With one foot on his bicycle pedal and the other planted firmly on the ground, Shu An looked down from his height at the group of teenagers suffering from a severe case of “eighth-grader syndrome.” His lips curled slightly into a cold, contemptuous sneer.
Nie Yunshen was pushed to the brink by that “everyone here is trash” look in his eyes and was ready to start the fight without another word.
Shu An glanced at his watch and said with utter composure, “It’s getting late. Why don’t you all just come at me at once?”
Nie Yunshen shot back a cold sneer of his own, muttered, “Pretentious people will get struck down,” and charged straight in.
Ten minutes later, Nie Yunshen and the four buddies he’d brought along were all sprawled on the ground, unable to get up. Groaning and moaning, they watched as Shu An calmly mounted his bicycle and vanished into the cool breeze of the early autumn night.
Later, Nie Yunshen found out that Shu An had practiced taekwondo for ten years and was already a third-degree black belt. That night, he had in fact shown them leniency.
Nie Yunshen muttered a “fuck” while silently complaining in his heart: What kind of twisted family puts a six or seven-year-old through that fighting-and-killing crap?
As for Shu An’s actual family background, Nie Yunshen really didn’t know; the schoolteachers never talked about it. The subject had always remained quite a mystery at Z High. Some said his father was a high-ranking official, some said his father was incredibly wealthy, and others even said he had no father at all but that his mother was formidable. However, no one ever figured out the real situation. Fortunately, kids didn’t care much about such things, especially his “brainless” fans. As long as he was handsome, even if his family was too poor to eat, he would still be a “poor noble prince.” Furthermore, the aristocratic school Shu An attended for junior high wasn’t a place just anyone could enter, so the persona of “Young Master Shu” being either wealthy or influential was firmly established.
From that moment on, Nie Yunshen found Shu An increasingly intolerable to look at. He didn’t just want to compete in exam scores; he wanted to compete in everything else too—every competition, every activity, every sporting event. But for some reason, he just couldn’t win, as if he were under some kind of damn curse. Even when that group of bored little girls at Z High held a vote for the “Top Ten Campus Figures,” and their respective fans engaged in a long-running war of words over who should take the top spot, Shu An still came out slightly ahead in the end, firmly entrenched at the top of the list.
Nie Yunshen nearly coughed up a mouthful of blood.
At last, high school came to an end, and the two of them went their separate ways. At the class gathering held after the National College Entrance Exam, Nie Yunshen drank a little too much. Lightheaded, he slung an arm around Shu An and broke into a foolish grin.
“I can finally get far, far away from you! I’m so damn happy!”
Whatever Shu An said in response at the time, Nie Yunshen didn’t hear it clearly. He had no memory of how he got home that night, but in any case, he never saw Shu An again after that. It was only much later that he heard from others that Shu An had gone to U University in the UK.
He never imagined they would see each other again one day, let alone that their reunion would be so dramatic. The “Young Master Shu” of the past, who was as cold and aloof as if he sat atop a refrigerator, actually had to beg him for a favor, even to the point of selling his own body for it. This could certainly be considered “giving his all” for the family business.
Faced with such a golden opportunity, Director Nie naturally wouldn’t push it away.
Putting aside their rather unpleasant history as classmates, Shu An was, in fact, exactly his type: a great physique, a handsome face, a cool, aloof temperament, and a strong sense of “abstinence.” He wondered what a top-tier specimen like this would be like in bed.
Clinging to his endless fantasies about Shu An, Nie Yunshen held on until the weekend finally came.
He meticulously prepared condoms and lubricant before arriving at the hotel at the appointed time. Shu An had sent the room number half an hour prior; presumably knowing he would arrive soon, Shu An had left the door slightly ajar.
The suite was spacious, and the sound of rushing water drifted from the bathroom. It seemed Shu An had arrived before him and was currently showering.
Nie Yunshen locked the door and walked in, his feet sinking into the plush, handmade carpet. The room was vast, with an enormous panoramic floor-to-ceiling window that mirrored the city’s dazzling night view. Neon lights shimmered as the city glowed in the distance; a sudden streak of light cut through, brushing the night’s heavy darkness with an exquisite, mesmerizing allure.
The two-meter-wide king-size bed looked warm and inviting. Just a brief mental image of the two of them entangled between those sheets was enough to make Nie Yunshen feel a wave of dry heat surging through his body.
At some point, the sound of running water from the bathroom stopped. Hearing the door open, Nie Yunshen turned his head just in time to see Shu An step out.
He was half-naked with only a snow-white bath towel loosely wrapped around his waist. Droplets of water that hadn’t been wiped away meandered down his perfectly lean and toned muscles, sinking into his beautiful Apollo’s belts before disappearing into the tantalizingly half-hidden areas beneath the towel. This explosion of hormones, mingled with the steam and warmth of a fresh shower, hit Nie Yunshen with a direct, visceral impact.
He cursed “damn it” in his head while staring at Shu An as he approached, silently grumbling: Why the hell does this guy have such a perfect body!
Nie Yunshen’s adam apple rolled silently. He was dying to pounce right then and there, rip off that towel, and pin the man to the bed for three hundred rounds of battle.
The blood in his body began to surge restlessly, and the guy in his trousers was already starting to stir. Nie Yunshen hadn’t expected his s*xual interest in Shu An to be so much greater than he had imagined. In the nearly thirty years of his life, this had never happened before. In front of Shu An, he felt as if he’d suddenly regressed into that impulsive kid from ten years ago, excited, thirsty, and impatient.
Yet, he couldn’t let himself appear too eager, fearing that he would give Shu An the upper hand.
But with such beauty right in front of him, like unwrapping a sweet, irresistible candy and bringing it to his lips, what was he waiting for? Why bother pretending to be calm, refined, or some gentle gentleman!
Nie Yunshen’s thoughts raced like a runaway horse, torn between keeping up appearances by taking a shower first or diving straight in. Before he could reach a verdict, Shu An took a long stride and stopped right in front of him.
Director Nie reflexively took a step back—he didn’t even know why he was retreating. At a time like this, shouldn’t he be stepping up, grabbing the guy by the back of the head for a French kiss, and whispering, “Baby, you’re so sweet”? Why the hell was he backing away!
Because of this retreat, Shu An showed no mercy and pressed forward another step, forcing Nie Yunshen to lose his balance and tumble back onto the bed.
