The conversation above might sound quite boring and childish at first glance, but before Song Li asked, he didn’t think so at all.
After all, he and He Muyan had only met a few times. Although they had hastily gotten their marriage certificate and were in a legal cohabitation relationship, it didn’t mean the two of them could suddenly accept each other and share the same bed right away.
Even if he himself didn’t mind, someone as noble and elegant as He Muyan should at least mind a little bit, right?
As it turned out, He Muyan didn’t mind at all.
Rather, he had absolutely no feeling about the matter. Not only did he feel nothing about them sleeping in the same room and the same bed, but even regarding the marriage certificate itself, he never showed any overly obvious emotion from beginning to end.
He was too placid, too calm, like an AI devoid of feelings.
Judging by his actions and emotional fluctuations up to this point, Song Li had every reason to believe that this man had registered the marriage with him purely to deal with his family’s urge for him to marry, simply to complete a task.
Then what did he count as? Just a piece of data helping an AI complete a simulation task.
There were thousands upon thousands of such pieces of data in the world; he was just the one who happened to be chosen.
If during the subsequent simulation process he was found to be useless, it was entirely possible that he would be deleted at any time.
Completely erased from his life trajectory without leaving a single trace.
That would be too tragic.
Song Li couldn’t help letting his imagination run wild for a while before entering the master bedroom He Muyan had mentioned to him. Compared to the luxury of the living room, the bedroom was much simpler and more elegant, with a very European decoration style that matched the feeling He Muyan gave off rather well.
Song Li put his luggage in an inconspicuous corner. Without He Muyan’s permission, he didn’t want to disrupt this private space that originally belonged to him alone for the time being.
There was a bathroom inside the bedroom. He Muyan still seemed to be busy with something outside at the moment, so Song Li planned to take advantage of this time to take a shower first.
In fact, he had already showered once at home, but after all, he had been drinking with Xue Sang for a while, and he was afraid he still smelled of alcohol.
On the way over in the car, He Muyan kept the car windows down the whole time, so Song Li felt that he disliked the smell of alcohol.
When he came out after showering, He Muyan was surprisingly already in the bedroom. He seemed to have already showered, wearing silk pajamas as he half-reclined on the bed, reading a book. A few strands of his slightly damp hair fell across his forehead, and the small orange lamp by the bedside cast a soft, warm glow over his profile.
This version of He Muyan suddenly took on a very grounded, domestic vibe, possessing a different kind of attractiveness.
For no reason at all, Song Li felt a bit nervous. Clutching the towel he used to dry his hair; he stood frozen on the spot.
He Muyan had already looked up before setting his book down to stare at him.
He sized Song Li up, his gaze sweeping from top to bottom, unashamedly licking across his body like a tongue of fire.
After showering, Song Li had changed back into his tank top and shorts. It seemed to be a new set as the color was slightly different from the one he had been wearing back at his own house.
His skin was fair, and this kind of clothing revealed a lot. His neck and chest, steamed pink by the hot water, were clearly visible. His arms were slender and long, his waist was thin, and the joints of his wrists and ankles were beautifully formed. His entire frame was too frail, making him look somewhat delicate and easily blown away by the wind.
Such a thin and weak body gradually overlapped with the memories of that night.
He Muyan lowered his eyelashes, his voice slightly raspy, “Are all your pajamas like this?”
“Huh?” Song Li looked down at himself, tugging at the hem of his shirt. “Yeah, it’s summer, and I’m sensitive to the heat. It’s comfortable to wear this.”
He Muyan gave an “en”, “Come over and sleep, it’s late.”
Song Li nodded, tossed the dry towel over his head to give it a few more careless rubs until it was mostly damp, and then set the towel down to walk carefully toward the bed.
Bracing a hand against the mattress, he climbed onto the bed, taking care to keep his movements as quiet and gentle as possible. He lifted a corner of the blanket and slipped inside. Just as the back of his head touched the pillow, he heard a “snap” from the side; the small orange lamp by the bedside was turned off, and the entire room instantly plunged into a quiet darkness.
Song Li kept his eyes open, trying his best to ignore the sound of another man’s breathing beside him.
It had been a very long time since he had slept in the same bed with someone. Although Xue Sang often crashed at his place, he had never once let that kid climb into his bed.
So, he was really afraid that he might end up with insomnia tonight simply because he couldn’t adjust.
He Muyan was a very quiet sleeper; even his exhalations were steady and soft. Song Li was actually afraid that if he accidentally breathed too heavily, he might get kicked right out of bed.
His worry was clearly superfluous. He was so nervous that his breathing was several times lighter than usual; he could practically cosplay as a corpse, and he would definitely do a hundred times better than those unprofessional extras at Hengdian World Studios.
After lying in this position for a very, very long time, Song Li still hadn’t fallen asleep. Instead, he felt his brain and nerves growing increasingly excited and sensitive, allowing him to hear even the slightest movement in the dark with absolute clarity.
