DFYMHGFS Chapter 83

Way to go, kid! Mom and Dad really underestimated you!

83 – Way to go, kid! Mom and Dad really underestimated you!

Lu Tianshen was still struggling to come to terms with reality, despite being in the same bed as An Xing.

Everything that had happened today unfolded far too suddenly. He’d assumed that, after confessing his feelings to An Xing, he’d need to wait at least another year or two for him to agree to their relationship.

Lu Tianshen wasn’t worried that An Xing would reject him — after all, they had grown up together and no one knew him better. The little fool just hadn’t caught on yet. Even when he did, there was no way he could fall for anyone but Lu Tianshen.

Mr Lu was usually spot on with his predictions, never overly pessimistic or optimistic — except when it came to An Xing.

Last time, he had been overly optimistic, thinking the little fool understood his feelings. This time, he was overly pessimistic, convinced that he still had a long way to win him over.

So, even now, he felt a sense of almost unreal accomplishment at his successful confession.

Succeeding in confessing his feelings already felt surreal enough; fast-forwarding to sharing a bed together felt downright surreal.

An Xing was sprawled across the bed, playing with his phone and completely oblivious to Mr Lu’s current turmoil and doubts. After replying to a few messages, he rolled over effortlessly and burrowed into the man’s embrace.

‘Brother Shen, my friend said there’s a craft fair in Tang City next week. My exams are finally over — will you come with me?”

When there was no reply after a long pause, An Xing turned his head in confusion. He saw the man holding him with one arm, his eyes staring blankly ahead.

An Xing’s eyes widened in shock. Good heavens! They’d already kissed — how could Brother Shen still be in such a daze?

Did he need a few more kisses?

Recalling the taste of their kiss, the boy felt a surge of desire. He happily leaned in and planted a smack on the man’s cheek.

“Boyfriend, please~”

Lu Tianshen was utterly bewildered. The person he adored was curled up in his arms, sweetly coaxing him. They were even going to sleep in the same bed tonight. No man in his prime could resist this.

Still, he gently held the boy, murmuring softly:

“All right, I’ll go with you to the exhibition.”

An Xing was thoroughly satisfied, adding teasingly, ‘But if you’re too busy, it’s fine. I won’t disturb your work.’

The boy’s eyes widened and his ears twitched as he waited for the man’s reply. Even when acting obedient and sensible, he was exceptionally adorable.

Lu Tianchen burst into laughter.

‘I’ll arrange my work in advance. Don’t worry. Accompanying you to the exhibition? I’ll definitely make time for that.’

An Xing was satisfied, thinking that his Shen Ge had become so eloquent since falling in love. He nuzzled over like a spoiled child and snuggled close to the man.

Lu Tianshen instantly felt the pressure mounting.

The boy had always been clingy, even as a child. Even before they started dating, he loved to stick close. He had seen the little guy trying to stick close countless times this evening, now that they are in a relationship.

Considering they would be sharing a bed tonight, Lu Tianchen decided he needed to distract An Xing.

While there was nothing wrong with two consenting adults doing what they wanted, Lu Tianchen instinctively felt that taking the little fool to bed without formal approval from the An family could lead to furious retaliation from both the An and Shen clans.

He wasn’t eager to take things all the way tonight either.

Although An Xing had accepted his advances and was willing to be with him, as the older partner he felt he should take responsibility and consider everything more thoroughly. What if the young man regretted it someday?
Instead of dwelling on the thought, he turned on the TV and asked, “Do you want to watch a movie tonight?”
An Xing had no objections. Having just gained a boyfriend, and not being particularly sleepy, he nodded in agreement.
“Sure! Let’s watch something exciting!”
Lu Tianshen, who had initially considered a romantic film, paused. After scrolling through the list again, he finally settled on a superhero movie for the young man.
The film proved rather dull. The plot seemed to force conflict for conflict’s sake, and Lu Tianshen couldn’t connect with it at all. After watching for a while, An Xing also found it uninteresting. Only his determination to see things through kept him watching until the end.
The tedious plot made An Xing drowsy, but he fought it off until the final scene — a forced reunion — faded to black. His eyes rolled back instantly and he fell asleep in Lu Tianchen’s arms.
The man silently exhaled in relief. Throughout the film, he had been wondering how he would refuse if An Xing made a move.
Yet after all that mental exertion, the guy only wanted to sleep. Not sleep with him.
But that was fine, too. He turned off the lights, pulled the boy close and tucked him under the covers.
Watching him fall asleep so quickly, Lu Tianchen finally felt a sense of reality. He stared at the sleeping face in his arms for a long time before slowly closing his own eyes and pulling the boy closer.

Just before falling asleep, he felt like he had forgotten something.

But what exactly had he forgotten?

*
When An Xing woke up, it was already noon the next day.

Their master bedroom had floor-to-ceiling windows. He’d seen last night that the view outside looked straight out onto the hot spring pool, with a small forest beyond. Soaking in the hot spring while watching the snowfall would be absolutely wonderful.

The curtains were drawn now, casting the room in deep shadow. Sensing the man’s arms wrapped around him, An Xing didn’t even open his eyes. He simply nuzzled his head forward, rubbing it firmly against his shoulder.

