AMBTICBPIB Chapter 78

No Hugging Other People's Shoulders

In a private dining room at a restaurant, a table of young men was gathered. After exiting the room, a waitress excitedly told her colleagues that every guy inside was incredibly handsome.

The room was buzzing with energy.

Ever since Chu Yi arrived, the atmosphere had become even livelier. It felt like ages since they’d last seen him, and everyone crowded around, eager to catch a glimpse of the Little Lucky Star.

“Do you have any photos of Little Lucky Star? We want to see him! Jiang Xu’s the only one who’s seen him—that’s so unfair!”

“Wow, Little Lucky Star is so adorable! My downstairs neighbor’s kid is about the same age, but he’s nowhere near as cute.”

“When Little Lucky Star grows up, he’s definitely going to be a heartthrob.”

“Absolutely! With Chu Yi’s husband being so handsome and Chu Yi himself being so beautiful, their child is bound to surpass them both.”

“Even as a baby, Little Lucky Star already has that CEO aura. Imagine how many people he’ll charm when he’s older!”

“Oh my god! If I hadn’t seen you pregnant, I’d never believe you had a baby, even if you told me yourself!”

“Exactly! Chu Yi, you haven’t changed at all! In fact, you look even more beautiful than before.”

“You really do! And you seem even more vibrant than before, Chu Yi.”

The Chu Yi they saw was full of energy, radiating youthful joy from head to toe. He didn’t look like someone who had just given birth at all.

He was still the same carefree young man, his eyes shining with the same bright, pure light.

Some of the classmates had seen their own sisters become somewhat haggard after childbirth, but Chu Yi showed no signs of fatigue whatsoever.

This was only natural.

Shen Jin never let Chu Yi worry about anything, constantly doting on him.

*To love someone is like nurturing a flower.* Shen Jin meticulously cared for Chu Yi, ensuring he remained the same carefree, happy Chu Yi who had no need to worry about anything.

Little Lucky Star was not only cared for by four Nanny Yues but also received meticulous attention from Shen Jin and Uncle Wen. Aunt Wu and the others also helped out regularly. Chu Yi spent his days happily playing with Little Lucky Star, almost becoming a child himself.

Even now, Chu Yi still didn’t know how to change Little Lucky Star’s diapers. Shen Jin insisted he didn’t need to learn, saying Little Lucky Star would grow up soon and wouldn’t need diapers anymore. He told Chu Yi not to worry about such trivial matters.

Chu Yi found Shen Jin’s reasoning quite sound, so whenever it was time to change Little Lucky Star’s diaper, he would simply carry the baby to his husband.

Sometimes, when Shen Jin bathed Little Lucky Star, Chu Yi would sit nearby and play with the baby. He gleefully put on the little baby bathing cap Shen Jin had bought for Little Lucky Star.

Wearing the cap made Little Lucky Star even more adorable. Chu Yi couldn’t resist taking a photo with his phone. “When Little Lucky Star grows up, I’ll show him these pictures from when he was little.”

Little Lucky Star sat in his small bathtub, splashing and playing with the water. Chu Yi sat on a small stool beside him, joining in the fun. Both loved playing with water, and soon the tub was nearly emptied as father and son splashed and slapped the water out, soaking the floor.

Chu Yi’s clothes and Shen Jin’s clothes were both drenched.

Little Lucky Star giggled, his laughter remarkably similar to his young father’s.

Shen Jin watched his two “children” with a mixture of helplessness and tender amusement. As he washed Little Lucky Star’s hair, he reached out to wipe water droplets from Chu Yi’s face. It was as if he were an adult caring for two little kids.

The scene of the three of them together radiated warmth and happiness.

After bathing Little Lucky Star, Shen Jin pulled the soaking wet Chu Yi into the bathroom to bathe his “big kid” as well.

Seeing photos of Little Lucky Star, Chu Yi’s classmates were filled with envy. Chu Yi was so far ahead of them; by the time he graduated from university, Little Lucky Star would already be starting kindergarten. It was truly enviable.

During dinner, Jiang Xu asked Chu Yi, “Are you still keeping up with your studies?”

“Yes, I’m still studying,” Chu Yi replied. “Thank you for the notes. They’re so comprehensive and clear—everything makes perfect sense at a glance.” Chu Yi was naturally bright and rarely struggled with his studies.

If anyone else had said this, Jiang Xu would have assumed they were just being polite. But when Chu Yi said it, he believed it wholeheartedly. Knowing Chu Yi hadn’t neglected his studies put Jiang Xu at ease, reassured that Chu Yi would be back in their class when the new semester started.

Jiang Xu was pleased he could help Chu Yi with his studies. “If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask me anytime.”

Having been away from school for so long, Chu Yi felt a pang of nostalgia. Jiang Xu and the others filled him in on what he’d missed—mostly just classes and club activities.

Jiang Xu patted Chu Yi on the shoulder. “Don’t worry. In just three months, you’ll be back here taking classes with us again.”

Chu Yi nodded. “You’re right. Time really flies.”

A classmate suggested, “Come on, let’s raise a toast! It’s been ages since we’ve all been together.”

Chu Yi hadn’t had a proper outing with his classmates in over a year.

Before leaving, Shen Jin had promised him he could relax, have fun, and drink as much as he wanted. Chu Yi had excitedly hugged Shen Jin, exclaiming, “Shen Jin, you’re the best!”

