Xiao Xin, a recent university graduate, surprisingly passed the interview at DL Company and officially became an employee. Xiao Xin greatly treasured this opportunity.
It was Xiao Xin’s first day of work. She woke up early to go to the company but sometimes, getting up early leads to a late start. The road, which was normally free of traffic, was completely jammed due to an accident.
Fortunately, she didn’t end up being late. Xiao Xin rushed to the company with even ten minutes to spare.
“Excuse me, wait up.”
The elevator doors, only a few steps away, were about to shut when Xiao Xin quickly called out. Waiting for the next one would take several minutes.
Luckily, the person inside the elevator held the door, so Xiao Xin made it on time.
Xiao Xin thanked them profusely: “Thank you.”
Having run all the way, Xiao Xin was breathless.
The person said, “You’re welcome.”
The voice was very pleasant. Xiao Xin couldn’t help but turn her head to glance at the person. Her eyes instantly widened—she hadn’t expected it to be such a handsome guy! He was so incredibly handsome!
The handsome man was wearing a very well-fitted, light-gray suit and looked to be about her age. She hadn’t seen him during the interview, so he must be a senior colleague.
She couldn’t believe she’d seen such a handsome colleague on her first day.
Perhaps sensing her too intent gaze, the man looked at her. Xiao Xin quickly looked away. This guy seemed quite unapproachable.
Xiao Xin soon put the incident out of her mind. It wasn’t until the company meeting that afternoon that Xiao Xin realized the man in the elevator wasn’t a colleague at all; he was their boss, CEO Lu (It was Lu Xingmian y’all. To distinguish them, Lu Xingmian will be addressed as CEO Lu).
Moreover, a colleague told her that CEO Lu was actually thirty years old.
Thirty! Xiao Xin couldn’t believe that CEO Lu was thirty. He didn’t look like it at all; he looked more like a recent graduate.
After being at the company for a few days, Xiao Xin learned that their boss was a very serious person. She rarely saw him smile at the company, though she didn’t see the boss often anyway.
Colleagues reassured her that while their boss was serious, the company benefits were excellent.
Two days later, Xiao Xin witnessed an incredible sight on the street after work.
CEO Lu was actually smiling! She realized that CEO Lu’s smile was incredibly charming and sweet. He looked even more handsome when he smiled.
CEO Lu was smiling at another handsome man. Xiao Xin’s first thought was that this must be CEO Lu’s husband. Everyone in the company knew CEO Lu was married and that his relationship with his husband was very deep. Colleagues would speak of them with envy and one senior colleague even mentioned that when CEO Lu was serious and didn’t smile, he actually looked quite similar to his husband, President Lu.
What surprised Xiao Xin even more was that CEO Lu was eating spicy strips. She suddenly thought that CEO Lu had a very cute side to him.
While Xiao Xin was thinking this, a cold gaze was directed at her and she quickly looked away. Perhaps she had been staring at CEO Lu for too long, that’s why his husband was displeased.
After watching the young woman leave, Lu Shiran finally turned to Lu Xingmian, his expression softening into a look of pure, overwhelming gentleness.
While chewing on a spicy strip, Lu Xingmian negotiated with Lu Shiran: “Today’s a special circumstance. Can I have one more bag?”
Who could have guessed that CEO Lu, who was decisive and commanded company policy, was currently asking his husband for permission to eat spicy strips? No one would believe it.
The truth was, Lu Xingmian didn’t intentionally keep a stern face; it was because he was so stunningly beautiful that only by maintaining a serious expression could he keep the company staff in line.
After he graduated from university, Lu Shiran gave Lu Xingmian a company, it was the former Lu Group (Once again, it’s the Lu family, Lu Sihang’s family), which Lu Shiran had acquired after its bankruptcy.
It was originally meant to belong to Lu Xingmian.
Lu Shiran was unmoved by Lu Xingmian’s request: “No. You can only have one bag today.”
Lu Xingmian: “Ge, not even for my birthday today?”
Lu Shiran: “No.”
