The person who spoke was Wen Xu.

He walked towards us with long strides from the doorway.

Duan Linze, the cunning fox, quickly reacted and turned to him, saying, “It’s nothing. I was just saying that Xiao Ran’s shampoo smells really nice and asking him what brand it is.”

I quickly echoed, casually mentioning a random shampoo brand. However, Wen Xu furrowed his brows, his expression a bit odd, as if he might have seen something just now. But I didn’t pay much attention.

At that moment, my main concern was figuring out how to keep my distance from the dorm leader in the future. I was now very certain that the person who kissed me last night was Duan Linze!

Damn, thinking about how everyone was around during the blackout, and he still dared to kiss me, I felt like my bottom was in danger. I definitely need to avoid him from now on!

Having made up my mind, I specifically took a jacket from the closet and wrapped myself up tightly. Duan Linze, seeing me like this, came over with concern, asking if I was okay and whether I had caught a cold.

After all, it was hot these days—who else would wear a jacket? But as he approached, I quickly shook my head, assuring him it was nothing. Then I sat down, took out a hair dryer, and began drying my hair.

After finishing, I heard a notification sound from WeChat on my phone. I checked it; it was from Wen Xu.

[Wen Xu]: Was that message actually meant for Duan Linze?

I turned my head and looked doubtfully at Wen Xu, who was sitting across from me. He was at his computer, typing on the keyboard, seemingly writing some code—totally focused, maintaining his top student persona. Little did I know, he was secretly messaging his roommate right behind him.

Tsk.

But he was being overly nosy, which wasn’t like him. Of course, telling Wen Xu the truth was out of the question. After thinking for a bit, I replied:

Ning Ran: Of course not, you’re overthinking it.

I was just about to put down my phone when I got an instant reply from him.

[Wen Xu]: Then why were you two standing so close just now?

Ning Ran: Didn’t I already say?

Ning Ran: Just… my shampoo smelled too good, and he was blown away by it.

After sending this, I waited for a bit. Seeing no reply from Wen Xu, I put down my phone and grabbed a canned milk from the cupboard to drink.

Checking the time, it was almost mealtime. I had lunch at the cafeteria and felt a bit queasy, so I figured it’d be better to order takeout. As I was drinking the milk and browsing the takeout app, trying to decide what to eat, I suddenly felt someone approaching from behind.

Thinking it was Duan Linze, I quickly turned around, ready for confrontation. But to my surprise, it was Wen Xu standing behind me. He looked down, and our eyes met for two seconds before he walked back to his spot.

Tsk, what’s he up to?

However, my confusion was soon resolved. Wen Xu sent me another message on WeChat.

[Wen Xu]: Hmm, I just confirmed it, it really does smell good.

I was silent.

So, he was just behind me to confirm whether my shampoo really smelled nice or not?

After I ordered the takeout, Gu Yang returned to the dorm. He put down his drawing board and came over, asking, “Bro, why are you wearing so much? Aren’t you hot?”

“No, not really. What did you draw today? Show me,” I quickly changed the subject.

Gu Yang, without thinking much, handed over his drawing board to show me his work. As I was looking at Gu Yang’s drawing and complimenting him, Qi Yiming burst into the dorm, exclaiming loudly about how hot it was. The moment he saw me, he shouted, “Hey Ning Ran, what was that WeChat message about my kissing skills being awful all about?”

At his shout, the whole dorm fell into a deathly silence.

And me, the central figure in this incident, just wanted to escape from the dorm building at that moment.
