ITF Chapter97

But then, turning the thought over in his mind, he added, “Their child will also likely be born in early summer, just like you.” He paused, a soft smile spreading across his eyes. “It will definitely be a beautiful child as well.”

The red wine sloshed out from the cup, its rich aroma escaping in all directions as the crimson liquid left several ambiguous streaks of moisture across those two fair, long legs.

Luo Congye hurriedly took the mostly overturned cup of wine and said to Bai Heting, “I’ll go get you a cloth.”

He forced his gaze away from those eye-catching thighs and with great effort turned around to leave. But before he could even take half a step, a hand suddenly reached out and firmly grasped his hand.

“I have something to say.” Bai Heting said.

Another half of the remaining wine in the cup spilled over.

Luo Congye turned his head back, his gaze shifting from their intertwined hands to that flushed face and finally tilted his head back to down the very last mouthful at the bottom of the cup.

The bed dipped instantly, and the rich scent of wine flooded Bai Heting’s senses and mouth in an overwhelming wave. Luo Congye’s tongue still carried the lingering notes of red wine as he pressed against Bai Heting’s soft lips, then murmured in a low voice, “Does the red wine smell better, or do I?”

The tequila pheromones in the air were flaring wildly, causing Bai Heting to knit his brows. “Are you seriously throwing a jealous tantrum over a cup of wine?”

Luo Congye rose onto his knees, grabbing Bai Heting’s legs to drag him closer to his chest, then supported the crook of his knees before leaning down to plant a kiss on his knee.

“En,” he told Bai Heting with absolute gravity. “I am petty.”

His lips traveled all the way down Bai Heting’s thigh, kissing away the stains of wine on his skin inch by inch.

Bai Heting suddenly raised his hand, pressing down against Luo Congye’s head.

“From now on,” he instructed, “don’t use suppression patches all the time.”

Hearing this, Luo Congye raised his head, displeased. “How come you’re not being petty?”

Bai Heting refused to let this childish brat drag him further into such a juvenile argument, merely stating, “Don’t let your pheromones go to waste.”

Luo Congye curled his lips disapprovingly. “I can defeat other Alphas even without using pheromones.”

“Don’t treat the battlefield like a child’s play—” Halfway through his sentence, Bai Heting’s body suddenly trembled violently, a whimpering sound squeezing out from his throat.

“What are you doing…” He tried to push Luo Congye’s head away again, only for his leg to be pinned down by Luo Congye with a single hand—

……

It had been far too long since his last release, and he nearly choked Luo Congye. Luo Congye steadied his breathing for a moment, lifted his head from between his legs, and leaned up to kiss his mouth.

With a sharp slap, Bai Heting pushed his face away with a sharp slap.

Having put in all that effort to serve someone well, only to be rewarded with a slap, Luo Congye took a few seconds to process it before saying speechlessly, “How can you be disgusted by your own stuff?”

Bai Heting tilted his head even further away, his expression of utter revulsion clear as day. “It’s filthy.”

Luo Congye wasn’t angry though. Since he couldn’t reach his mouth, he went to kiss that flushed ear instead.

“Did it feel good?” He exhaled a breath of hot air right into Bai Heting’s ear, whispering, “When I’m inside you, it feels even better than that…”

Bai Heting refused to give him another opportunity to derail the conversation, asking directly, “Do you want an heir too?”

Luo Congye froze.

His playful expression vanished under this highly suggestive question as he tried to search those beautiful eyes for any hint of teasing.

But there was none. Bai Heting was actually serious.

“Saying that kind of stuff while you’re completely naked is really dangerous.” His gaze drifted slightly to the side as he swept his peripheral vision over Bai Heting’s face, speaking hesitantly, “That kind of thing… everyone… thinks about it, right…?”

Bai Heting closed his eyes briefly. “Stop thinking about it. You won’t have one.”

The conversation had veered in a completely unexpected direction. Dumbfounded, Luo Congye snapped his gaze back over. “Why are you cursing me?”

Bai Heting remained silent for a moment before speaking slowly, “Jiang Han said…”

Luo Congye cut in anxiously, “Why are you bringing up someone else again?”

He wanted to cover that mouth again, but Bai Heting tilted his head to dodge his hand. “You just brought people up too.”

Luo Congye shot back immediately, “That’s different.”

Bai Heting asked, “How is it different?”

Luo Congye was instantly choked up by the question.

To tell the truth, he didn’t feel there was much difference between Jiang Han and Zhong Xiao or Lin Qian regarding this issue. But the moment he recalled the incredibly gentle, fluid way Bai Heting had massaged and bandaged Jiang Han, there wasn’t a single part of him that felt comfortable.

He was starting to envy Zhong Xiao all over again.

“I am petty.” Luo Congye emphasized once more.

Bai Heting had no patience to listen to his banter, raising his hand to block the face that was leaning in toward him again.

“Jiang Han said,” he stated with absolute precision, “I might no longer be able to conceive.”

The air seemed to freeze into solid ice.

Time flowed slowly in their quiet, locked gaze. Luo Congye showed no reaction for a long, drawn-out moment, and Bai Heting finally released the hand he had pressed against his lips.

“And,” he continued, “I will also never allow you to have children with another Omega.”

Luo Congye finally snapped out of his daze, his voice dropping cold. “What on earth are you talking about?”

“Therefore,” Bai Heting finished speaking with absolute composure, “you will not have any heirs.”

Staring at his calm and unbothered face, Luo Congye raised his hand, carefully placing it over the surgical scar on his abdomen.

“Someone tortured you.” His question carried absolute certainty, and the light in his eyes darkened heavily. “Was it Bai Jiashu’s doing?”

Bai Heting didn’t answer. Luo Congye closed his eyes, slowly exhaling a long, trembling breath.

“Was it a very severe injury?” He asked, his breathing tightly suppressed.

Bai Heting averted his gaze, merely stating, “I was careless.”

It suddenly occurred to him that perhaps he truly was cursed.

He had never genuinely secured the identity of being Bai Yi and Luo Wanyin’s son, yet much like Luo Wanyin, he had once nurtured a child all on his own, and now, much like Bai Yi, he could no longer have any new children.

He was cursed by the very bloodline flowing within his body.

Luo Congye looked at him quietly for a while, then raised his arms and pulled him into a tight embrace.

All those light, empty promises he had thrown out in the past now converged into a massive, heavy broadsword, hacking straight through his chest that was blocked up by thousands of unspoken words.

What could he possibly say?

He could no longer boastfully tell Bai Heting that he would never let anyone harm him again.

He had already broken his word.

Gritting his teeth, he remained silent for a long, drawn-out moment. In the end, he only forced out a single, arduous phrase, “I love you.”

He heard Bai Heting let out a very brief, soft chuckle right against his ear.

Yet no distinct emotion could be discerned from this laughter.

He held Bai Heting even tighter, and after a moment’s thought, added, “If you won’t let me look for other Omegas, then you have to stay with me for the rest of this life and all eternity.”

Burying his face into the crook of his neck, Bai Heting kept his eyes closed and asked, “If I’m not around, you’ll go look for someone else?”

“What on earth are you talking about?” Luo Congye turned his face to look at him while correcting him with absolute gravity and leaving no room for argument. “The emphasis of this sentence is that you have to stay with me for the rest of this life and all eternity.”
