Thatched cottage.

The wind rustled, and the waters of Yi River grew cold. The thatched roof overhead made it feel a bit chilly.

Si Zhou tilted her chin, her eyes filled with confusion as she glanced at the old thatched cottage that seemed to have been transported from an ancient museum. Then she looked at the bed her dad had prepared in advance, with her favorite doll placed on it, adding a touch of color to the otherwise grayish cottage.

Two pairs of similar sea-blue eyes met, and in the end, Little Soybean gracefully admitted defeat. With tears streaming down her face, she climbed onto the bed and bid her dad goodnight.

Little did Little Soybean expect that she would shed tears throughout the following days of the program.

She felt that the show ‘Traveling with Dad’ should be renamed ‘Let Dad have some fun on his own, and Little Soybean wants to go home! (Dragon Roaring.jpg).’

The activity on the second day was ‘The Early Bird Catches the Worm.’ All the other dads woke up early and found the hidden food placed by the production team. However, due to the large quantity of mosquitoes in their thatched cottage, Little Soybean and Si Huaixi couldn’t sleep and woke up late. They missed the mealtime directly and even the lunch was given by the other dads.

On the third day, the owner of the fish pond asked the children and dads to help. The children were responsible for shelling lotus seeds while the dads went fishing. The one who caught the most fish would win. However, a small raccoon stole the bucket with the fish that Si Huaixi was carrying, leading to an inevitable failure.

On the fourth day, the harvested rice needed to be dried under the sun. After much effort, Little Soybean and Si Huaixi harvested the rice in the field. Si Huaixi chose a vacant spot to dry the rice, but a sudden localized rain soaked their rice. The field where the other dads and children were drying rice remained sunny and bright. The mission failed once again…

The fifth day…

A whole week had passed…

Little Soybean had grown accustomed to her father losing in various ways. The hottest topics on the internet were ‘How does His Majesty the King magically lose every game?’ and ‘Little Princess gets tricked by Dad again.’

Today marked the beginning of a new week. The director said they could change to a new house, but they still had to play a game to decide.

Little Soybean, however, had mentally prepared herself to continue living in that thatched cottage.

Nevertheless, the children warmly comforted Little Soybean and welcomed her to stay at their homes. Despite the hardships she experienced in the show, Little Soybean gained sincere friendships with the children. They exchanged contact numbers, planning to continue playing together, including the crybaby chubby little one.

To everyone’s surprise, Little Soybean’s dad actually won first place! They got the best house!

Little Soybean was both shocked and happy. Reluctantly, she left the thatched cottage where she had lived for a week and found her daddy in the new house.

Little Soybean rushed up and hugged Pei Zhaozhou, using a slightly aggrieved tone, she said, “Daddy, I missed you so much! Why did you come to see me so late?”

Pei Zhaozhou had been on a business trip these past few days, but he had always been paying attention to Little Soybean and Si Huaixi’s variety show. He had video calls with them every day, but not seeing them in person made him feel a little lonely.

Watching the various situations Si Huaixi and Little Soybean encountered in the variety show, he found them interesting yet somewhat helpless. Others might not notice, but he knew that the wise and brave King was slacking off and teasing his innocent daughter. Both of them worried him, so he finished his work in advance to come to the Qingcao Star and accompany them.

Pei Zhaozhou gently touched Little Soybean’s head and smiled, saying, “Sorry, I missed you too.”

Little Soybean nestled in Pei Zhaozhou’s embrace for a while, until Si Huaixi coughed lightly and looked at Pei Zhaozhou with a burning gaze. The ambiguous emotions seemed to communicate between their eyes. In a hoarse voice, Si Huaixi said, “Brother Pei.”

A faint blush appeared on Pei Zhaozhou’s stern face. He evaded Si Huaixi’s overly straightforward and burning gaze, changing the subject and urging Little Soybean to sleep.

The bed in the new room was big enough for the three of them.

After coaxing Little Soybean to sleep, Pei Zhaozhou lay on the bed next to her on the right side, while Si Huaixi propped himself up on the left side of the bed. In the dim light, his sea-blue eyes shone with a subtle brilliance. The seemingly calm sea surface surged with hidden waves as he gazed intently at Pei Zhaozhou.

Si Huaixi’s gaze flickered, and he lowered his voice, saying, “Brother Pei, I’m jealous. The first thing you did when you came here wasn’t to look for me, but that little one.”

Pei Zhaozhou felt both helpless and heartbroken. Si Huaixi was feeling jealous of his own child. But who made him reluctant to let Si Huaixi feel sad?