Today was Lu Xingmian’s thirtieth birthday. Although he was thirty, time had been exceptionally kind to him; his appearance had barely changed, making it impossible to tell he was already thirty.
This was because Lu Shiran had taken such excellent care of him.
The two had a ten-year age gap. Lu Shiran was forty this year, but his appearance had also remained largely unchanged.
Hearing he couldn’t have more spicy strips, Lu Xingmian puffed out his cheeks and angrily bit the strip in his hand, resolutely ignoring his husband for one minute. Lu Shiran stroked his head to placate him.
In truth, Lu Shiran’s firm stance was not without reason either.
That one time, Lu Shiran went to a cocktail party and left Lu Xingmian alone at home. Lu Xingmian then ate all the spicy strips in the house at once.
Less than two hours later, Lu Xingmian suddenly had unbearable abdominal pain. He trembled with agony as he tearfully called Lu Shiran: “Ge, my stomach hurts.”
Lu Shiran immediately rushed back and took Lu Xingmian to the hospital. Fortunately, it wasn’t a major issue; Lu Xingmian just had acute enteritis.
The cause was eating too many spicy strips. In one evening, he had eaten every single one in the house.
At the time, Lu Shiran’s face had turned completely green.
Since then, Lu Shiran had absolutely forbidden Lu Xingmian from eating spicy strips, not even allow him to have a little bit.
Lu Xingmian then secretly bought some and hid them at home, only to find them gone when he went to retrieve them. Lu Shiran had definitely taken them.
Lu Xingmian stashed them in the kitchen, in the sofa crevices, and even in shoeboxes, as long as he thought it was perfectly secret, but no matter where he hid them, Lu Shiran always found and took them.
Lu Xingmian was completely defeated. He suspected that Lu Shiran had installed a camera on him as he wondered how he could so accurately find all his hiding spots.
Lu Xingmian no longer dared to hide spicy strips because every time he was caught, Lu Shiran would punish him severely, leaving Lu Xingmian with weak legs afterward.
However, after a long period of “fighting” and negotiation, Lu Shiran finally agreed to let him have spicy strips occasionally. This “occasionally” was once a month or two, and only with a single small bag each time.
So, Lu Xingmian was currently negotiating for a greater quantity of spicy strips but Lu Shiran remained unusually firm.
But if you thought about it, it also made sense. The time Lu Xingmian had been in unbearable pain, the pain that made him cry, had truly terrified Lu Shiran.
On his birthday, Lu Xingmian received many blessings from family and friends alike.
Among them was a WeChat message from Xiao Youzi.
[Happy Birthday, Little Uncle! I hope Little Uncle will get even more handsome and better-looking.]
Xiao Youzi’s full name was Lu Chuxi. She was just as fond of her little uncle as she was when she was a child, though she couldn’t cling to him like she used to. Lu Chuxi had grown into a lovely, graceful young woman.
As a result, Lu Yu now had an extra layer of worry and terrified that some rascals would steal his daughter away.
But Lu Yu’s worries were unnecessary. Lu Chuxi grew up surrounded by love; her own parents were devoted, her uncle and little uncle were even more affectionate, and her grandparents’ love was as strong as it was decades ago.
Having been exposed to this her whole life, she wouldn’t be fooled by those young men’s tricks.
However, Lu Chuxi’s future partner was destined to face a difficult trial as they would have to contend not only with the mountain that was Lu Yu but also with the two elder gods, her uncle and little uncle as well. They had watched Lu Chuxi grow up, and naturally, they would be very strict with her partner.
The couple returned home, and just as before, Lu Shiran lifted Lu Xingmian onto the cabinet to change his shoes, it was a ritual they had maintained for over a decade.
The shoes on Lu Xingmian’s feet changed from comfortable sneakers to gleaming leather shoes.
But regardless of whether they were sneakers or leather shoes, Lu Shiran took them off with the same gentleness and patience. It had always been this way for all these years.
Looking at the back of his head, Lu Xingmian suddenly asked, “Ge, when we’re old, will you still be able to lift me?”
Hearing this, Lu Shiran looked up at him: “Don’t worry, even when I’m seventy or eighty, I can still do you.”
