MHWFYYTMDF Chapter29

Go Home

He Muyan looked coldly at the large sunglasses on his face. “Likewise.”

Song Li, who was caught in the middle, shifted his gaze back and forth between the two of them, completely bewildered.

“What on earth are you two talking about? And He Muyan, why are you here?”

“Why else? He’s a stalker,” Xue Sang sneered, reaching out to grab Song Li’s arm. “Staying up in the middle of the night just to keep watch downstairs at someone else’s home, what a pervert. Song Li, come over here quickly. Staying around this kind of creep for too long won’t do you any good.”

He was clearly pulling Song Li, yet Song Li remained rooted to the spot, completely motionless.

Annoyed, Xue Sang looked up and roared at He Muyan, “Can you let go of his hand, you bastard?”

He Muyan pulled Song Li a bit closer into his embrace. “No. I’m taking Lili home.”

Xue Sang scoffed. “Which home? Song Li’s home is on Yangwan Road. I’ll drive him back after we see the doctor.”

He Muyan glanced at the department across from them, frowning. “We’ve already seen a doctor before. Everything that needed to be checked has been checked. There’s no need to see anyone else.”

“Bullshit! Let go of him right now, don’t force me to start a fight here!”

He Muyan didn’t even bother to speak further, merely looking down at him expressionlessly by taking full advantage of his height.

Xue Sang’s fiery temper was practically on the verge of exploding. As the two stood in a tense standoff, passing bystanders began to steal sidelong glances. If they kept making a scene, the hospital’s security personnel might actually show up.

Song Li had no choice but to stand between them, saying helplessly, “Let’s go outside first. Let’s not make a scene here.”

“Once we go out, there’s nothing left to discuss.” Xue Sang looked at him. “Song Li, I’m asking you one question right now: are you going inside with me to see the doctor, or are you leaving with this man?”

Song Li didn’t know why he was being so stubborn at a time like this, and said with a headache, “Xiao Sang, can we please sit down and talk about this calmly?”

“I get it.” Xue Sang nodded, shoving his hands into his pockets with a cold laugh. “You’re choosing him, right? Fine. I’ll say one last thing: you chose this path yourself. Don’t come crying back to me when you can’t handle things later.”

Having said that, he looked up at He Muyan again and took off his sunglasses. There was a large, terrifying bruise over his left eye, but Xue Sang seemed entirely unbothered by it. He reached out and violently yanked He Muyan down by the collar, staring at him fiercely. “Song Li is well-behaved, but he’s not stupid. I can respect his choice, but I won’t stand by and watch him suffer any grievances with you. Go back and clean up all those messy, lingering side-chicks of yours. If I ever find out someone else dares to jump around in front of Song Li again, I’ll break their legs for you.”

Although He Muyan wasn’t intimidated by his threatening aura, he was deeply confused by the details of what he had just said.

Xue Sang let go of his collar, brushed off his hands, put his sunglasses back on, and walked away without looking back.

Song Li looked at his retreating figure, feeling a bit sad in his heart.

He knew he must have hurt Xue Sang’s feelings just now.

Yet, he had no choice but to make that decision.

He could only wait for an opportunity later to explain things properly to Xue Sang and apologize to him.

A large hand gently squeezed his shoulder, and He Muyan’s voice sounded above him, “Let’s go home too.”

Song Li glanced up at him. “What’s there to go? Follow me.”

Thinking he was still angry, He Muyan didn’t dare say much and followed behind him into the elevator.

Song Li took him to the surgical department on the second floor, registered him, and had a doctor look at the injuries on his face. They just looked a bit terrifying but were nothing serious; the doctor prescribed some anti-inflammatory ointments.

Clutching the bag of medicine in his hand, Song Li thought of Xue Sang’s injured eye and felt even worse, letting out a heavy, solemn sigh. “We should have had Xiao Sang get checked out just now too.”

He Muyan spoke in a cold tone behind him, “I only hit him once yesterday, but he aimed for my life with every single move.”

Song Li turned around and glared at him. “You shouldn’t have hit him even once.”

After being scolded, He Muyan didn’t dare talk back. The two of them quickly reached the first-floor lobby. Just as they were about to head out, He Muyan suddenly grabbed his hand.

Song Li turned back to look at him. “What is it?”

He Muyan lowered his eyes, the injuries on his face making him look pitiful and harmless. “My car is over there. Let me take you to it.”

It turned out he was still afraid he would run away. Song Li looked at him and smiled, suddenly wanting to tease him. “I don’t want to go back to your place.”

He Muyan froze, his grip on his hand tightening a bit. “Lili.”

Song Li’s wrist ached from his grip. He rubbed his stomach with his other hand. “I’m hungry. I don’t want to go back before I fill my stomach.”

He Muyan seemed to let out a sigh of relief. Taking a step forward, he reached out to stroke his hair. “What do you want to eat?”

Song Li frowned and thought for a moment. “Xiaolongbao, I guess. I wanted to eat some last night, but I don’t know if they’re still selling them at this hour.”

“They are.” He Muyan took his hand and led him forward. “There’s a restaurant nearby I used to visit often. I’ll take you there.”

The place He Muyan took him to was a grand restaurant. Song Li had heard of this establishment before, it was highly famous for its Chinese pastries. Some of its popular dishes were usually snatched up the moment they were put out, and while they weren’t strictly limited-edition items, they might as well have been.

He Muyan seemed to be a VIP at this restaurant. The front desk manager bowed and scraped the moment he saw him, bringing them directly to He Muyan’s usual private room without asking any unnecessary questions.

