The central air conditioning above exhaled cold air. Liang Jiashu’s face was expressionless, his eyes just as flat, staring at Lu Chi without a word, as if he had something to say.
Lu Chi met that gaze, leaning back against the kitchen island in a relaxed manner, waiting for him to speak.
But after a long silence, Liang Jiashu only reached out, lowered his eyes, and added a little warm water to Lu Chi’s cup. A few seconds later, he asked very calmly: “Are you full?”
Lu Chi hummed an answer, forked a piece of peach from his plate, and watched the Gong No.1’s act with amused interest: “Full. You?”
Liang Jiashu said he was also full, then suddenly stood up, grabbing a fruit knife and a peach from the cabinet beneath the island. The fruit had been air-shipped in, its flesh firm; the knife was also from a good brand, its blade gleaming with a cold edge, but the moment Liang Jiashu drew it, Lu Chi distinctly heard the system, which was still humming to itself a second ago, let out a five-second-long scream.
He couldn’t help but laugh, watching Liang Jiashu peel the fruit, his movements fast and precise, paired with a funereal expression that made him look more like he was dissecting a corpse.
A moment later, he accepted the peeled peach and bit into it. Just as he chewed the first mouthful, he finally heard Liang Jiashu ask: “Lu Chi, was there anywhere last night… that I didn’t do well enough?”
Was there anywhere he hadn’t satisfied him?
Lu Chi looked up at him.
Finishing with the knife, Liang Jiashu had already returned to his normal state. He even smiled at Lu Chi, continuing in a mild voice: “Or are you worried about what the forum people are saying? If you mind, I can recommend A University to close the forum and develop a new AI platform to replace it.”
All of that, and Lu Chi only said, “Liang Jiashu, do you realize that when you smile while holding a knife, you look exactly like a murderer?”
It was like he might go out and start stabbing random people any second.
“……Sorry.”
The younger man froze and quickly put away the knife. After a pause, he went into the master bedroom, fetched his phone, tapped a few times, and handed it over to Lu Chi for a signature.
“Do you like this villa?” he asked. “I have several other houses nearby, all close to A University. If you’d like, you can rotate between them.”
Lu Chi glanced at the property transfer agreement and signed it without hesitation. Seeing his obedience, Liang Jiashu’s tension finally eased a little, but he still didn’t ask about anything else. Instead, he added, “Do you want a car? I picked a few models this morning, ones that would suit you driving to class.”
Always taking taxis wasn’t ideal. After all, taxis couldn’t enter the campus, and A University’s grounds were vast. Since Lu Chi had no sense of direction, if he didn’t check a map, he’d often circle the same spot. The forum even had recurring threads like: [Today’s Coordinates of the Butterfly: XXX. Don’t blame me for eating alone, hurry up if you want a chance encounter! (Damn, he’s really gorgeous, I’m drooling!)]
Every time he saw them, Liang Jiashu wanted to poison those shameless pests trailing after Lu Chi like dirty Band-Aids.
Shameless.
Lu Chi scrolled through the car options Liang Jiashu chose for him, raising his brows as he asked: “Liang Jiashu, exactly how much did you splurge while you were supposed to be asleep?”
“It’s all for you to use.” Liang Jiashu snapped back, unconcerned. “However much, it’s never enough. So, is there one you like?”
Lu Chi scrolled, casually picking the brand he’d driven in his past life, then propped his chin on his hand and watched as Liang Jiashu made the call to order it. His voice and tone were cold, issuing orders to his assistant to send the car over to the garage, exuding the lofty, untouchable demeanor of an overlord and completely different from how he was with Lu Chi.
And that made sense. With his protagonist’s setting, Liang Jiashu really was the perfect model of the “Rich Bastard.” If not for meeting Lu Chi, he would have lived his whole life never knowing what it meant to love without measure, what it meant to gladly be treated like a dog and fear being abandoned by his master, or what it meant to wish to die for someone yet still want to live out every day to come by their side.
His jealousy, his lust, his darkness, his obsession… Everything fell onto Lu Chi. So whenever their relationship hit a snag, Liang Jiashu instinctively didn’t want to lay things bare, for fear of scaring off this free butterfly.
Because once laid bare, all those filthy thoughts of his would have nowhere to hide.
Just then, Lu Chi suddenly raised a foot, gently brushing the fabric of Liang Jiashu’s trousers.
“……”
There he went again.
Hot and cold, near and far, giving him a scrap of tenderness only to slap him across the face, then beckoning him close with a half-teasing curl of his finger…
And Liang Jiashu ate it up.
In fact, whatever Lu Chi did, he loved it.
Liang Jiashu felt he really was cheap-boned when it came to Lu Chi, born to be whipped like a dog and perversely proud of it. But did those shameless people on the forum have any idea how much he reveled in it?
Did they know Lu Chi would kiss him, lick him, drag him into his embrace until they were gasping, then deliberately murmur dirty things in his ear?