With Shen Jin’s permission, Chu Yi drank some beer at the gathering.

After dinner, Chu Yi and Jiang Xu led the group to their usual karaoke spot—the same club they’d frequented before.

The manager personally greeted them upon arrival, escorting them to the club’s most luxurious private room.

Having received advance notice from Shen Jin, the manager ensured Chu Yi and his friends were treated royally. Snacks, fresh fruit, and drinks were brought in, including fresh salmon, caviar, and a bottle of premium red wine—enough to fill the entire table.

The classmates stared in awe at the lavish spread.

“Wow, so much food! Chu Yi, your husband is so generous!”

“Let’s all thank Chu Yi and his husband!”

Chu Yi smiled bashfully.

While everyone was eating, drinking, and singing, Chu Yi texted Shen Jin, forwarding him all the messages of gratitude from their classmates.

Having not hung out with his classmates in so long, Chu Yi and his friends were having a blast, enjoying themselves to the fullest.

At eleven that night, they parted ways at the club entrance.

Chu Yi saw Zhou Huaixiao arriving to pick up Jiang Xu.

“I thought you’d join us tonight,” Chu Yi said.

Jiang Xu, flushed from the alcohol and in high spirits, glanced at his boyfriend. “He’s not from our school or class. Why would he come?”

Zhou Huaixiao often visited Jiang Xu, and the other classmates had grown accustomed to seeing him around, considering him one of their own.

In fact, they had invited Zhou Huaixiao to the gathering, knowing he was also close to Chu Yi. But Zhou Huaixiao had declined.

Since it was a reunion for Chu Yi and Jiang Xu’s classmates, he figured it was best to just come pick up his boyfriend.

Zhou Huaixiao came to pick up Jiang Xu, and Shen Jin naturally came to pick up Chu Yi as well.

Jiang Xu and Chu Yi hadn’t seen each other in a long time, and both were in high spirits after having a few drinks. From the moment they met, they talked non-stop, and when it was time to part, they were reluctant to separate.

As they chatted, they put their arms around each other’s shoulders and promised to hang out again in a few days.

But the closer they got, the more intimate their embrace became. Shen Jin and Zhou Huaixiao quickly stepped in to pull them apart.

Chu Yi protested, “Why are you pulling us apart? We used to put our arms around each other all the time!”

Jiang Xu nodded in agreement. “Yeah, we met on the first day of school. It’s called fate!”

Shen Jin took Chu Yi’s hand. “We should go home now.”

Zhou Huaixiao also took Jiang Xu’s hand. “Let’s go home.”

Neither of them realized that their men were radiating a sour, jealous aura. The two reluctant friends had no choice but to part ways and head home.

Back in the car, Shen Jin fed Chu Yi some water. “How much did you drink? Are you feeling okay?”

Chu Yi tilted his head slightly. “I’m not drunk, just a little warm. Hehehehe.”

As he spoke, Chu Yi stuck out his tongue to lick a drop of water from his lip, looking utterly irresistible.

Shen Jin pulled him onto his lap. “Did you have fun today?”

Chu Yi’s eyes curved into crescent moons. “Mm-hmm, I did.”

Shen Jin’s jealousy intensified. “Even if you’re having fun, don’t put your arm around other people’s shoulders, okay?” Even if that person is your best friend.

Chu Yi giggled, knowing Shen Jin was jealous. Slightly tipsy from the drinks, he grew bolder.

Chu Yi remembered something from earlier. “When I fainted from heatstroke, Brother Chen Ye carried me inside.”

Shen Jin’s expression became indescribable. Gritting his teeth, he glared at Chu Yi. “Just you wait, Chu Yi.”

Chu Yi burst into another fit of giggles. “I’m waiting.”

Chen Ye, driving in the front, remained oblivious to the drama unfolding behind him. He only felt a brief, piercing gaze on his back—Mr. Shen’s glare.

Throughout the rest of the ride, Chu Yi snuggled in Shen Jin’s arms, stifling his laughter.

He would soon learn the consequences of provoking Shen Jin.

The moment Chu Yi stepped out of the car, Shen Jin swept him into his arms.

Chu Yi felt the solid strength of Shen Jin’s arms, a surge of raw power. He glanced up and saw Shen Jin’s lips pressed into a thin line. *Oh no, he’s going to settle the score with me.*

“I haven’t seen Little Lucky Star yet,” Chu Yi blurted out. “I want to see Little Lucky Star.”

“Little Lucky Star is already asleep,” Shen Jin replied.

“My head feels a bit dizzy,” Chu Yi tried again. “I think I might have had too much to drink.”

“No problem. I’ll have them make you some hangover soup.”

Chu Yi tried to wriggle out of Shen Jin’s arms, but Shen Jin held him in a tight embrace, making it impossible to move. In Shen Jin’s presence, Chu Yi’s height and strength were utterly suppressed.

Finally, Chu Yi surrendered. “I’m sorry. I was just joking with you earlier.”

“Too late,” Shen Jin said.

“Husband, I was wrong,” Chu Yi pleaded.

Shen Jin snorted. “You’re wearing it on your ankle tonight. Don’t take it off.”

“I’ll never do it again,” Chu Yi promised.

For the rest of the evening, Chu Yi remained trapped in Shen Jin’s arms.

He regretted provoking Shen Jin’s competitive spirit so deeply.
