All the sweet talk in the world lost its luster in the face of that one sentence.
Gu Siye’s eyes darkened. It felt as if a feather were lightly brushing against his heart.
He pressed Lin Yanran against the wall, his hands cradling the other’s face. He lowered his head to nip gently at his lips before settling into a soft, lingering kiss.
“Is now okay then…?”
The huskiness in the man’s voice acted as a siren song, leading Lin Yanran step by step into a gentle trap.
He didn’t answer with words; he simply tilted his chin up, exposing the graceful line of his white neck.
This silent response pushed the ambiguous atmosphere to a breaking point.
As his tongue forcefully pried open Lin Yanran’s lips, Gu Siye seized the other’s slender wrists, pinning them against the wall and interlacing their fingers.
Feeling their breaths entwine, Lin Yanran found it hard to breathe and even harder to resist.
Before this, he had always thought Gu Siye was gentle and refined, a gentleman who always kept his composure.
But now, the man’s heavy breathing was like a wildfire, slowly consuming his senses.
The tongue roaming dominantly between his lips plundered his logic, coaxing him into the intimacy.
Lin Yanran closed his eyes. Their chests rose and fell together, their hearts beating at the same frantic tempo—fervent and close.
This was his first kiss.
Lin Yanran had no experience, but he didn’t want Gu Siye to be the only one giving.
So he could only rely on instinct, tilting his head back and gently sticking out the tip of his tongue to hook the other’s lips and tongue, awkwardly and gently entwining with it.
What was meant to be a simple response only made it easier for Gu Siye to deepen the kiss even further.
As his perception was stripped away, Lin Yanran’s brain began to lack oxygen.
He felt as if his mind was blank, but the warm, delicate heat between his lips reminded him that he and Gu Siye were passionately kissing.
Under the man’s inch-by-inch invasion, Lin Yanran’s legs felt weak. He tried to grab Gu Siye’s shirt to steady himself, but he was pinned too firmly to move.
Even the heat from Gu Siye’s palms seemed to scorch his fingertips.
Lin Yanran opened his eyes in a daze, his misty gaze meeting Gu Siye’s downward look.
Just before things spiraled out of control, the man finally let him go.
Lin Yanran gasped for air. His cheeks were flushed a deep pink from the lack of oxygen, and his bright eyes sparkled with a captivating spring-like allure.
Gu Siye glanced at the lips he had kissed until damp and swollen. He suppressed the beast inside that was howling in dissatisfaction and had to change targets.
He let go of Lin Yanran’s hands, his palm sliding down to the skin of the other’s waist, right over his birthmark.
Lightly stroking that tempting mark, Gu Siye buried his face in the crook of Lin Yanran’s neck and gave a firm, small bite.
Before the pain could even register, Lin Yanran felt a series of delicate kisses land on his exposed skin.
From the collarbone to the side of the neck, to the earlobe, and finally to the corner of the eye…
Every inch of skin the man’s lips touched seemed to ignite.
The heat surged upwards in waves, making Lin Yanran feel numb and itchy all over.
Gu Siye seemed reluctant to leave, lingering at the collarbone and sucking repeatedly until he left a mark.
Lin Yanran panted softly.
“Teacher Gu… it will be seen.”
“I’m sorry, Teacher Yanran.”
The man’s apology was delivered in a voice deeper and sexier than usual. A faint smile played on his lips, partly mischievous, partly satisfied.
“It’s my first time; I have no experience. I’ll be more careful next time.”
Gu Siye stopped and straightened up.
Lin Yanran didn’t say anything. He simply grabbed the man’s hands and placed them at his own collar, letting Gu Siye help him redo the two buttons he had left open.
He lowered his eyes and said softly, “It’s okay. This way, it can’t be seen.”
Gu Siye’s eyes darkened a few shades; he desperately wanted to kiss the treasure in front of him once more.
But in the end, he restrained his desire, simply pulling Lin Yanran gently into his arms and whispering into his ear.
“Before this, it actually felt surreal to me.”
Lin Yanran rested his cheek quietly against Gu Siye’s shoulder. “What felt surreal?”
“So beautiful that it felt fake. I wasn’t even sure if you had truly become my boyfriend.”
Gu Siye cast aside any pretense of being a top-tier star, laying his heart bare before the person he loved.
Hearing someone as confident and powerful as Gu Siye speak with such insecurity, Lin Yanran gently wrapped his arms around the other man’s waist.
“And now, Teacher Gu?”
Gu Siye brushed his chin against Lin Yanran’s cheek. “Now, I’m sure.”