Once the order was placed, the manager and waiter left. Watching them close the door softly, Song Li got to his feet, removed his coat, grabbed the paper bag containing the medicine nearby, and walked over to He Muyan.

Knowing that he was going to apply the ointment, He Muyan tilted his head back, naturally wrapping his arms around Song Li’s waist to pull him a little closer to his side.

Song Li ignored his little movements, taking out the ointment from inside the bag and squeezing some of the light green paste onto a fresh cotton swab.

“Tilt your face up a bit more. I’ll put some medicine on you first.”

He Muyan raised his chin. “Is this okay?”

Song Li gave an “en,” pursuing his lips as he carefully applied the ointment.

He Muyan had about four bruised areas on his face; on his forehead, eye, cheekbone, and the corner of his mouth. The worst of them seemed to have broken skin and bled; it looked like Xue Sang really hadn’t shown any mercy yesterday.

He then recalled how Xue Sang had suddenly returned home in the middle of the night, claiming he had gone out and got into a fight. At the time, Song Li had thought he was only making a joke because he was in a bad mood, but in reality, he had just returned from a fight.

And the person he fought was the very man in front of him.

Thinking of this, Song Li couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity, “Why were you downstairs at my apartment last night?”

He Muyan had his eyes closed, thoroughly enjoying having the medicine applied. Hearing the question, he opened his eyes to look at him. “I was worried about you.”

The two of them were very close right now. As He Muyan looked at him like this, his deep eyes were like deep pools, completely filled with him alone.

Song Li’s heart skipped a beat, and he accidentally poked a bit too hard with the cotton swab in his hand.

He Muyan let out a soft grunt, frowning from the pain.

Song Li hurriedly apologized, leaning down to check the wound. “Are you okay? Does it hurt?”

As he spoke, he habitually and gently blew on the wound with his mouth.

Looking at his pouted lips, He Muyan’s eyes darkened slightly, and he leaned straight in to plant a kiss on them.

Song Li gasped in surprise, but before he could say anything, a large hand clamped around the back of his neck and pressed him down.

He Muyan deepened the kiss with absolutely no gentleness to speak of like a traveler who had been parched in the desert for far too long, sucking on his tongue and demanding it overbearingly.

It seemed that ever since the pregnancy was discovered, they really, truly, hadn’t been intimate like this for a long, long time. Especially at such an ambiguous moment right after a fight and subsequent reconciliation, their mutual longing and passion seemed to be instantly pulled to the surface by this kiss.

Song Li became completely absorbed in the moment. He Muyan’s large hand wrapped around his waist, guiding him down until he sat on his lap.

While his mind was as muddled and chaotic as paste, he faintly caught the sound of the door lock being opened behind them.

Song Li jolted in alarm, instantly snapping back to his senses, and reached out to push the man on top of him away.

Only, he couldn’t summon any strength right now. That limp push against He Muyan felt more like a flirtatious display of feigned reluctance.

He Muyan let out a low chuckle, causing Song Li’s face to burn intensely. He simply gave up and buried his head directly into the man’s embrace.

The door behind them had already been opened. The server delivering the food was likely a new employee who had just started recently; she had never expected to walk in on such a scene. Her hands shook, nearly dropping the tray as she apologized with a crimson face while keeping her head down, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t see anything…”

Hearing her voice, Song Li curled even tighter into He Muyan’s arms.

With a trace of a smile lingering at the corners of his lips, He Muyan reached out to gently pat his back, speaking in a raspy voice, “Just leave everything here.”

The server hurriedly walked over, her hands trembling violently as she set down the dishes. The moment she finished, she immediately lowered her head and rushed back out.

Hearing the sound of the door closing, Song Li finally relaxed. Slumping in He Muyan’s arms, he felt as though he had just survived a major catastrophe as a layer of fine sweat breaking out on his forehead.

He Muyan, however, was in an excellent mood. He lowered his head to kiss the crown of his head, calling out softly, “Lili.”

Song Li caught the aroma, turned his head to take a look, and his stomach immediately growled. “I want to eat.”

He Muyan nodded, lifting the lid of the steamer basket in front of them. The crystal shrimp dumplings inside were translucent and still steaming, looking absolutely mouthwatering.

He Muyan picked one up with his chopsticks, blew on it himself first, and only brought it to Song Li’s lips to feed him after making sure it had cooled down enough.

Song Li felt quite awkward. “Let me down, I’ll eat by myself.”

He Muyan looked at him with a smile. “Or I could feed you with my mouth.”

Song Li was speechless. “Why have you suddenly become so greasy?”

He Muyan kissed him. “I just temporarily don’t want to be apart from Lili, not even for a single second.”

This… this counted as sweet talk, right?

Song Li could hardly believe these were words that could come out of He Muyan’s mouth. Swallowing his saliva, he looked at the shrimp dumpling in front of him and finally couldn’t resist opening his mouth to take it.

The soup inside was piping hot and bursting with flavor, while the shrimp filling was tender yet springy, with an exceptionally delicious taste.

“It’s delicious.”

He Muyan smiled and picked up another one for him.

This meal took quite a while. By the end of it, Song Li was already a bit stuffed, burping as he lay against He Muyan’s shoulder, not wanting to move.

He Muyan’s large hand gently massaged his stomach in slow circles, the soothing sensation making him so comfortable that his toes curled up.

“Lili.”

He Muyan suddenly called out to him by his ear, “Let’s go home.”