Lu Chi seemed to enjoy showing a touch of depravity, just to watch him lose control in bed. And at that thought, Liang Jiashu instantly cut off the call, his throat violently drying.
“…Lu Chi.”
Lu Chi hummed in response, not yet speaking.
And already Liang Jiashu, like a dog who’d received an order, had gotten up and bent down, cupping Lu Chi’s face to kiss him hard. The crimson flash of tongue came and went. Sitting at the island, Lu Chi groaned breathlessly, tugging at his hair: “Slow down.”
Impossible.
Liang Jiashu wanted to be joined with him forever.
That way, he wouldn’t have to worry, wouldn’t have to spend entire nights sleepless with nerves stretched taut, only able to relax by holding him tight and neurotically watching his sleeping face.
Before they slept together, Liang Jiashu was just a cold, silent presence. After, he had become a paranoid boyfriend, clinging like a ghost wrapped around his limbs, never letting go.
But now, even that word “boyfriend” seemed insufficient.
Because from love came grief. From love came fear.
The Buddha was right.
Love gave birth to terror, and from it, dreadful thoughts emerged.
Liang Jiashu pressed hard against Lu Chi’s lower lip, his thumb probing along the edge, using every bit of skill and every effort to please. Feeling Lu Chi’s gradually satisfied response, his breath immediately turned rapid, and his voice came out hoarse, asking: “Like this?”
Lu Chi bit lightly at his tingling tongue tip, paused, then raised his brows and forced down his breathing.
“No,” he ordered. “Sit down first.”
But how could Liang Jiashu agree? His gaze bore deep into him, his hand already rubbing against Lu Chi’s pants zipper.
“Sit down here?”
“……”
Lu Chi met his eyes, half-smiling and half-not, asking: “Dare to say that again?”
“……”
This time, it was Liang Jiashu’s turn to fall silent. After a pause, he could only sit down expressionlessly, chugging half a bottle of cold water to douse the fire in his brain.
Lu Chi also took a sip of water to moisten his throat, then said: “Liang Jiashu, about us, I don’t want a third person at A University to know.”
Liang Jiashu froze, lifting his gaze to him.
“About us?”
Lu Chi met his eyes squarely, his expression open and steady. “Yes,” he continued. “From now on, it’s best that we don’t have any interaction on campus. Our relationship is different now, and that wouldn’t be good.”
Before they’d slept together, Lu Chi could toy with him as he pleased, string him along, then toss him aside without burden. But once bodies had tangled, it wasn’t so simple. Liang Jiashu was an extremely difficult man, and Lu Chi didn’t want things between them to turn too ugly.
Besides, for some reason, Lu Chi couldn’t resist poking at him. Watching one of the main characters lose control and go crazy was something he found entertaining.
The villa was very quiet.
Liang Jiashu’s eyes lingered on the kiss marks across Lu Chi’s collarbone, replaying again and again the way he’d leaned against his shoulder last night, muffling a laugh. Only that could steady his breathing enough to reply, seemingly calm: “No interaction… what does that mean?”
“Whether you attend my class or not is up to you, but don’t come talk to me. Don’t follow me after class. Don’t walk me home.”
“Why not?”
“I’m a teaching assistant. It wouldn’t be good for rumors to spread about me and a student.”
Maybe it was a habit carried over from being a movie king in his past life, but Lu Chi truly disliked exposing his private matters to the public. He was a responsible person, and even though he was only a TA, he still wouldn’t allow himself to be too close to a student in an academic setting.
Before, letting Liang Jiashu walk him home was already indulgence enough.
Now, their relationship had changed. They had plenty of private time together, so why invite gossip on campus?
Liang Jiashu stayed silent for a long while, those pitch-black eyes unreadable. At last, he nodded calmly, stating: “So, what you want… is for me to be your hidden fuck-buddy.”
“?”
Lu Chi was baffled by his twisted leap of logic. However, he hadn’t even spoken before he heard Liang Jiashu again: “Lu Chi, I remember I already told you… I know many ways to dispose of a corpse.”
“So?” Lu Chi blinked and asked, completely puzzled.
Liang Jiashu lowered his head. His handsome but cold face closed in, the light cutting across it as his features twisted slightly with jealousy. “So, whether it’s a dog, or a hidden fuck-buddy, or just a tool to vent your desires on…” he answered. “Lu Chi, that can only be me.”
“If you have anyone else, I’ll kill them, hack them to pieces.”
Hearing his confession, Lu Chi arched a brow, suppressing a laugh.
“Mmm… and then?”
He was far too composed, without the slightest trace of fear, like a butterfly that could never be caught, its freedom so absolute it was maddening.
Liang Jiashu couldn’t help pressing a finger to Lu Chi’s lips, forcefully toying with his tongue tip. His voice was hoarse as he continued: “And then I’ll lock you up. Chain your limbs and your body.”
However, Lu Chi playfully bit his fingertip as he lifted his lashes with a flutter, smiling faintly. “You’re that powerful?” He asked with a teasing tone. “What do you want to do to me, then?”