Lu Xingmian blinked. He was talking about carrying him. What was Lu Shiran thinking about?
Lu Shiran continued, “And of course, I’ll still be able to lift you. I’ll carry you and change your shoes for a lifetime.”
For Lu Xingmian’s birthday, Lu Shiran naturally cooked a sumptuous meal himself. Lu Xingmian’s appetite had been spoiled by Lu Shiran over the years; he loved his cooking the most and had little interest in restaurant food.
After eating cake and making a wish, spending his birthday together with Lu Shiran was the happiest, most relaxing, and comfortable thing to him.
That night, the two were lying in bed chatting. Lu Xingmian mentioned that he needed to buy another box tomorrow as the one for the notes was full.
Lu Shiran suddenly asked him, “Zai Zai, do you still remember the contents of the sticky notes?”
Lu Xingmian: “Of course, I remember.”
He had already filled two full drawers with Lu Shiran’s notes, and he remembered the content of every single one. His academic achiever’s memory was excellent, especially for something written by Lu Shiran.
Lu Shiran was clearly unconvinced: “You really remember everything? You remember the content from over ten years ago?”
“Of course, I remember,” Lu Xingmian said. “If you don’t believe me, you can quiz me.”
Lu Shiran smiled: “Alright, then I’ll test you. What did I write on the very first note I gave you? I’ll punish you if you get one word wrong.”
Lu Xingmian began reciting it, practically by heart.
But why, as he began to recite, did it suddenly turn into a “reciting-from-the-note” play?
Lu Shiran bit his ear: “Zai Zai, don’t stop. Keep reciting.”
Lu Xingmian’s voice was then choked with pleasure and was completely swallowed by Lu Shiran’s kisses.
It took Lu Xingmian several minutes to recite a short sentence, and he couldn’t even finish it completely.
On his thirtieth birthday, Lu Xingmian was completely occupied by Lu Shiran all night long.
The author has something to say:
Exactly one hundred chapters, perfect. Thank you all, my dears, for staying with me on this journey; I’m truly grateful! I hope to see you again in the next book.
T/N: We’re finally reaching the end, guys. Thank you all for reading. I hope you enjoyed it!💝

I quite enjoyed it. I was in a mood for a lighthearted and easy read, but I was also surprised myself with how invested I’ve gotten over this novel. I still lowkey hope we get to see the Lu family suffer but I prefer seeing both Lus happy and being domestics.
Thank you for translating! 💖
I really love this novel. I was kinda in my reading slump. This novel brought back my joy of reading. Always and forever Lu Xingmian & Lu Shiran❤️
100/100
Dzięki :))
Thank you for the translation, I really enjoyed the story 😍
Thank you for the wonderful translation. It was really a sweet story.
It was so good like seriously really really good can’t describe it, one need this kind of love and good things take time
This novel was going to be a 5/5 for me but those later chapters (the terrible date and temper tantrum with selective IQ drop of MC) soured my mood a bit. I will still give it a 4.5/5 because it was short, cute, entertaining and lovely in general.
Thank you so much for the translation!
Very beautiful. Thank you very much 😊 ☺ 🙏
I love this story so much! Its full of fluff im going to save this in my notes so i can rr later
I recommend this for the fluff but also warn for the brainless actions in the last date chapters…
Thank you for translating this book
Congratulations for the complete translation author-sama. Even though I have re-read it many times I still loved them. Hope I can still find same novel as this. Thank you. 😊
i love it
Now I know what ‘reading sweet-nothing’ mean, haha~ ( 〃´艸`) The beginning was very promising and I’m still content with what I read, it’s just that this novel is mostly about emotions, so if someone looking for something cute and relaxing it will be a good choice! o(〃^▽^〃)oMy only problem with this title is the ending, to be precise LXM sudden drop in IQ and becoming more and more like a little child. Above all I spend a nice time reading it~ And it’s all thanks to Your amazing work and sharing this novel with us! ♡ฅ(ᐤˊ꒳ฅˋᐤ) Take care and see You with another projects (。・ω・。)ノ♡
Thank you for the translations <3333
