EOD Chapter14

Supermarket

By the time Lu Zhao changed his clothes and came back, Zhou Zefeng had already rinsed the foam off Xuebing. When the man and the dog saw Lu Zhao appear at the door, they looked up at him in unison, showing 100% synchronization.

“I don’t know where the hairdryer is.”

Lu Zhao took the hairdryer out of the storage cabinet and pointed the nozzle at Xuebing to dry his fur, while Zhou Zefeng took charge of ruffling through the coat beside him.

“Come on, tell me what you’ve figured out.”

Before he could even ask over the phone, Zhou Zefeng had hung up and rushed straight to his doorstep. Now that the two of them were dividing the labor of drying the dog, Lu Zhao finally remembered to ask.

“I think… what I like might simply be having you take control.” Zhou Zefeng said, looking at Lu Zhao. “That feeling is amazing. It’s probably because of that that I keep wanting to see you.”

Lu Zhao nodded. This was pretty much what he had envisioned. A straight guy with zero sexual experience like Zhou Zefeng truly couldn’t resist that kind of temptation.

It was just that a fleeting sense of disappointment washed through Lu Zhao’s heart. What had he been expecting, and what had just fallen through? Did he honestly expect to turn a steel-straight guy gay with a single session of orgasm control, making him willingly lie beneath him to get screwed? That was nothing short of a pipe dream.

Still, Zhou Zefeng had finally taken the first step, so things wouldn’t be too difficult from here on out.

Lately, whenever Lu Zhao faced Zhou Zefeng, he had always been repressing himself and restraining himself from responding. Not only was he warning himself to stay away from straight guys to avoid trouble, but he was also being benevolent by not wanting the kid to go down the wrong path, and there was a bit of playing hard to get involved too. After baiting Zhou Zefeng for all these days and playing the gentleman for so long, Lu Zhao was about to reach his limit as well.

“So, what you mean is, you want to hook up for a milking session?”

“I don’t really understand your terminology, but that’s roughly what I mean.”

“Fine. How long has it been since you last jerked off?”

Zhou Zefeng blushed furiously, “About ten days or so, I think.”

“You still held back even after yesterday?”

Zhou Zefeng: “……”

What else was he supposed to do? Lu Zhao was the one who told him that day that he wasn’t allowed to jerk off for a week. If he had done it yesterday, wouldn’t he have to wait another week? He wasn’t stupid.

After finishing drying the tail, Lu Zhao declared the task a success. He switched off the hairdryer and stroked Xuebing while setting out his conditions. “Then let’s make one thing clear first. I record videos and upload them to Twitter. Your face won’t appear; you don’t mind, right?”

Zhou Zefeng shook his head.

He knew he was about to become that “Number 7.”

“If we’re both satisfied, we can make this a regular arrangement in the future. Or do you just want to try it one last time?”

Zhou Zefeng rubbed his nose. If possible, he wanted to see him every day, but what came out of his mouth was, “Up to you.”

“Alright.” Lu Zhao lifted his wrist to check his watch. “It’s getting late. We’ll talk about tonight later. Come out with me first to buy some groceries.”

“Buy groceries?”

“It’s Mid-Autumn Festival night; shouldn’t we improve our meals a bit?”

And so, Zhou Zefeng got into Lu Zhao’s car, and they drove all the way to the supermarket.

“Today is Mid-Autumn Festival, why didn’t you wait until tomorrow for a session?”

Lu Zhao walked ahead while Zhou Zefeng pushed the shopping cart behind him, watching as Lu Zhao casually tossed ingredients into it; everything from meat to vegetables, all intended for hot pot.

Zhou Zefeng silently took two more portions of the items Lu Zhao had picked and put them into the cart, saying, “My family isn’t from around here, so I have nowhere to go tonight.”

“Then have dinner at my place tonight, I’ll grab an extra portion.” Lu Zhao stopped and turned back, only to find that Zhou Zefeng had already smuggled a ton of food into the shopping cart. “You picked all of these?”

Zhou Zefeng was completely unjustified yet totally confident, “I was being thoughtful so you wouldn’t have to walk back.”

“You really don’t treat yourself like a stranger,” Lu Zhao glanced at him and asked, “Is there anything you want to eat?”

