For some reason, today, both the Protagonist Shou and Gong No.1 were acting strangely. One had bolted out of class halfway through, rolling and scrambling as he went.
The other’s face had suddenly turned terrifyingly dark, so much so that the surrounding students didn’t even dare speak.
The classroom was as quiet as a graveyard.
Lu Chi frowned, his expression unreadable as he said coolly: “Classmate Liang Jiashu, if you don’t want to attend class, you can return to your lab.”
The words fell, and the classroom turned so silent that a pin could drop.
It was the first time Lu Chi had ever called Liang Jiashu’s name in public.
But contrary to the ambiguous, scandalous fantasies the crowd expected, his tone was utterly cold, as if speaking to a stranger.
The young man stared back at him in silence for a few seconds, then replied just as coolly: “Sorry, Teacher Lu.”
As soon as he spoke, he rose to his feet and left with sharp, decisive steps. His broad, straight back vanished at the door and was quickly gone without a trace.
The classroom was deathly still. Lu Chi carried on teaching, pretending not to notice the frenzy of students with theirheads bent low, typing furiously on their phones.
[LC❤️LC]: OMG, I’ve never seen Young Master Liang’s face that dark before! He and Teacher Lu definitely hate each other!
[Only Happiness for Lu Chi, Fuck the Wacko]: Did wacko also see the marks left by some rat, then decide it was all Butterfly’s fault for being too pretty, so he hates him even more?!
[What’s Wrong With Teacher-Student Romance]: I will bully that damn rat! Repeat: I will bully that damn rat!
But the whispers of the students didn’t affect Lu Chi. After finishing his class, he left the room as usual. It was already late September, but the heat in City A still lingered as bougainvilleas bloomed brilliantly along the streets. Lowering the air-conditioning in his car, Lu Chi drove straight to Liang Jiashu’s apartment.
But the moment he opened the door, his brow arched ever so slightly.
Complete and total darkness.
The living room was pitch black, with every curtain drawn, cutting off the bright sunlight outside. Only a single night-lamp glowed deep within, casting a dim, suggestive haze. Clearly, it was Liang Jiashu’s handiwork.
Lu Chi, not giving him any face, raised a hand, about to switch on the overhead light. But before he could, a hand shot out of the dark, seizing him up in one arm. His waist was encircled, his back pressed between the wall and a burning chest, his chin caught in a firm grip. Then a kiss came crashing down.
A violent kiss.
The heated tongue pried his teeth apart, plundering, sucking, and ravaging as sloppy wet sounds filled the air. Liang Jiashu’s breath scorched like sparks as it hit every sensitive spot, making Lu Chi exhale a drawn-out sigh through his nose. After a moment, he chuckled against the invading tongue: “Burning hot, are you?”
Liang Jiashu said nothing.
He was indeed burning hot everywhere, but tonight, his fire was raging…
…For the smile Lu Chi had given Gu Yanyan when he praised him. And for the coldness when Lu Chi spoke to him.
Even though he knew in secret they shared a bed, slept together, ate together, held hands… Because of that very fact, Liang Jiashu wanted even more to gouge out Gu Yanyan’s eyes and stab him dead for daring to lust after Lu Chi. Just imagining what he had run out to do, what he was venting or picturing, Liang Jiashu wanted… wanted… wanted to kill.
Lu Chi was his.
Only his.
And others should die just for daring to fantasize about him.
In the dark, he licked and sucked Lu Chi’s reddened earlobe while ripping open his shirt. The shell buttons and his leather belt popped free, scattering with sharp cracks into the corners of the room, as Liang Jiashu’s hand plunged downward, wrapping both himself and Lu Chi in his palm.
Tight, rough, burning.
His palm was scorching, fingers calloused, and soon the man in his arms was gasping, that clear, sweet voice rasping into husky notes. Liang Jiashu thought Lu Chi was born with a perfect voice. Whether speaking or moaning in bed, he was too good, too dangerously good.
Good enough to make others covet him.
The thought alone sent another wave of jealousy and hatred crashing over Liang Jiashu. His movements grew vicious, and his kisses fell in torrents like pounding rain. The darkness hid their faces, but from his chilling, guttural voice, Lu Chi could hear the killing intent thick enough to touch.
“You like him that much?”
Lu Chi leaned back lazily, a moan threading through his throat: “Mm… who?”
