TYMRHBDES Chapter 177

The notification was from Zhou Jing.

**Zhou Jing:** The advertising team sent over some behind-the-scenes footage. It was a pleasure working with you, Luo Luo! /clinking glasses/clinking glasses

Puzzled, Jiang Luoluo clicked on the video.

It was a two-minute clip featuring highlights from their ad shoot, set to sweet music. Most of the footage showed them interacting.

As he watched, his eyes widened and he stammered, “That’s not how it happened, Pei Yu…”

The video showed Zhou Jing adjusting the brooch on his suit. In the next moment, he stood on tiptoe, leaned close to Zhou Jing’s cheek, and he turned his head obligingly, allowing him to kiss him.

To add fuel to the fire, pink heart emojis appeared on the screen.

It looked even more like they were together!

But that wasn’t the truth at all!

Why would he initiate a kiss with Zhou Jing?

Recalling the day’s events, Jiang Luoluo desperately explained:

“The photographer told me to hug Teacher Zhou, but I refused. Then he instructed me to stand on tiptoe and whisper in Zhou Jing’s ear. I never kissed him! Teacher Zhou just turned his head—nothing happened between us!”

“That’s not how it happened at all! I don’t know why it looks like that in the video…”

“And the order is wrong too! The brooch on my jacket was crooked, and Teacher Zhou was just helping me straighten it. I knew something was wrong the moment I took it off and ran to find you!”

“I’m not lying to you, Pei Yu…”

The petite beauty pinned beneath him pressed a soft hand against his chest, desperately trying to explain.

But the man’s eyes were dark and fathomless, leaving his utterly clueless about his true thoughts.

Jiang Luoluo lowered his lashes and whispered, “I know you don’t believe me, but I’m really not lying, Pei Yu…”

A single tear trembled on his lashes, making him look utterly pitiful.

Anyone who saw him would have found it impossible not to soften.

The darkness in Pei Yu’s eyes receded slightly, his most vulnerable spot touched. He gently brushed Jiang Luoluo’s eyelid, lowering his voice as if afraid of frightening him.

“I believe you.”

He pulled Jiang Luoluo into his arms, his embrace slowly tightening.

Unseen by Jiang Luoluo, the depths of those ink-black eyes remained icy cold.

Pei Yu stroked Jiang Luoluo’s head tenderly, his voice soft as he murmured:

“Don’t lie to me, darling.”

“Your husband loves you too much to lose you.”

“If I ever find out that your love for me is fake…”

“Then your husband might be capable of anything.”

Pei Yu threw himself into establishing his own entertainment company, becoming incredibly busy.

Jiang Luoluo had entered the entertainment industry primarily to experience a new life, so he didn’t take on many projects. He occasionally filmed commercials, appeared on variety shows, or streamed live, spending most of his free time visiting Pei Yu.

On a Saturday afternoon, Pei Yu finished work and returned home, but Jiang Luoluo hadn’t arrived yet.

He sat silently on the sofa, not uttering a word.

It wasn’t until he heard a sound at the door that Pei Yu glanced at his watch. It was already nine in the evening.

The housekeeper had prepared dinner and set it on the table.

Seeing Jiang Luoluo arrive, he smiled warmly. “Luo Luo’s here! Come eat quickly! Mr. Pei has been waiting for you for a long time.”

Jiang Luoluo glanced at the figure on the sofa and pursed his lips.

Clutching the contents of his bag tightly, he threw a childish tantrum, “I’m not eating.”

Then he stomped inside.

“Stop right there,” a cold voice cut through the air from the sofa, carrying the oppressive weight of a storm brewing.

“What’s this? After seeing another man, you can’t even spare me a glance?”

Described by Pei Yu as a “scumbag,” Jiang Luoluo puffed out his cheeks and immediately spotted the flaw in his words:

“You were spying on me all along!”

Jiang Luoluo turned, his beautiful almond eyes misted with tears, and pointed at Song Ci, who had followed Pei Yu in:

“I knew it! The way he was sneaking glances at me—someone must have been pulling the strings behind the scenes!”

Jiang Luoluo wrung his fingers.

Pei Yu is such a jerk!

He had promised not to talk to Song Ci behind his back, but he broke his word.

Now they were even teaming up to spy on him!

He had no idea when Pei Yu and Song Ci had become so close!

The man on the sofa slowly rose to his feet, taking measured steps until he stood before him.

The crisp, straight lines of Pei Yu’s tailored trousers filled his vision. His imposing presence was palpable, yet his words dripped with bitterness:

“Did you enjoy your meeting with Jiang Wei?”

Jiang Luoluo was already in a foul mood, and Pei Yu’s snide remark only fueled his anger.

He tilted his head defiantly, determined to provoke him:

“Yes, I did!”

Pei Yu watched his lips twitch into a forced smile, but there was no warmth in his eyes.

Jiang Luoluo felt a sudden chill at his expression.

But when Jiang Luoluo thought about what Pei Yu had done, a sudden surge of courage welled up within him. He demanded:

“Pei Yu, did you touch my phone a few days ago?”

Pei Yu looked at him. “Yes.”

Jiang Luoluo: “Did you block Jiang Wei and then delete him?”

Pei Yu’s voice was cold. “Yes.”