Zhou Zefeng smiled, revealing a neat row of white teeth, “I want oranges.”

When they reached the fruit section, Lu Zhao picked up a bag of oranges and a bag of tangerines. Just as he was about to extend his claws toward the pile of small mandarins, Zhou Zefeng grabbed his hand.

“Are you going to finish all of that by yourself?” Zhou Zefeng was both amused and exasperated.

Lu Zhao eyed him, “Didn’t you want to eat them? And aren’t you a person?”

Zhou Zefeng: “……”

“Let’s buy some other things then.” Zhou Zefeng picked up two pomelos, weighed a few peaches, and put them into the cart.

Lu Zhao frowned, “I don’t eat pomelos. They’re too much of a hassle to peel.”

“I love them.” Zhou Zefeng patted the large pomelo. “If you find it troublesome, then don’t eat it.”

This arrogant, high-and-mighty tone made it sound as if he were the one paying for the stuff. Lu Zhao sighed inwardly; catching a straight guy really meant having to hold back one’s temper.

As the two of them strolled along, they eventually reached the toy and musical instrument section.

The moment Zhou Zefeng saw the toys, his childhood DNA kicked in. He wandered around and ended up having a tense, brief match against two little kids at a basketball hoop that only reached his waist. In the end, he didn’t take any toys. Just as he was internally marveling at how grown and mature he had become for knowing how to suppress his desires, he spotted Lu Zhao standing before a digital piano not far away.

Zhou Zefeng walked closer and noticed that Lu Zhao seemed to be standing there lost in thought. Zhou Zefeng snapped his fingers in front of his face, and only then did Lu Zhao come back to reality.

“Can you play?” Zhou Zefeng tapped a key with his index finger, producing a dull “do” sound.

Lu Zhao shook his head and said, “I used to know how, but not anymore.”

Zhou Zefeng could see that Lu Zhao’s fingers were itching to play, but he was just feeling self-conscious in the crowded mall. Taking Lu Zhao’s hands, Zhou Zefeng guided him down onto the piano bench and placed his hands on the keys.

“Don’t dawdle.”

Zhou Zefeng thought to himself that with hands as beautiful as Lu Zhao’s, playing the piano would definitely look even more stunning.

Lu Zhao sat on the piano bench in silence for a moment before placing his left and right hands into position as if gathering his courage.

Zhou Zefeng recognized the piece Lu Zhao was playing; it was Bach’s [The Well-Tempered Clavier], Book 1, [Prelude No. 1 in C Major]. The piece wasn’t particularly difficult, and every note Lu Zhao played was correct, yet his hands pressing down on the keys seemed weak and limp as if he couldn’t control his strength. As a result, the entire piece fluctuated wildly between loud and soft, lacking any proper dynamics or rhythm.

The children gathered nearby had been watching with eager anticipation, but upon hearing this performance, they couldn’t help bursting into laughter.

With a blank expression on his face, Lu Zhao insisted on finishing the piece. Just as he was about to close the keyboard lid, Zhou Zefeng stopped him.

Pulling Lu Zhao up, Zhou Zefeng grinned at the two kids nearby and said, “He’s no good. Watch me show you guys how it’s done.”

Zhou Zefeng played a rendition of [Twinkle Twinkle Little Star] that was completely out of tune and riddled with mistakes, sending the two kids into fits of laughter on the floor. When he finished, he didn’t forget to flaunt it to Lu Zhao< “How’s that? Sounds good, right?”

Lu Zhao knew Zhou Zefeng was trying to save him from embarrassment, but he didn’t actually care about losing face; he had simply wanted to play the piano on a whim.

Zhou Zefeng doing this was truly a bit redundant.

“Not great. It sounded terrible.”

Zhou Zefeng raised his arm and threw it around Lu Zhao’s shoulders in a standard straight-guy headlock. Lu Zhao, however, suddenly reached up and stroked Zhou Zefeng’s head, causing Zhou Zefeng’s movement to freeze completely right against Lu Zhao’s neck.

Lu Zhao broke character and laughed, whispering in Zhou Zefeng’s ear, “This dog head of yours is actually quite nice to pet.”