Liang Jiashu didn’t want to say that disgusting name out loud. But Lu Chi was too sharp, so he caught on in an instant, brow quirking as he asked: “Gu Yanyan?”
The next second, a brutal squeeze made him choke on a muffled groan.
Lu Chi took a moment to calm down, then lifted a hand and smacked Liang Jiashu across the face. Afterward, he rubbed his own palm twice, and then, without hesitation, clamped down hard around Liang Jiashu’s neck. A low laugh spilled out: “What the hell is wrong with you?”
The flurry of movements left Liang Jiashu breathless. He bit Lu Chi’s lower lip, kissing him relentlessly, then tangled them further as he dragged him inward. Soft fabrics hit the floor with a constant rustle.
Through it all, Lu Chi heard his jealous, hoarse whisper: “Why did you praise him?”
Gu Yanyan, better?
In looks, in family, in ability, in skill at pleasing Lu Chi in bed, Liang Jiashu felt he was a thousand times better than that trash!
Lu Chi couldn’t help laughing. A thumb stroked along Liang Jiashu’s cheek, and in a calm whisper, he said: “Because he really did play well.”
After all, Gu Yanyan was the Protagonist Shou: smart enough, and once he learned more, he might not fall far behind Liang Jiashu. Besides, it really was nothing. He’d been teaching at A University long enough that his compliments were like flyers on the street, handed out freely.
Praise was one thing.
As for his actual skills in playing the piano…
His words trailed into the air. With a sharp click, Liang Jiashu suddenly kicked open the door behind him. The room beyond was silent, dim, and shadowed, with curtains drawn just like the living room outside. Only a single faint night-lamp glowed. Since this room was tucked away at the back, Lu Chi had rarely entered it before, and its furnishings felt unfamiliar.
But he didn’t have time to take in the layout before Liang Jiashu forced him against the edge of something hard and kissed him savagely.
Their tongues tangled, biting, twisting, and sucking. Sitting astride, Lu Chi kissed him back, his whole body heaving. Halfway through, his fingers brushed something smooth and cool at his side. A key sunk beneath his touch, and in the silence of the room, a lone piano note rang out.
Lu Chi froze, realization dawning.
“So you brought this back… mm… had someone install a piano?”
He then pulled back his tongue, panting oddly as he asked: “What for? To prove you play better than Gu Yanyan?”
Surely the Gong No.1 wasn’t that childish.
Liang Jiashu gave no reply. After a moment, he abruptly released him as he stepped back, his feverishly hot body retreating. Seconds later, he slipped away into the shadows without a sound.
“…”
On their way here, most of their clothes had already been shed. Lu Chi’s own garments had been ripped off piece by piece by Liang Jiashu’s eager hands. Which left him now, sitting completely bare on the edge of the piano.
The man lifted his brow ever so lightly. So it hadn’t been prepared for Liang Jiashu.
It was prepared for him.
The room was hushed. Lu Chi chuckled, pushing back his damp bangs. Seemingly oblivious to the humid, voyeuristic gaze burning through the darkness, he settled himself unbothered onto the piano bench and began to play by feel.
Notes spilled forth, clear and elegant.
It should have been a scene of refined sophistication.
But because the performer was stark naked, it instantly turned obscene, dripping with lust.
Cool, pale fingers leapt across the keys with the melody. The night-lamp sketched out the elegant lines of his body. Beads of sweat gathered along his sharp jaw as he played, trickling down… plop… onto his fingers.
Noticing, he raised his hand and, wickedly, flicked his tongue out to lick it away. From the darkness, breathing grew suddenly heavy. And then, what followed was the unmistakable sound of hurried friction.
Lu Chi smiled, unruffled, as he continued to play. The tune was a Beethoven piece, the very first he had ever learned, one he’d performed countless times for fans. Even now, unable to see clearly, his fingers flowed with effortless instinct.
But then…
He heard it. That tiny click of a shutter, like the sound of a fan’s sneaky recording, or the snap of a reporter’s camera.
Lu Chi stilled, head tilting slightly as realization struck.
A corner of the room flared with light.
Illumination fell across the naked pianist, who lifted his gaze and saw.
Behind him stretched a wall, covered entirely with row after row of black, gleaming surveillance lenses.
And in front of them stood a tall, handsome youth. One hand held his phone up, filming. The other… crudely stroking himself.
When Lu Chi looked his way, the movement only quickened. Liang Jiashu let out a low, raspy laugh.
“Teacher Lu,” he said.
“Keep playing.”
