After the summer solstice, Zhou Zefeng prepared to go abroad for intensive training, while also preparing to participate in a swimming competition far away in Hungary.

He and Lu Zhao were about to be separated for nearly two months, so they seized every single minute and second of their time together, as if they would never see each other again.

Zhou Zefeng was no longer satisfied with the tiny bit of space at Lu Zhao’s house. Under his relentless and persistent wear-down tactics, Lu Zhao moved into Zhou Zefeng’s apartment in the spring, and within less than three days, he knew every corner of Zhou Zefeng’s home like the back of his hand.

A week before the competition, the school started summer vacation, and Lu Zhao happened to be on leave as well, so he and Zhou Zefeng went to stay for a week in the legendary villa that Ms. Li had left for him.

The villa was built in the suburbs. It was originally an early investment by Ms. Li for her own retirement, but unexpectedly, before she could enjoy it, she went to heaven to become a fairy.

Zhou Zefeng originally thought the villa had been left unmanaged all year round and would need someone to clean it first. Unexpectedly, after inspecting the place, the cleaner complained to Zhou Zefeng with distress that the villa was as clean as a model home and there was really nothing to clean. However, before leaving, she still wiped down the leaves of the geraniums in the yard; otherwise, she would feel really uncomfortable not doing anything.

Zhou Zefeng guessed that Zhou Ruixuan had hired someone to clean it, so he sent him a text message: [Thank you for keeping someone cleaning my mom’s villa all this time, but I will be responsible for it in the future, no need to trouble yourself.]

The first thing Zhou Zefeng and Lu Zhao did upon arriving at the villa was to change the door passcode, and they also notified a locksmith to come change the lock on the outer iron gate.

“Do you think I’m very cold-blooded?” Zhou Zefeng asked.

Lu Zhao shook his head, “For someone who has done wrong, if you don’t want to forgive them, then don’t forgive them. There is no need to grant special leniency just because of family ties, or to wrong yourself just to force a happy, grand family reunion ending. When he hurt you and your mom, why didn’t he consider your feelings?”

Zhou Zefeng thought of Lu Zhao’s attitude toward Mei Shuting and nodded thoughtfully.

“Just deal with it distantly; there’s no need to constantly keep it in your heart,” Lu Zhao said. “Life is very short. You should stay with people who can make you happy.”

Zhou Zefeng smiled, “Then I know who that person is.”

Lu Zhao also looked at him and smiled, “What a coincidence, I know too.”
