Chapter 71: Feeding
He looked at the narrow window, a little conflicted.
Qin Luzhi finally shifted his gaze to the lunch Shen Bumian had brought. As if sensing his dilemma, he thoughtfully suggested, “Mianmian, the food container is too big. Why don’t you feed me through the window?”
Shen Bumian’s eyes widened. Although it seemed like the only way, now that Qin Luzhi had said it, it felt… different.
“I think you can reach out and eat it bit by bit yourself.” Even if it is a bit clumsy.
Qin Luzhi lowered his eyelids, feigning fortitude. “Okay, I can try.”
Saying this, he struggled to take the chopsticks and spoon through the window. He carefully picked up a piece of meat and scooped a spoonful of rice. As he pulled his hand back, his elbow bumped against the frame, and he hissed in pain.
His hand faltered, and the meat fell right onto the edge of the window. Qin Luzhi nonchalantly swallowed a mouthful of plain white rice, then reached out again for the dishes in front of him.
It took him two minutes just to complete one action, yet his gaze remained calm, while his expression was inexplicably a little aggrieved.
Shen Bumian snatched the chopsticks and spoon from his hand, irritably picked up the soup on the side, and muttered under his breath, “Tsk, so clumsy. Come here, I’ll feed you.”
The corners of Qin Luzhi’s mouth lifted, but when Shen Bumian looked up, he returned to his impassive expression. “Thank you, Mianmian. You’re so good to me.”
“Less talking, just eat!”
Qin Luzhi obediently leaned closer, and Shen Bumian fed him bit by bit. This time, he finished eating in ten minutes. Qin Luzhi looked utterly satisfied, as if he had just eaten some rare delicacy.
Shen Bumian, on the other hand, suffered. It was just feeding him, but after ten minutes, his palms were sweating, and it felt as if a century had passed.
Throughout the process, Shen Bumian stared at Qin Luzhi’s lips, afraid he would miss and feed his face instead. As he watched, he couldn’t help but think that Qin Luzhi’s lips looked really nice.
Shen Bumian’s ears turned beet red. He felt like a pervert. How could I think someone’s lips look nice?
He hurriedly packed up the food container, put the lid on, and rushed to leave. “You’re done eating, so I’m leaving first.”
Qin Luzhi called out, “Mianmian, could you ask them to bring my terminal over?”
Shen Bumian nodded hurriedly, afraid to stay a second longer.
Qin Luzhi watched his retreating back. “Will you come to bring me food next time? I don’t like drinking nutrient solutions.”
Shen Bumian didn’t respond and had already disappeared around the corner. Qin Luzhi didn’t know if he had heard him.
Qin Luzhi put away his smile, turned around, and quickly injected himself with an inhibitor. As he moved away, a gray button that he had been blocking was revealed.
That was the control button for the window. Pressing it would open the window wider, enough to pass the food container through. Although the First Military Academy did treat Alphas and omegas very differently, they weren’t so inhumane as to deny this small convenience.
But Qin Luzhi hadn’t told Shen Bumian and had deliberately covered the button. Mu Yi, far away in the dormitory, had also tacitly kept it from Shen Bumian.
Not long after, Mu Yi brought Qin Luzhi’s terminal over and asked about his current condition.
Qin Luzhi was in a very good mood. With Shen Bumian bringing him food at noon and even feeding him personally, he felt that this susceptibility period wasn’t as unbearable, and his violent urges were much weaker.
Mu Yi guessed the reason. “That’s good. Do you need me to bring you dinner tonight? Or…”
Mu Yi didn’t finish his sentence, but both knew what he meant.
Qin Luzhi refused Mu Yi. He didn’t know if Shen Bumian would come tonight, but having tasted sweetness once, he didn’t want to eat food delivered by anyone else. Nutrient solutions would be fine.
Mu Yi restrained himself from rolling his eyes, thinking, I wouldn’t want to deliver it anyway!
Qin Luzhi asked casually, “Where’s He Jing?”
Mu Yi was just messaging He Jing. Hearing this, he chuckled softly. “He’s still sleeping. He was stimulated by your pheromones last night and didn’t sleep well. It’s noon, and he’s still lounging in bed.”
Qin Luzhi felt that was typical of He Jing, but he also suspected it was just an excuse for He Jing to sleep in.
Mu Yi put away his terminal. “I won’t chat anymore. I’m going to buy him lunch. He’ll be complaining about being hungry when he wakes up.”
Qin Luzhi waved his hand dismissively, and Mu Yi quickly disappeared from view.
Mu Yi went to a restaurant outside the school to pack lunch. On his way back, he ran into Chen Hebin and Zhou Yizhou.
Chen Hebin looked at the plastic bag in his hand. “Brother Mu, buying for Brother He?”
Mu Yi nodded. “Who else could it be? He’s a picky eater and doesn’t like cafeteria food.”
Chen Hebin was used to this. Hearing the official complaint, he couldn’t help but smile. “Can’t be helped. Don’t you agree to his unreasonable requests every time?”
Mu Yi also smiled. They exchanged a few more words before parting ways. Zhou Yizhou looked thoughtfully at Mu Yi’s back.
Chen Hebin waved his hand in front of his eyes. “What are you thinking about?”
Zhou Yizhou rolled his eyes. “I just suddenly realized that Qin Luzhi and Mu Yi can actually smile?”
Qin Luzhi and Mu Yi were both typically cold and taciturn, occasionally releasing a chill that made them seem unapproachable. Their looks were also quite aggressive.
But anyone with eyes could see that Qin Luzhi seemed to smile quite a lot around Shen Bumian. So this Mu Yi? Could it be…
Chen Hebin found it amusing. “They’re not dead, of course they can smile. It’s just less frequent. Unlike me, I’m naturally smiley, and even more so after meeting you.”
Zhou Yizhou blushed and pushed Chen Hebin. “What are you talking about? I’m being serious here. I think there’s something going on between Mu Yi and He Jing. It’s too abnormal.”
Chen Hebin pushed him into a milk tea shop. “Alright, stop thinking about them. Let’s buy milk tea.”
“Okay.”
…
When Mu Yi returned to the dorm, the aroma of food wafted through the entire floor. Everyone seemed used to it, shouting towards room 710, “Brother Mu, what good food did you bring this time? Don’t forget us next time.”
Mu Yi’s voice didn’t come, but He Jing’s loud voice burst through the door: “Dream on! This is for me alone. If you want to eat, go buy it yourselves! Right, Mu Yi?”
Mu Yi took the containers out and placed them on the table before closing the door. “Yeah. So hurry up and wash up, get out of bed and eat.”
He Jing rolled around on the bed, feeling refreshed all over, and his laziness kicked in again. “Mu Yi? Brother Mu? Why don’t you feed me? My hand hurts.”
Mu Yi paused while washing his hands. Listening to the voice clearly transmitting through two doors, he washed his hands again and replied, “Keep dreaming.”
He Jing scoffed and resigned himself to getting up to wash. Instead of using the bathroom in his own room, he went to the shared one, shooing out Mu Yi, who was washing his hands, just because he could.
“Hey, I need to use the toilet. Get out.”
“This isn’t your private territory.”
“I don’t care. Get out.”
“Hooligan behavior.”
“Hmph!”
In the end, Mu Yi went out. Not because he was afraid of He Jing, but because he didn’t want to fight with him. Bickering a few sentences was just a habit. Listening to He Jing humming a song, he sighed helplessly.
Sometimes He Jing was really domineering. If things didn’t go his way, he would throw a tantrum. He hadn’t changed since childhood.