A familiar hand stroked his head. An Xing shivered with pleasure, his ears twitching, before opening his eyes.

Meeting the man’s gentle gaze, An Xing felt his heart fill with sweetness first thing in the morning. He planted a smacking kiss on the corner of his mouth, bursting with energy.

“Good morning, boyfriend!”

Lu Tianchen’s complexion looked inexplicably haggard, with a hint of dark circles under his eyes. Yet upon hearing the word “boyfriend,” a faint smile still touched his lips.

“Good morning, Xingxing.”

His deep voice, still hoarse and lazy from sleep, sounded incredibly pleasant. An Xing was in a great mood, rolling around in bed until the covers slid off.

The room was warm from the heater, and An Xing was wearing pajamas, so he wasn’t cold. Lu Tianchen didn’t tuck him in again, but got up to grab the phone by the bed.

“It’s almost noon. Do you want to stick with the fireplace, or have some barbecue? Or should I order room service?”

An Xing had been wondering why Lu Tianchen hadn’t slept well, but hearing this, he was a bit surprised.

“Aren’t we going home? Didn’t you tell Dad we’d return this morning?”

Mentioning that made An Xing feel so annoyed! Who goes up a mountain to stargaze and then leaves first thing the next morning?

In his imagination, this kind of date should last the whole weekend—stargazing, hiking, then soaking in hot springs.

—Though he couldn’t have known back then, now that he’d accepted Chen Ge’s pursuit, shouldn’t they make the most of their time on the mountain?

“Hiking! Hot springs!”

The boy stared with wide, almond-shaped eyes, looking pitifully at the man.

Lu Tianchen’s heart softened at that gaze.

“Hot springs are fine, but climbing is out of the question. It’s snowing outside—it’s unsafe to hike now, and it’s unsafe to drive down either.”

Lu Tianchen explained patiently.

“Aren’t you afraid of car accidents? We can wait until the snow stops this afternoon before heading down. As long as the road isn’t icy, driving slowly will be perfectly safe.” ”

An Xing paused, surprised that the man remembered his fear of car accidents. His heart warmed, and he stopped playing the victim. He even wanted to lean in and kiss his brand-new boyfriend again.

Unfortunately, the man was completely oblivious to romance. After the young man was satisfied with his explanation, he turned to make a call, ordering breakfast from the hotel front desk.

By the time they finished washing up and sat down at the table, both were feeling hungry. Sitting by the floor-to-ceiling windows, eating the hotel breakfast while watching the snowfall was actually quite pleasant.

Just then, a call came in from the An family.

“Xingxing, it’s snowing this morning. Don’t rush back so early. Wait until the sun comes out this afternoon, then take your time driving back.”

The An family had also attended the Christmas banquet last night, returning home late and sleeping in this morning. An Zhaoming, Shen Ying, and An Rong were now seated at their breakfast table. Shen Ying gently reminded her son to drive safely and not rush back.

An Xing cheerfully greeted his family and nodded obediently.

“Sure, Mom. We’ll head back this afternoon—that’s what Brother Shen planned too.”

He shifted closer to the camera, pulling Lu Tianchen into the frame. The An family greeted Lu Tianchen warmly.

The man responded to each greeting with gentle politeness.

“Tianchen, someone at last night’s banquet asked why you weren’t there.”

An Zhaoming seemed to recall something, smiling as he teased.

“And that Mr. Wang from XX Company? He mentioned yesterday he wanted to set you up with someone! Hahaha!”

Lu Tianshen: …

An Zhaoming brought up the topic without any ulterior motive, merely finding it amusing and wanting to share. He knew his little dumpling wouldn’t get jealous over it, so he casually mentioned it without much thought.

Overhearing this, An Xing perked up his ears and squeezed closer, joining Lu Tianchen in and crowding the screen. He solemnly addressed his family:

“Next time someone tries to set Brother Chen up, you can tell them he’s already taken.”

“I’m already with Brother Chen!”

The An family: …

The entire An family was stunned. Even An Rong, who had remained silent until now, abruptly looked up, his phoenix-like eyes widening in shock.

What the hell?! It was just one night—how could the little idiot have agreed to be with Lu Tianchen?!

What the hell happened last night?!

In an instant, the An family’s gaze toward Lu Tianchen turned intensely unfriendly, even vicious. It wasn’t surprising they jumped to conclusions—before leaving home, this little fool hadn’t even considered such things. How could one night pass and their precious cabbage be snatched away by a pig?

Yet upon closer inspection, they noticed something off about the pair.

How could one night have transformed their little fool into this vibrant, energetic being? Meanwhile, Lu Tianchen looked inexplicably listless, with dark circles under his eyes?

An Rong tentatively asked:

“Did you two… sleep together last night?”

“Yes!”

An Xing tilted his head in confusion, utterly convinced of his reasoning.

“When you’re dating, of course you sleep in the same bed!”

An Zhaoming and Shen Ying gasped, their shocked yet admiring gazes fixed on their son.

Way to go, kid! Mom and Dad really underestimated you!

An Xing: ?

Lu Tianchen: …