“Yanran, you might think I’m just using sweet words to please you, but beyond falling in love at first sight, it feels as though my subconscious has loved you for a very, very long time. Perhaps in a past life, or the life before that… it feels as if I was born just to wait for you.”
Gu Siye spoke slowly, but every word was filled with sincere emotion.
This was the first time Lin Yanran had heard Gu Siye describe his feelings in such detail.
He didn’t doubt him; instead, he chose to believe.
“Teacher Gu, I feel the same.”
Gu Siye thought Lin Yanran was joking and emphasized seriously, “Every word I said is true.”
Realizing the misunderstanding, Lin Yanran straightened up to look him in the eye.
“Teacher Gu, what I said is true, too. Many times, I’ve wondered if we knew each other before.”
“We have the same hobbies, we understand each other’s glances—we are so perfectly in sync.”
“Just last night before bed, I was wondering if we were actually together in the past but were separated for some reason and forgot one another.”
Lin Yanran smiled, his gaze turning tender as he looked at Gu Siye.
“But regardless, we still couldn’t help but be attracted to each other. So, I suppose this is what they call destiny.”
If it were anyone else, Lin Yanran wouldn’t have said these things so easily.
But because it was Gu Siye, he knew the man would understand exactly what he meant and wouldn’t think he was talking nonsense.
Gu Siye placed a light kiss on Lin Yanran’s forehead and whispered in agreement.
“I’m grateful to fate for letting you be my boyfriend.”
…
After a tender morning kiss, Lin Yanran returned to his room and changed out of his pajamas.
By the time he came back out in his regular clothes, Gu Siye had already ordered breakfast and prepared a glass of warm water for him.
Lin Yanran took it and immediately had a sip. He had been thirsty during the kiss and truly needed a glass of water to rehydrate.
After breakfast, the two rushed straight to the airport.
Lin Yanran had already missed his flight yesterday. If he didn’t hurry back today, he would miss the scheduled slot for his family’s private jet.
He was going to an estate in Australia with his family and wouldn’t be back until after the Lunar New Year.
Before they parted, Lin Yanran told Gu Siye about the trip.
Gu Siye gave a regretful smile. “I just got a boyfriend, and now we have to be apart for a week? Does that mean I won’t be able to give you your New Year’s gift?”
Lin Yanran felt a bit guilty, but since his family had only recently found him after being apart for so long, he really wanted to spend the New Year with them.
He suggested, “Then you can give it to me early.”
“If I give it early, it’s not a New Year’s gift anymore,” Gu Siye smiled, not truly minding the week apart. “I’ll mail it to you on time.”
Lin Yanran was curious. “Mail it?”
Gu Siye nodded but didn’t elaborate.
Lin Yanran assumed he was joking and didn’t press further.
Initially, Gu Siye intended to drop Lin Yanran off at the apartment complex where they lived together, but after hearing the story of how Lin Yanran found his biological parents, he updated the GPS and drove him to his family home.
Gu Siye didn’t drive inside, stopping the car outside the villa instead.
Seeing Gu Siye get out of the car, Lin Yanran asked him, “Teacher Gu, won’t you come in and sit for a while?”
Gu Siye let out a low chuckle and looked down at Lin Yanran. “Teacher Yanran, are you planning to introduce me to your parents right now?”
Reminded by Gu Siye, Lin Yanran finally snapped out of it.
He certainly planned to bring Gu Siye home to meet the family, but definitely not like this.
He hadn’t even settled his own affairs yet; a sudden meeting wouldn’t be fair to Gu Siye or his family.
Seeing Lin Yanran realize the situation, Gu Siye continued, “While I’d love to, I’m currently unprepared and empty-handed. If I leave a bad first impression on your family, what will we do in the future?”
Lin Yanran understood, but he didn’t want Gu Siye to think he was hesitant to introduce him. He explained, “But you’re empty-handed because I made you change routes halfway. It’s not your fault…”
He added, “Actually, most of my family already knows who you are. They likely have a good impression of you.”
Seeing that Lin Yanran wasn’t opposed to the idea of meeting the parents, the corners of Gu Siye’s mouth curled into a faint smile. He followed up on the last sentence: “Then I’ll have to work even harder in the New Year and take on more assignments.”
Lin Yanran was puzzled.
A muffled chuckle vibrated in Gu Siye’s chest. “So your family sees my face more often, and I can gain more favor with them.”
Lin Yanran was moved to laughter by the reason.
He patted Gu Siye’s shoulder encouragingly. “Then good luck, Teacher Gu.”
With that, Lin Yanran picked up his luggage.
Gu Siye pulled him into a gentle embrace and spoke softly in his ear.
“I’ll call you every day, Teacher Yanran.”
