Taking the little guy abroad was a last-minute decision for Shen Minyan. Ever since Youyou returned to the Shen family, Tang Dou had been the one who spent the most time with him. He and Shen Yan were busy. Shen Lin had school. They simply didn’t have enough time to spend with Youyou. This time, as a substitute parent accompanying Youyou on the show, the little guy had been with him for three whole days.

Sometimes, when the little guy was asleep, he would murmur a word or two in his dreams, calling for his dad. And the night before, when he had a fever and Shen Minyan was carrying him around the room, the little one, with a fever patch on his forehead, was calling for his father even while suffering. He wasn’t narcissistic enough to think his son was calling for him. He knew it was Su Siwen and Qin Kun.

Shen Minyan had even called Tang Dou in to discuss it while the little guy was asleep. Youyou was too well-behaved. He rarely asked them for anything. From what he could see, the little guy only asked Shen Yan and Pei Xu for things, and they were always small snacks like cakes and cookies. He wasn’t sure if Youyou was still scared, or if, after all this time in Beicheng, he still didn’t feel safe, which was why he called out for Su Siwen and Qin Kun in his sleep.

Tang Dou was silent for a moment after hearing this, then started to reflect on himself. Youyou video-called his two foster fathers every day. On certain days, Qin Kun would message him ahead of time. If Su Siwen was having surgery or wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t video chat, Tang Dou would go along with the two fathers and tell Youyou they were busy and would call later. Su Youli would always nod understandingly, but the disappointment in his eyes was unmistakable.

On the days he didn’t video chat with his two fathers, the little guy would lose his energy and stay in the playroom all day. It was only when Yuanzi needed to go outside that he would take the dog for a walk in the garden. Everyone in the Shen family was good to Su Youli; that was undeniable. But everyone also knew that the little guy secretly wished most of all to be with Su Siwen and Qin Kun.

The little guy was happy and rarely cried or was upset. That was exactly why Shen Minyan felt so bad for him. He was so young, having to endure the pain of being separated from the most important people in his life, while also adjusting to a completely new family. Shen Minyan thought that his Youyou should be able to see whoever he wanted and live with whoever he wanted. His Youyou just needed to be happy, healthy, and safe. He didn’t need to be cautious or hide his feelings. Whatever he wanted to do, Shen Minyan would do it with him.

After they’d discussed it, they decided to fly directly from Haicheng Airport to Country D. They couldn’t wait a moment longer. Su Youli sat on his father’s lap, rubbing his ear, thinking he’d misheard. Dad was taking him to see Little Dad and Kun Kun! His mouth hung open, his eyes shining with light. He felt like he’d just been hit with a huge, incredible surprise.

“Dad, are you really taking me to see Little Dad and Kun Kun?” Su Youli couldn’t help it. He bounced up on his little bottom, excitedly jumping.

Shen Minyan patted his head and nodded, smiling. “Yes. We’ll leave first thing tomorrow morning and arrive in the evening. The flight will be long, though. I’ve asked Brother Xiao Tang to go into the city to buy some things. He’ll meet us at the airport tomorrow to fly out together.”

Su Youli’s little heart pounded with excitement. He couldn’t believe he’d be seeing his two dads tomorrow! After making this decision, Shen Minyan felt a wave of relief. Su Youli spent the whole night in a state of excitement. He even dreamed of his dads picking him up at the airport. The next morning, the little guy was up at seven. He got up immediately, dressed himself, went to the bathroom, climbed onto his small stool, brushed his teeth and washed his face, then took a small comb to tidy his messy curls.

“Dad, wake up!” The little guy, now in his clean little leather shoes, leaned over the bed to begin his wake-up service.

Shen Minyan opened his eyes. He didn’t know when the little guy had woken up, but he was already clean from head to toe, with a sweet smile on his face. He knew his decision had been the right one.

“Play by yourself for a bit. Dad will be ready soon.”

Su Youli didn’t play. He opened his small suitcase, placed his little pillow and pajamas inside, struggled a bit to zip it up, then pushed it over next to his father’s large suitcase. Shen Minyan washed up quickly, refreshed, and lifted his little one with one arm while pulling the two suitcases downstairs. They were leaving too early. The other three families hadn’t woken up yet. He had to say goodbye to his friends. The little guy only hesitated for a moment before going to knock on Brother Qiqi’s door.

“Youyou, you’re up so early!”

Su Youli smiled, his face tilted up. “Good morning, Aunt Hua Zhao. Is Brother Qiqi awake? Youyou wants to say goodbye to him.”

Hua Zhao was surprised. “Goodbye?”

She thought they were all going back together, since they lived so close.

The little guy nodded, his big eyes sparkling. “Youyou is going abroad to see his dads.”

Hua Zhao understood. She’d heard Pei Yi mention Youyou’s past and that his two foster fathers were being treated abroad. If that was the case, they did need to say goodbye. Youyou would be gone for a while, and Qiqi probably wouldn’t see him for a long time.

“Come in. Qiqi is still asleep. I’ll wake him up for you.”

Hua Zhao took the little guy’s hand into the suite, opened the outer door, and there was Pei Qiqi, asleep in the small bed inside. Pei Qiqi’s sleeping posture was very proper: lying flat on his back, hands folded over his stomach.

“Brother Qiqi, wake up!”

The little guy leaned over the bed and called out. The voice was too soft, and the person in bed didn’t stir. The little guy stood on tiptoe and pinched Pei Qiqi’s cheek.

“Brother Qiqi~”

The little guy lowered his voice, drawing out the last syllable. Pei Qiqi opened his eyes, turned his head, and saw Su Youli.

“Youyou?” Pei Qiqi, still half-asleep, thought he was seeing things.

Why was Youyou by his bed so early in the morning?

“Yes, it’s me. Brother Qiqi, I came to say goodbye. I’m going abroad to see my dads.”

Pei Qiqi’s brain was still fuzzy. What dad? What goodbye?

“I’m going somewhere far away. I’ll be gone for a long time. You have to remember to miss me, okay.”

Pei Qiqi finally understood. Youyou was leaving.

He sat up immediately, his hair messy, and asked, “When are you leaving?”