He lowered his head and glanced at the sleeping Little Soybean. Her peaceful sleeping face appeared particularly quiet and adorable.

Pei Zhaozhou let out a sigh of relief, then slowly propped himself up, leaning towards Si Huaixi on the other side of the bed. He kissed him with a shy and blushing face, as if coaxing a sulking child. He kissed Si Huaixi’s easily angered and jealous face, then kissed the corner of his tightly pursed lips.

Until Si Huaixi’s eyes filled with a proud smile, as he leaned in to kiss him, a gentle and tranquil kiss, like a warm breeze on a night, a silent tenderness passed between them.

Their fingers intertwined, their gazes exchanged affectionate sentiments, as they protected the sleeping Si Zhou in the middle. The three of them, a harmonious and complete family, drifted off to sleep together.

In the following week, Si Zhou saw what it means to have an inspiring father! Si Huaixi won several consecutive games, and she got a lot of food… as well as her dad and daddy’s dog food.

With each game won, they accumulated rewards in the form of ingredients. Si Huaixi displayed remarkable culinary skills and prepared a sumptuous table of delicious food every day, earning praises from the children and dads who gave a thumbs-up in approval. Even the production staff of the show couldn’t resist the tempting aroma and sneaked in for a taste.

However, Si Zhou knew that her dad was doing all this to impress her daddy. Although she had enjoyed tasty meals made by her dad during the previous week, they were nowhere near as diverse as the dishes that appeared after her daddy’s arrival. There was something new to savor every day!

Although her daddy didn’t appear on the variety show, behind the scenes, her dad and daddy would hold hands and take leisurely walks through lush rice fields. They would pluck daisies by the stream and give them to those around them. Before Si Zhou woke up, they would deliberately climb a nearby small hill together to watch the sunrise, and did all the ordinary and romantic things. 

Occasionally, Si Zhou would come across her dad and daddy sharing a kiss. Blushing, she would cover her eyes with her hands, but secretly continue to steal glances. When caught, her daddy would be even more embarrassed than Si Zhou, giving her dad an annoyed glare, only to be met with her dad’s shy look.

Si Zhou had long grown accustomed to her dad’s temper. He wasn’t really angry, just possessive of her daddy, to the extent that he would even feel jealous of his own daughter.

So… she would occasionally play a prank and ask her daddy for a kiss, observing her dad’s jealous expression, secretly revealing mischievous smiles behind his back.

In the end, Si Zhou always received kisses from both her dad and daddy.

Her dad and daddy were deeply in love, and she was the child born out of that love, which made her truly happy.

The variety show was a huge success, surpassing all previous viewership records. ‘Traveling with Dad’ became the highest-rated program in history. Si Zhou made many interesting friends and maintained contact with them. After the show ended, her dad and daddy immediately went on their honeymoon and returned to hold a grand wedding in the palace, inviting the children and dads she had met on the show.

Although the sequence of honeymoon before the wedding seemed a bit strange, Si Zhou wholeheartedly wished for her dad and daddy to be happy and together forever.

Twelve years later.

Si Huaixi and Pei Zhaozhou still went on their annual honeymoon, their love for each other as strong and cherished as ever.

And…

Si Huaixi successfully handed over the affairs of the king to Si Zhou.

Having just turned fifteen and recently transitioning into an Alpha, Si Zhou had already grown accustomed to juggling her studies while shouldering the burden of her work-avoiding king father!

She wouldn’t have to break her dad’s promise and wouldn’t have to marry a stranger as a queen.

Indeed, several levels successfully screened out a considerable number of Omegas.

But there was one left.

Si Zhou looked at the remaining Omega with a complex gaze. She couldn’t decide whether to let him pass or ask him to leave.

For the first time, she encountered an Omega whose thoughts she couldn’t hear.

She couldn’t determine if this Omega had come for her or for the power behind her.

Si Zhou was puzzled by the cold and misty black eyes of that Omega. She gazed at the final Omega and uttered her familiar opening line for the last time.

“The level begins.”

SH and PZ are head over heels for each other, and even Little Soybean’s name comes from theirs. I was really hoping for more of their moments, but alas, this is where it all ends! And as for LS’s omega, I believe everyone already knows who he is~ ¹He’s Bai Huaiyu’s and Ying Yao’s son. Because Soybean couldn’t use her psychic powers on him, along with Ying Yao’s eye color and other hints. So, I believe it’s him, and everyone else who has read this novel also says so…
