These words did not sound like a question, but more like a statement.
Without waiting for his response, Luo Congye had already kissed his mouth. He pinned both of Bai Heting’s wrists with one hand, while his other hand moved up along that smooth waistline, meticulously feeling the warmth that contained him.
Countless invisible threads accumulated, tangled, and balled into a messy knot inside his body.
Unable to endure it, Bai Heting bent his legs.
It was almost there, but always just a fraction short.
It was dizzying, agonizing, and unbearable—
The groan sealed inside the kiss suddenly elongated with a hint of a sob carrying through the soft trailing sound. Luo Congye’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and his strength instantly spun out of control.
“Don’t make that sound,” he panted heavily, his fingers leaving several prints pressed into the fair skin beneath him as he lowered his voice in warning. “When you make that sound, I can’t hold back.”
He breathed slowly, the muscles of his abdomen protruding in sharp lines from the restraint, fine sweat flowing down and sliding between Bai Heting’s legs.
This triggered another light shudder from the person beneath him.
“I really should lock you away in my room…” He released his hold on Bai Heting’s hands, slipping his fingers into the sweat-dampened black hair to tilt his face up. “Not letting anyone see what you look like, not letting anyone smell your scent…”
“People live in this world,” Bai Heting arched his waist to dodge slightly, “and it’s not like you can simply do whatever you want just because you wish to.”
Luo Congye seized his waist and pulled him back, a smile in his voice as he reminded him, “You can’t beat me.”
Bai Heting raised a hand, clamping it around his throat. “I would catch you off guard and snap your head off.”
His expression was exceptionally serious, and the smile on Luo Congye’s face froze.
“Are you serious?”
Bai Heting nodded, confessing, “I did have that plan.”
Luo Congye was struck dumb with shock.
This person had actually, truly wanted to take his life.
The hand that had been clamped around his throat shifted to the back of his neck, while his other arm came up as well, circling around him.
Bai Heting tilted his head up slightly—
Soft lips pressed a kiss to his Adam’s apple, and a wet tongue flicked out, lightly grazing his skin.
Luo Congye said with a stiff face, “Cruel guy.”
Bai Heting did not refute it but merely tightened his arms and hugged his neck firmly.
How terrifying.
Love and affection not only caused a person to develop vulnerabilities, but also gave rise to an inexplicable, irrational impulse.
An impulse to unconditionally move forward for him, to unconditionally retreat for him, and to willingly sacrifice oneself.
“I won’t leave you behind anymore.” He murmured amidst the jostling.
Luo Congye halted his movements and asked, “What?”
“In the future,” Bai Heting said slowly, “I won’t leave you behind.”
The voice falling by his ear was soft and hoarse. Luo Congye fell still for a moment, then, as if venting his emotions, thrust into him fiercely.
His tone was equally fierce, “Wait until the mark fades before saying… words like that.”
Now that he was older, his temper had grown as well. Bai Heting chuckled softly.
“Are we gonna ignore… the official business tomorrow?” He asked.
There was indeed official business to attend to tomorrow, but Bai Heting’s long legs had already wrapped around his waist. Luo Congye only thought about it for a single second, “Let’s finish today’s official business first.”
