“Are you sure about that?”

The cryptic question made Minato frown, which only seemed to amuse Ogiwara.

“You’re being watched… from the moment you walked out, Hosokawa-sensei.”

During the spring intensive courses, there were more students than usual. Since the class schedules were selectable, students left at different times, and parents arrived to pick them up accordingly.

Several parents whom Minato recognized were waiting for their children to come out. The moment their eyes met Minato’s, they greeted him with bright smiles, their curious gazes shifting between Minato and Ogiwara standing beside him.

It was now widely understood that anyone curious about Ogiwara could simply ask Minato. The thought of what kind of rumors might spread if an argument occurred here was exhausting to even consider.

“Getting in the car quietly is probably the most peaceful way to resolve this,” Ogiwara suggested.

“…Fine. But only as far as the nearest station,” Minato replied.

Ogiwara chuckled softly as Minato followed him toward the car.

***

“Please don’t do things like that. Drawing attention in public is troublesome,” Minato said quickly from the passenger seat.

Sitting in the driver’s seat, Ogiwara shrugged his broad shoulders.

“You can just say you coincidentally reunited with an old student. But more importantly, Minato-sensei, isn’t it time you stopped using formal speech with me?”

As Ogiwara fastened his seatbelt and started the engine, he glanced at Minato, clearly waiting for a response. When Minato didn’t respond, Ogiwara sighed in exasperation and reached toward him. Reflexively, Minato flinched back, but Ogiwara grabbed his shoulder and pulled the seatbelt across him.

“Ten years ago, you didn’t speak to me formally. Please continue to do so from now on.”

Relieved when Ogiwara withdrew, Minato looked at him in confusion.

“…From now on?”

His soft voice was drowned out by the sound of the engine as the car began to move. Minato frowned, sensing a bad premonition.

“Don’t tell me you think things ended last night?” Ogiwara’s matter-of-fact tone made Minato’s head snap up. Seeing his reaction, Ogiwara smirked.

“Ten years ago, you said you’d do anything within your power to make up for restricting my life. So, entertain me for a while longer. Until I get bored, that is.”

The words were clear, but Minato didn’t want to comprehend their meaning. As Ogiwara chuckled softly, his hand brushed along the side seam of Minato’s slacks. Minato swatted it away reflexively.

“That was… only for last night.”

“Oh? So my future and my knee were worth that little to you?”

Ogiwara’s mocking tone made it impossible for Minato to respond. He searched desperately for words.

“I heard from Irino-kun that you’re living with a girlfriend,” Minato said.

“And is that any of your concern?”

The smile Ogiwara directed at him turned icy and sharp. The sudden shift in atmosphere made Minato shrink back.

“This isn’t a bad deal for either of us. I’d say we’re very compatible,” Ogiwara said casually.

“Compatible?”

“I’m talking about physically, not emotionally. Ten years ago, you seemed to enjoy yourself quite a lot. When you suddenly disappeared, it left me very unsatisfied. It’d be a shame to let you go so easily now.”

Ogiwara’s words, deliberately slow and laced with mockery, ended with a smile as he lightly touched the back of Minato’s knee.

“And what if I said no?”

“Do you think you’re in a position to say that?”

His words cut through the air like a sneer. While Minato sat frozen, Ogiwara parked the car and turned toward him. His expression, though smiling, didn’t convey warmth.

“This is what they call reaping what you sow, isn’t it? —Give it up. After all, you’re the one who taught me about lusting for a man’s body, Minato-sensei.”

Ogiwara chuckled softly, then turned off the engine and stepped out of the car. Minato watched him in silence, holding his breath. Ogiwara circled the car and opened the passenger-side door, making Minato feel a sense of déjà vu.

Looking around nervously, Minato’s eyes widened in surprise.

“This place…”

“You’re not feeling well, are you? Last night was pretty intense.—And you seemed to enjoy it quite a bit.”

Ogiwara’s initially considerate words turned into teasing by the end. Gritting his teeth, Minato glared back at him.

“…Thank you for your concern. But I’ll go home alone from here.”

The coin-operated parking lot where Ogiwara had parked the car was visible from Minato’s apartment window. It was only a two-minute walk from there.

“Do you really think I’d let you walk home alone?”

“Sorry, but I don’t like having people in my home.”

Minato had anticipated Ogiwara’s response. If Ogiwara’s only intention had been to drop him off, he wouldn’t have bothered parking here.

Even so, tonight, of all nights, Minato wished to be left alone.

He couldn’t defy Ogiwara’s demands. If it was to atone for the injury to his right knee, he had no choice but to comply. Even if it wasn’t brought up, Minato knew he’d eventually give in, driven by the feelings he had realized last night.

Still, he wanted to prepare himself. He wanted to draw a clear boundary for his own sake against this younger man who reached for him only out of convenience.

“…I see.”

Ogiwara smiled faintly, a gesture that only heightened Minato’s sense of unease.

As Minato stiffened, pressing his back against the seat like a cornered animal, Ogiwara placed one foot on the car door frame and leaned in. Then, without warning, he stole Minato’s breath with a kiss.

“—Mmph!”

Minato pushed back with all his strength, twisting his neck to escape the grip on his chin and turning his face away. When he heard Ogiwara chuckle, he glared up at him with genuine anger.

“What do you think you’re doing…!”

It was a residential neighborhood, after all. Although it was nighttime, it wasn’t late enough for the streets to be deserted. People frequently passed by, and cars were still entering and leaving the parking lot.

“If you won’t let me inside your apartment, I’ll just have to settle for the car.”

“B-but you said last night it was too cramped to—”

“―That’s what I thought last night. But today, I’m reconsidering. It’s not so bad after all. Don’t worry, the car is high enough off the ground that it’s not easy to see inside. Of course, with the way it’ll move, anyone nearby will know exactly what’s going on.”

As he spoke, Ogiwara grabbed Minato’s struggling arms and pinned them down on the seat. He leaned in to kiss Minato’s neck, leaving a sting as his teeth grazed the skin.

The passenger side was next to the wall of a building, making it less visible to passersby. But that didn’t guarantee privacy. If another car pulled into the lot, depending on where it parked, everything would be in plain view.

“…You’ve got to be kidding.”

“Do I sound like I’m kidding? I’m quite serious. Or is it still not enough for you?”

“If someone sees us, it’ll be trouble for you too.”

“It wouldn’t bother me. I don’t live in this area, so I couldn’t care less about any rumors. You, on the other hand, have a lot more to lose, don’t you, Minato-sensei?”

Ogiwara whispered near Minato’s ear, and just imagining the expression he might be wearing made Minato’s breath catch.

As Minato fought to steady himself, a low rumbling sound came from nearby. It wasn’t a passing car—it was one that paused, signaling its intention to park.

“A car just pulled in. If it parks next to us, they’ll see everything,” Ogiwara said casually.

“…Fine. Fine, I get it.”

Minato knew he shouldn’t give in, but he couldn’t think of any other way to respond.

Ogiwara pressed his forehead against Minato’s and smiled gleefully. After a quick, teasing kiss, he leaned back just as a small, unfamiliar vehicle backed into an adjacent parking spot.
