DSMC Chapter 168.1

Thrilling Kiss Scene (Part 1)

[Want to be Human] livestream channel:

“Hahahahahaha, damn, this is too fucking good! Kitty Baby unlocked a new way to play right after becoming the female lead. He’s reached the pinnacle of life by becoming an actor in a horror instance.”

“As a single dog, I’m genuinely jealous. I can’t even compare to a cat. He can casually become the female lead and even get a kissing scene. Please, I beg you, let me see their bed scene!”

“This devoted believer is willing to be vegetarian for three years, just for two more minutes of kissing scenes with the kitten.”

“My mom asked why I was grinning at a horror instance like an idiot. She says I must be sick in the head.”

“But seriously, if Director Jiang changes the shooting schedule like this, doesn’t that mean he’s bringing some of the plot forward? Based on how the instance is supposed to develop, shouldn’t they be filming the scenes one by one according to the script, while completing the missions little by little?”

“The guy above is right, but the NPCs in this instance feel like they’re already outside the system’s control. It’s almost as if they’ve developed their own consciousness.”

“NPCs in the system having a reasonable degree of independent consciousness is normal, though. Every NPC in the instances Kitty Baby has cleared has had their own personality. I still remember their stories and names. Weird… before I started watching Kitty Baby’s livestream, why couldn’t I remember anything? Have I been bewitched?”

The script for Mingya High School really did have a romance subplot, but why would a dual-male-lead movie need a romance subplot? Wasn’t his partner supposed to be a pretty girl?

Wait, no. He wasn’t actually an actor. Why was he even worrying about acting? What mattered was the plot itself!

Why would a horror movie even have a romance subplot?

Yan Jiyun stood at the entrance of the music building, extremely reluctant to go inside.

Qi Feng lagged two steps behind to wait for him and said quietly, “We’re just borrowing the location. Nothing’s going to happen.”

“I just think filming this so-called romance scene is a waste of time.” Yan Jiyun thought about his rapidly dwindling Time Card. He had already used up quite a bit of it in the Little Class Monitor’s instance, and after entering this instance, the remaining time had been slipping away like water through his fingers. There was now less than half left.

He had less than twelve hours remaining on his Human Form Time Card. After a few more scenes, he would have to spend the final three days in cat form. That wasn’t exactly safe, unless he simply tagged along with Qi Feng, Gu Wenzhu, and the others to clear the instance. But then he’d really be no different from a salted fish.

Ah, he really wanted to slack off.

Qi Feng lowered his eyes and said, “Let’s finish filming as quickly as possible. We can just go through the motions. Actually, Director Jiang probably doesn’t care that much about our acting.”

That was the only option. The two of them were being watched by all the NPCs now, so they couldn’t run even if they wanted to.

They also had their own plan. They would definitely find the real Teacher Qu and leave the instance as quickly as possible.

Yan Jiyun received the newly written pages from the screenwriter. After taking a look at the revised plot, he found it reasonable, but it was still so annoying that he wanted to tear the script apart.

Why did they have to add more scenes for him? He didn’t want more scenes!

Director Jiang held another copy of the script and asked, “Do you know how you’re supposed to convey the emotions later?”

Yan Jiyun rolled his eyes furiously in his mind. “Why did you add another scene? Can’t we cut it?”

Director Jiang immediately told him, “No.”

Yan Jiyun: “I really don’t think it’s necessary.”

Director Jiang: “I think it’s extremely necessary. Stop talking and hurry up and get into character.”

Tch. His relationship with his pooper scooper was already so good. What emotions did he need to work up? Borrowing a position wasn’t difficult either. Even if they actually kissed, it would just be their lips touching.

Yan Jiyun said, “No need. Let’s just shoot it. The sooner we finish, the sooner we can rest.”

Director Jiang said, “Fine, I’ll satisfy your request.”

He immediately turned around and shouted through his megaphone, “All cameras, get ready!”

Yan Jiyun and Qi Feng took their positions and quickly coordinated their blocking.