Liang Jiashu was so easily seduced by him. Snapping back, his breath grew ragged. From midnight until now, all those roiling thoughts rushed back at once. He couldn’t help kissing his butterfly savagely, pouring everything out uncontrollably: “I want to drug you. Tie you up. Strip you bare. Only I can kiss you. Only I can see you…”
Liang Jiashu knew many formulas, enough to drown Lu Chi in a filthy river of lust, eyes brimming with tears as he looked only at him. He wanted to lock Lu Chi in a bedroom, arms bound above his head, ankles chained. Lu Chi’s skin was pale, his waist sensitive… just a touch, and his whole body would flush red.
But that wouldn’t make him submissive.
Instead, Lu Chi would turn the tables, glare up at him in defiance, then let out a few debauched moans to hook him in, only to stomp down hard on his face. He would then break free of the shackles and slap him across the cheek a few times to sober him up.
Lu Chi froze for a moment, but couldn’t help chuckling: “Liang Jiashu, what you really want is for me to slap you, isn’t it?”
Why bother spinning such elaborate scenarios?!
He was supposed to be coaxing Liang Jiashu, but after hearing that, he couldn’t help laughing into his shoulder, not a shred of fear in him. The fine ends of his hair brushed Liang Jiashu’s neck, warm and gentle to the touch.
So soft.
Soft enough that Liang Jiashu couldn’t stop himself from holding him tighter and tighter still. After a moment, his voice came out light, almost a whisper: “Lu Chi… I love you.”
And just like that, one smile from him, and all the gloom was gone. Lu Chi let him hold on, sighed, and spoke in the same tone he used with the system: “Liang Jiashu, your brain is really well developed…”
“…Is there really no other place in the world besides A University? Or are you actually some kind of fairy? Could it be that once you leave A University, you’ll turn into a glowing jellyfish drifting off, and I’ll never find you again?”
Lu Chi didn’t want to make their relationship public because he didn’t want to damage A University’s atmosphere. But beyond that, he also had a few suspicions… He still needed to check with the system about the upcoming plot.
“……”
It took Liang Jiashu several seconds to react to what Lu Chi meant. He immediately lowered his head and looked at him, meeting those light brown eyes. Lu Chi’s voice was sweet as if wrapped in sugar, but mercilessly insulting as he continued: “Liang Jiashu, you should nourish your brain a bit.”
Paranoid jealousy was a sickness… Green-eyed jealousy was also a sickness.
Liang Jiashu wasn’t even impotent, so why was he always imagining Lu Chi running off with other men?!
But Lu Chi didn’t have the time to keep thinking about that as he was pressed back hard against the kitchen island and kissed wildly. Liang Jiashu was clearly overexcited, his movements carrying a touch of violence, pinning Lu Chi between the counter and the chair. Bright sunlight poured in as Lu Chi forcefully held down his mad dog, gasping out a condition:
“Only once!”
After all, daylight debauchery was really shameless.
But, well, things could be negotiated at night.
Liang Jiashu stared at him closely, hesitated for two seconds, then kissed him again before reluctantly agreeing: “Fine.”
“But you have to scream my name.”
………………..
The weekend ended in the blink of an eye. The spray Liang Jiashu developed worked even better than any ointment. In just one night, the marks all over Lu Chi’s body had nearly vanished, so he changed into a short-sleeved shirt, left the villa and Liang Jiashu behind, and drove by himself to A University.
Oddly enough, although Lu Chi was usually terrible with directions, once he had the steering wheel in his hands, he never seemed to get lost.
The sky was high and the clouds were light today, with bright sunlight pouring down. Lu Chi was in a good mood, playing music as he drove, but the tip of his tongue still tingled faintly from the way Liang Jiashu had sucked it right before he left.
That morning, Liang Jiashu had already gone into heat, trying to drag him into fooling around in the entryway. But Lu Chi had no intention of indulging him. Therefore, he kissed him until he was hard and flushed, then immediately let go, turned on his heel, and walked out lightly.
The flashy sports car soon pulled into the Art Department’s parking space.
Lu Chi stepped out with flair, walking into the classroom under the amazed stares of passersby. Almost immediately, his eyes landed on the young man who entered the room right behind him, sitting down in the corner of the front row. A second later, he calmly shifted his gaze away.
Liang Jiashu’s expression was equally flat, but his pitch-black eyes were fixed on Lu Chi, and his face didn’t look very friendly.
The students’ gazes darted around, whispering in secret.
In the back of the room, Gu Yanyan, who was worried about Lu Chi, lowered his head and tapped open the constant flood of group chat notifications.
[Only Happiness for Lu Chi, Fuck the Wacko]: Did they break up?
[Licking Until the End of the World]: Actually, they were never together. That rich bastard was just harassing him one-sidedly.

[LC❤️LC]: Have you guys considered another possibility… that maybe he was never interested in Teacher Lu at all, but because he’s so uptight and rigid, he just finds his beauty and flamboyance… extremely annoying? Don’t forget that Young Master Liang has a prior record of campus violence…
