Lien turned his pleading gaze toward me for help, and I stepped in to mediate.

“I don’t mind. Birthdays come every year, after all. Let’s start by cleaning together!”

I ushered them both inside and got to work. We opened all the windows to let in fresh air and began wiping down the dusty furniture. The sofa and bed were covered with protective sheets, so they were in decent condition once we removed them.

“That didn’t take as long as I thought.”

“Yes, I’m glad we didn’t waste too much of Charles Nii-san’s precious birthday cleaning.”

“I already said I’m sorry!”

Jade and Lien started bickering playfully, just like they used to when we were kids.

“You two really get along well.”

“Do we?”

“Jade and I are more like rivals in love than siblings.”

“Well, I suppose that’s true.”

Rivals in love?

I tilted my head in confusion, and they both chuckled as if amused.

“Lien and I used to compete over you, Charles Nii-san. Now we’ve agreed to love you together. But honestly, I’d prefer to have you all to myself.”

“That’s right, Charles Nii-sama. If you hadn’t insisted that it had to be the three of us, Jade and I would probably still be fighting over you.”

As I looked up at them, uneasy about the slightly intimidating atmosphere, they both reached out to touch me.

“Ah, I planned to relax at the lodge today, but now I’m starting to really want you, Charles Nii-san.”

“Agreed. It’s your birthday, so we should make sure you feel as good as possible.”

“Wait, hold on, you two…”

Their hands began roaming over my back and neck, touching sensitive spots. We had come to the lodge intending to relax, but the way they touched me made me crave more.

“Charles Nii-sama, can I kiss you?” Lien asked in a sweet voice.

I nodded slightly, and he pressed his lips to mine, starting with a tender kiss that deepened into something more as his tongue slipped into my mouth. My body began to react.

Jade, observing my response, embraced me from behind and buried his face in my neck.

“No matter how old you get, you’re still adorable, Charles Nii-san. Why are you so cute?”

I wanted to retort that I had no idea, but my mouth was occupied by Lien. Meanwhile, Jade undid the buttons on my shirt, kissing my neck repeatedly. When all the buttons were undone, his fingers grazed over my chest, teasing sensitive spots, and a voice escaped my lips.

By the time we returned to the manor, the sun had set and the surroundings had grown dark. My 32nd birthday, spent indulging in desire, was now nearly over. As I was about to return to my room to change, Lien called out to me.

“Hey, Nii-sama, do you have some time tonight?”

“Hm? Ah, sure.”

“Then I’ll come get you in your room tonight, so please wait for me.”

“Okay, but… is something the matter?”

“It’s a secret.”

“Eh, so you two know but I’m left out?”

“It’s a secret!”

“Haha, alright, alright.”

I had worried that they might have some consultation, but it seemed to be a needless concern.

After dinner, I waited obediently in my room, and soon there was a knock at the door. The two of them had arrived.

“Charles Nii-sama, we’d like you to come to Jade’s room.”

“Okay.”

“Then, shall we go?”

Even though we were just going to Jade’s room, for some reason the two of them offered their hands separately. Puzzled, I took their hands and walked the short distance to Jade’s room.

Arriving at the door, I was asked to close my eyes.

As I shut my eyelids, I heard the door open, and guided by the two, I entered the room.

“Charles Nii-san, please open your eyes.”

Obeying, I opened my eyes to a fantastical scene, with the flickering candlelight casting a mystical glow.

“Wow…”

The moonlight streaming in from the large window made it even more mysterious. As I marveled at the beautiful sight, I was ushered further into the room.

There stood an altar-like structure, reminiscent of a church.

“This is…”

Looking at the two, Jade and Lien were gazing at me with an unusually serious expression, still holding my hands.  The countless candles cast a wavering light on their beautiful faces.

“Charles Nii-san… Since I was young, I’ve been in love with you. You’re the only one for me. I’ll devote my life to making you happy. Please stay by my side forever. Charles Nii-san, I love you.”

“Charles Nii-sama. I love everything about you, your kindness, your cuteness, and even your tendency to cry a little… I want to make sure you can always smile. So, I want you to be by my side. Charles Nii-sama, I love you.”

“Lien… Jade…”

Their words squeezed my heart. Tears of joy welled up in my eyes and spilled down my cheeks. Jade and Lien gently narrowed their eyes and wiped away my tears with their fingertips.

I struggled to find the words to respond to their declarations of love.

“…I love you too, Jade and Lien. I want to walk alongside you both from now on. No matter what happens, I want to be with you forever.”

As I conveyed my feelings anew, Jade and Lien placed kisses on my cheeks. The ticklish sensation made the corners of my mouth curve upwards, and I kissed their cheeks as well.

Then the two of them opened a small box placed on the altar in front of me.

Inside the box were three rings.

“Nii-san, let me have your hand.”

Jade lifted my left hand, and Lien took a silver ring from the box.

The small three stones set in the ring sparkled in the moonlight.

“The stones in the rings are the colors of our eyes – amethyst on the sides, and a pale blue diamond in the center. Amethyst symbolizes ‘true love’, and the blue diamond ‘eternal happiness’.”

“We will envelop Charles Nii-sama in our love, and offer you eternal happiness.”

Jade and Lien said, sliding the ring onto my ring finger at the same time. Gazing at the gleaming ring, my heart felt like it would burst from how cherished the two of them were to me.

“I’m so happy. The rings are beautiful…”

“The ring suits you very well, Nii-san.”

“Yeah, the ring looks so pretty!”

“Thank you. Can I put rings on the two of you as well?”

As they smiled, I put rings on Jade and Lien’s fingers.

It took some time due to my nervousness, but I managed to get them on. When I looked at them with joy, they smiled back at me.

In times of sadness, pain, happiness, and tranquility, the two of them have always been by my side.

Even when I was afraid and tried to run away from my first life, they accepted all of me.

They are the most precious existence in this life.

It’s because the two of them were there that I was able to become this happy in this world where I got a second chance.

We exchanged vows of love. As we gazed at the rings shining on our left fingers, we smiled at each other time and again.

This promise will surely be eternal, and I will keep falling in love with Jade and Lien over and over again. Gazing into the beloved amethyst-colored eyes looking at me, I smiled.

“Jade, Lien. I love you.”