Before filming began, Yan Jiyun moved his lips slightly. “I wonder if this scene can trigger the plot.”

Qi Feng stared at his face as it gradually drew closer to his own. “Probably not.”

He no longer considered Yan Jiyun a newcomer. Yan Jiyun had his own methods and abilities for clearing instances. He wasn’t an ordinary novice.

There was an important premise to Yan Jiyun and Qi Feng’s romance scene.

Yan Jiyun was being chased by a female ghost wielding a chainsaw. He stepped off into empty space and fell from a height. In desperation, Qi Feng disregarded his own safety and grabbed a rope hanging from a beam, catching Yan Jiyun with one hand. The rope couldn’t bear the weight of both of them and snapped just before they reached the ground. At that moment, Qi Feng rolled together with Yan Jiyun to dissipate the impact and prevent them from being injured.

In the newly revised dual-male-lead script, the male lead played by Qi Feng already had feelings for Yan Jiyun that went beyond their childhood friendship. While carrying those feelings, Qi Feng protected Yan Jiyun’s head with one hand, and as they rolled across the ground, their lips accidentally touched.

In reality, they had simply bumped their lips together, but Director Jiang considered this the only kissing scene in the script and insisted that it had to look natural and beautiful.

The scene was actually quite difficult.

First, they had to film Yan Jiyun running away from the female ghost. Then they had to film Qi Feng’s part.

For ordinary actors, they would naturally prioritize safety. But in order to make the scene look realistic and thrilling, Director Jiang hadn’t prepared much protective equipment for Yan Jiyun and Qi Feng. There was only a thick high-jump landing mat on the ground where the rope would fall.

This was a romance scene where one careless mistake could cost the actors their lives.

As expected of this garbage game.

As expected of Director Jiang.

Yan Jiyun was ready and about to charge forward. Behind him was a female actress dressed as a ghost. Under Director Jiang’s direction, she began attacking Yan Jiyun.

Although they were supposedly filming, Yan Jiyun didn’t dare let his guard down. He could sense a chill coming from the pale-faced actress, and he spotted the familiar black fingernails on her hands. The fake chainsaw she was holding was questionable, too — the damn thing was actually running.

Yet none of the surrounding NPCs seemed to think there was anything strange about that.

Yan Jiyun thought, ‘What the hell? This is the female ghost from before! She’s actually trying to kill me!’

Was nobody going to do anything?

Yan Jiyun looked at the cameras circling him. Had he entered the female ghost’s domain, or were they actually filming?

Had the female ghost failed to defeat them in that previous spatial domain, so she had changed her method of appearing?

Yan Jiyun had no time to think about it anymore.

The thick, roaring chainsaw came straight down toward him!

He dodged left and right, barely managing to avoid it. Suddenly, just as the script had described, his back leg was caught by a chair that had been thrust across his path, and he fell.

But instead of falling from the second floor to the first, he hooked the chair with his foot, grabbed it, and hurled it at the female ghost charging toward him!

If he didn’t fight back now, he really was going to get killed.

Qi Feng was currently holding a rope. It wasn’t his turn yet, but watching Yan Jiyun struggle desperately with the female ghost, he already knew that this ghost wasn’t an actress from the crew.

Yan Jiyun was in trouble.

At this critical moment, Qi Feng couldn’t interfere with Yan Jiyun either, lest he distract him and cause him to be injured. He tugged at the slightly defective section of rope, ready to catch Yan Jiyun at any moment.

At the same time, he noticed that Yan Jiyun seemed to be struggling more than usual when dealing with the female ghost. His movements weren’t nearly as agile as they had been before.

What was going on?

Was he injured?

Yan Jiyun’s movements really had slowed considerably. His cold was getting worse, and both his agility and reaction speed were declining.

Although his mind was still working quickly, his hands and feet could no longer keep up. When he managed to wedge the chair against the chainsaw in the female ghost’s hands, he rarely found himself in a position where he had to ask his team leader for help.

Yan Jiyun turned and ran toward Qi Feng. “Qi Feng!”

