various indicators in the report, both the fetus and the father are currently very healthy. The most severe pregnancy reaction is almost over, and now you can start eating more nourishing foods.”
Song Li breathed a sigh of relief, softly placing his hand on his stomach.
Beside him, He Muyan asked a few more questions, none of which Song Li could understand at all; it was clear that He Muyan had done his homework beforehand.
As the two of them engaged in deep conversation, Song Li sat off to the side feeling quite bored. After finishing organizing her medical equipment, a young nurse nearby noticed Song Li sitting there alone, looking as though he might doze off at any moment. Gathering her courage, she walked over and struck up a conversation with him.
“Mr. Song, how are you feeling right now?”
Having someone suddenly speak to him, Song Li’s sleepiness vanished in an instant. Suppressing a yawn, he raised his head to look at her, “I feel pretty good, just a little sleepy.”
The young nurse covered her mouth and giggled, “That’s a normal reaction during pregnancy. I’ve seen a pregnant man before who, at his worst, would sleep for nearly twenty hours a day.”
Song Li froze, confirming that what he had just heard was indeed “pregnant man.” Surprised, he asked her, “A pregnant man?”
The young nurse nodded, “Let me tell you a secret. Actually, a few years ago, our hospital also received a pregnant man like you. At that time, Dr. Fang was in full charge as well, and so were I and a few other nurses. It’s precisely because we had experience taking care of a male pregnancy that we were chosen to care for you this time.”
Song Li was still deeply shocked, looking at her in disbelief, “Is what you’re saying true? There really was another man like me…”
“It’s true.” The young nurse smiled softly, “Although that patient didn’t explicitly ask us to keep it secret or anything, strictly speaking, I shouldn’t be talking about this carelessly. But seeing how anxious you’ve been, appearing so frightened and resistant toward this matter, I thought telling you might help ease your anxiety. That way, it’s good for both you and the baby in your tummy.”
Leaning against the back of the chair, Song Li found it difficult to put the feelings in his heart into words. So, he wasn’t the first person to go through this condition after all; so, there were indeed other men like him who could get pregnant; so he wasn’t a monster, not a monster after all…
“That’s wonderful,” Song Li raised his hands to cover his face, “that’s wonderful.”
Seeing him like this, the young nurse hurriedly made a joke to help lighten his mood, “I even read a research paper before that discussed the possibility of male pregnancy. If this situation becomes widespread in the future, then pregnancy won’t be something only us women can do. You men can finally experience what carrying a child for ten months really feels like!”
Song Li was amused by her words, and his mood felt noticeably lighter than it had earlier.
The two of them chatted happily for a while longer. When He Muyan walked back over from the doctor’s side, they were still talking, with Song Li tilting his head up slightly and occasionally laughing until his eyes narrowed into crescents.
It was only when He Muyan walked over to them that the young nurse finally noticed he was there. Intimidated by his powerful aura, she didn’t dare act brazenly, lowering her head to greet him hastily, “Mr. He.”
It was obvious she was somewhat afraid of He Muyan. While she had been relaxed and natural talking to Song Li, she didn’t even dare raise her head properly in front of He Muyan.
He Muyan nodded to her, and the young nurse immediately turned around and scurried off.
Song Li looked at him with a laugh, “You scared her away.”
He Muyan shrugged, “But I didn’t do anything.”
Song Li thought about it and agreed, “Maybe they can all sense your big-boss aura and don’t dare mess with you. Please carry me, Big Boss!”
He Muyan patted his head, “Playful.”
Song Li tilted his head to look at him, “Done asking your questions? Can we go home now?”
“We can.” He Muyan offered him a hand, “Let’s go home.”
Song Li was already accustomed to holding hands with him by now, naturally taking his hand.
He Muyan took the coat Song Li had taken off and draped it over his arm as the two walked outside together. Swinging their interlocked hands, Song Li asked him, “What did you and Dr. Fang talk about? You chatted for so long.”
“Nothing much, just routine precautions. We’re both beginners with zero experience, so it’s always good to ask more.”
Song Li nodded, “Just that?”
“There’s also one very important matter.”
“What is it?”
He Muyan looked down at him, “At which week of pregnancy sexual intercourse is permitted.”
Song Li: ……
Rogue!