Jiang Luoluo tilted his head slightly upward and huffed loudly at Pei Yu.

“That’s outrageous!”

No wonder Jiang Wei couldn’t add him no matter how hard he tried.

Pei Yu ignored his huff, his expression unchanging. “Done asking? Then it’s my turn now.”

Pei Yu’s voice was calm and measured, yet icy to the core.

“Five hours. What did you two talk about?”

Already furious with Pei Yu, Jiang Luoluo stubbornly tilted his chin.

“What I talk about is none of your business.”

Pei Yu reached out and placed his hand on Jiang Luoluo’s waist. “Don’t push me, baby.”

“I’m not your baby anymore!” Jiang Luoluo slapped Pei Yu’s hand away and pointed at Song Ci. “He’s your new baby now. I stopped being your baby a long time ago!”

Song Ci, who had been observing the scene, finally saw his chance.

“Luo Luo, don’t misunderstand. Brother Pei and I—”

“Who’s your brother?!” Jiang Luoluo retorted instinctively.

“Shut up!” Pei Yu snapped coldly.

Two voices rang out simultaneously, cutting Song Ci off mid-sentence.

Song Ci awkwardly clamped his mouth shut.

Jiang Luoluo, startled by Pei Yu’s sudden shout, grew even angrier. He shoved Pei Yu hard, his soft, childish voice trembling with tears.

“Fine, I’ll shut up!”

“Go be with your precious little brother!”

With a furious glare at Pei Yu, he stomped off toward his room.

Pei Yu didn’t immediately chase after him. Instead, he turned to face the person behind him, his sharp eyes filled with cruel indifference.

“Song Ci.”

The man’s deep, magnetic voice carried a seductive quality that made Song Ci’s heart race.

Song Ci squirmed nervously as he replied, “Brother Pei, I volunteered to warn you.”

“Luo Luo is so famous now, everyone’s watching him. They know you’re pursuing him. If anyone finds out he’s secretly meeting other men behind your back, the public opinion will turn against you.”

“You know how vicious those gossip reporters can be. They’ll write anything…”

Pei Yu turned and strode toward Song Ci.

The man’s voice was devoid of emotion. “I didn’t expect you to be so thoughtful.”

Song Ci’s heart fluttered with joy. He lowered his head shyly. “A man as exceptional as you… anyone who met you would naturally be thoughtful…”

Pei Yu’s slender, well-defined fingers lifted and hovered near Song Ci’s face.

Overwhelmed by sudden happiness, Song Ci stammered, “Brother Pei, I—”

In the next instant, that hand abruptly and violently seized his throat.

The sparse air was squeezed out as the hand slowly tightened its grip, lifting Song Ci by the neck.

Pei Yu’s exquisitely carved face darkened to a terrifying degree, his pitch-black eyes radiating an indescribable menace.

“Since you’re so thoughtful,” he hissed, “if I wanted you dead, would you be proactive about that too?”

Song Ci’s face flushed crimson, the suffocating terror making him gasp hoarsely. His hands clawed desperately at Pei Yu’s unyielding grip.

But the man’s strength was overwhelming. Despite Song Ci’s frantic struggles, the hand remained immovable.

Song Ci’s eyes rolled back, his brain starved of oxygen, his toes lifting off the ground.

“Sir! Oh dear!” The nanny rushed over, frantically wiping her hands on her apron as she tried to intervene.

“Sir! You’ll kill him, sir!”

“He’s going to die, sir!”

Pei Yu remained expressionless, his grip unwavering.

The nanny paced frantically:

“This will end badly, sir!”

“If something happens to you, what will become of Luo Luo?!”

A dull thud echoed as Song Ci crashed to the floor.

Pei Yu shook his wrist, narrowed his eyes at the fallen man, his gaze icy:

“Get out.”

In the bedroom, Jiang Luoluo bolted the door, scrambled onto the bed, and burrowed under the covers.

Pei Yu is so infuriating! he thought bitterly.

He hadn’t been too angry when he learned Pei Yu had deleted Jiang Wei’s WeChat—just a little annoyed.

But now he discovered Pei Yu had grown so close to Song Ci!

They had even formed a united front to monitor him.

How infuriating!

The mere thought of Pei Yu sharing any intimacy with Song Ci made him seethe with rage, so intense he felt tears welling up.

And Pei Yu had even yelled at him for Song Ci’s sake!

Jiang Luoluo buried his face in the quilt, wiping his eyes with his fingers, leaving damp streaks between them.

Pei Yu was being utterly, utterly unreasonable.

I’m never talking to him again.

Jiang Luoluo sniffled, finally hearing footsteps approaching the door, followed by a knock.

Pei Yu’s voice came from outside: “Baby, open the door.”

Jiang Luoluo pretended not to hear, wrapping himself tighter in the blanket.

Pei Yu turned the doorknob, realizing it was locked.

The knocking stopped, and Pei Yu’s footsteps faded away.

Jiang Luoluo lay motionless under the blanket, tears streaming down his cheeks.

Pei Yu doesn’t want me anymore.

He must have gone to that annoying Song Ci.

He’s going to be with another man.

Soft sobs escaped from under the blanket, growing louder as the person inside felt increasingly wronged.

He was crying so intensely that he didn’t even notice the returning footsteps or the sound of a key sliding into the lock.