He was almost at his limit.

Qi Feng waited for him, pulling on the rope with one hand and swinging toward Yan Jiyun. “Come here!”

Yan Jiyun trusted Qi Feng quite a lot. He had never even considered that Qi Feng might fail to catch him.

After the female ghost flung the chair away, Yan Jiyun vaulted over the railing and threw himself toward Qi Feng. Qi Feng happened to hook one arm around his waist and caught him securely.

As expected, the rope couldn’t withstand the weight of two people.

The moment Qi Feng caught Yan Jiyun, Yan Jiyun heard the faint sound of the rope snapping.

“The rope’s going to break.”

“Mm. Get ready to jump. Hold on tight.”

Yan Jiyun immediately wrapped both arms around his neck, quick and practiced.

Snap, the rope broke.

The two of them plummeted straight down without support and landed on the foam mat. The height wasn’t particularly great, so neither of them was injured. Because of the momentum, Qi Feng held onto Yan Jiyun and rolled across the mat three times before finally coming to a stop.

Qi Feng pressed a hand against the back of Yan Jiyun’s head, preventing him from getting hurt.

The scene was truly heart-stopping. If they failed to control the timing of their fall, one of them could easily have broken an arm or a leg.

The female ghost upstairs, enraged that she hadn’t caught Yan Jiyun, hurled a chair down toward them.

Qi Feng had his back to the female ghost and didn’t notice.

But Yan Jiyun saw it clearly.

Using the last of his strength, he shoved Qi Feng, who was shielding him, out of the way and threw his entire body over him.

His lips genuinely collided with Qi Feng’s. But neither of them paid any attention to the contact between their lips.

Although the chair itself hadn’t hit Qi Feng, the backrest struck Yan Jiyun directly on his left shoulder.

Pain contorted his entire face.

His left arm felt like it was about to fall off.

Yan Jiyun had reacted too quickly for Qi Feng to process what had happened. His mind was buzzing, and his brows furrowed tightly. “How are you?”

Yan Jiyun was in so much pain that he buried his face against the side of Qi Feng’s neck, just like when he was a cat and didn’t want to move.

He gritted his teeth and forced out a single word. “It hurts.”

[Anyone Saw My Cat?] livestream channel:

“Just a little shipping between the newbie and Feng-ge. Even Lan Mo, that die-hard little lackey, doesn’t go this far. If the newbie hadn’t reacted in time, that chair the female ghost threw might have hit Feng-ge right in the head.”

“The newbie’s reaction speed is insanely fast. But didn’t Feng-ge save him first, and then he saved Feng-ge afterward?”

“I think the newbie is genuinely capable. Who could see a chair flying down from behind them in that split second? A normal person would only dodge instinctively. They wouldn’t take the hit for Feng-ge.”

“Tsk, tsk, tsk. The newbie is so fucking calculating. I refuse to ship this CP! Please let Feng-ge shine on his own, thank you!”

“I just want to ask, who else would go this far for Feng-ge? I think Feng-ge might have found himself a reliable new teammate this time.”

[Want to Be a Human] livestream channel::

“AAAAAAHHHHHH! The baby got hit! That sound made my ears go numb just listening to it. Does it hurt? My heart hurts so much!”

“Same! He actually blocked the chair for the Level 5 streamer without hesitation. He must really care about his owner. My heart hurts for Kitty Baby, but at the same time, I can’t help shipping Kitty with his owner. Their love is so real!”

“Didn’t you notice? Kitty Baby and the Level 5 streamer completed the kissing scene just now.”

“They really did kiss, but compared to the kiss, I like the way Mimi buried his face against his owner’s neck even more. It’s so sweet! And he even softly said that it hurt. The owner’s hand happened to be supporting the back of his head. This is what they mean by mutual devotion, right? Right?!”

“Girl, you’ve got a microscope for eyes! You noticed details I completely missed. Compared to the kiss, this is actually even more heart-fluttering. I love it. I believe in love again!”