For instance, just now, he felt the person beside him shift slightly. Song Li immediately tense his body in response. Only when he realized a moment later that there was no further movement did he quietly let out a sigh of relief.
Who would have thought that before he could relax for even a single second, he suddenly heard He Muyan speak up, “Are you asleep?”
Song Li’s heart went up and down, nearly draining all his strength. He waited a moment before answering in a low voice, “I can’t sleep. I might be a bit sensitive to unfamiliar beds.”
He Muyan gave an “en,” his throat slightly raspy, “It’s easy to get insomnia when you’re sensitive to an unfamiliar bed. You need to do something else to help you sleep and distract you.”
He spoke with utter seriousness, which piqued Song Li’s interest. He asked, “Like what?”
The bedding beside him shifted; He Muyan had probably turned over slightly. When he spoke again, his voice sounded even raspier, “Making love. Is that okay?”
Song Li’s hand froze beneath the blanket, and he subconsciously turned his head to look sideways.
Sure enough, He Muyan had already turned toward him, his eyes strikingly bright in the darkness.
Song Li swallowed hard.
He swore that originally, he had absolutely no thoughts in that direction; not even a single bit.
But on a quiet night like this, in such an ambiguous atmosphere, and after He Muyan had said those words, he suddenly felt his body begin to heat up bit by bit.
Seeing that he hadn’t responded for a long time, He Muyan spoke again, “If you’re unwilling…”
“Sure.”
Song Li wanted to bite off his own tongue. Why was he in such a hurry as if he was terrified He Muyan would regret it and change his mind?
Didn’t this make him look incredibly horny!
Whether He Muyan thought of him that way or not, he didn’t know. He only knew that when He Muyan turned over and hovered over him, his face grew so hot it felt like it was burning up.
He suddenly felt very glad that the light wasn’t on right now; otherwise, his face, which was flushed as red as a monkey’s butt, would definitely look hilarious to He Muyan.
The other man’s hand fumbled around for a moment, seemingly searching for something, before pausing.
Song Li shuddered involuntarily. Pondering He Muyan’s movement just now, he suddenly realized; he was probably looking for buttons.
But he was wearing a large tank top.
He Muyan lowered his head and leaned close to his ear, his breath terrifyingly hot.
Song Li trembled uncontrollably as He Muyan’s restrained voice sounded softly beside his ear, “Don’t wear this kind of clothing in the future, it’s too erotic.”
Huh? Was the large tank top erotic? Did it have to be a long-sleeved shirt with buttons to not be erotic?
Who would have thought that despite having a face like that, He Muyan was an old-fashioned conservative at heart.
Song Li snapped back to reality, suddenly feeling a bit scared. He subconsciously reached out and grabbed the clothing of the man on top of him.
Embarrassed, he whispered softly, “Be, be a bit gentle, I don’t have much experience.”
He Muyan seemed to freeze for a moment, also asking him in a low voice, “Last time was your first time?”
The roots of Song Li’s ears burned hot as he mumbled an “en.”
He Muyan’s movements paused for a few seconds. Although it was in the dark, Song Li felt as if the man had chuckled very softly.
It was only for a brief moment. Before he could steal another look to confirm it, his top was pulled off by He Muyan in one swift motion, and his actions became noticeably rougher than before.
For the rest of the time, Song Li completely lost all initiative. He Muyan’s movements couldn’t be called gentle, but his restraint was still palpable.
As the long first half of the night passed, he had basically lost consciousness by the time he was carried to the bathroom to be cleaned up.
He slept incredibly soundly during the latter half of the night.
He Muyan hadn’t lied to him; this method really did successfully solve his insomnia from the unfamiliar bed.
After a night of sound sleep, he still opened his eyes right on time the next morning according to his biological clock.
He Muyan had risen even earlier than him; the other half of the bed had long since gone cold.
Song Li got up and put on his clothes. His body felt alright; his waist was a bit sore, and that place hurt a little too, but otherwise, there wasn’t anything particularly unbearable at all.
After washing up, he checked the time and saw it was still early before he had to leave for work. Usually, if time permitted, he would choose to make breakfast at home and eat while watching the news. Spending his morning in such a leisurely way would keep him in a very pleasant mood all day.
However, this wasn’t his own home after all, and he didn’t know He Muyan’s habits, so being too casual wouldn’t do. He walked into the living room, glanced around, and decided to visit the kitchen first.
The kitchen was bright and clean without a single speck of dust on the glazed countertop, and the cookware was also shiny and brand new. It was clear this place was just for show at a glance.
He opened the refrigerator without much expectation, only to be surprised to find a carton of eggs, two packs of sliced bread, some vacuum-packed ham, and several cans of beer inside. It seemed that He Muyan wasn’t entirely detached from the mundane world either.
Just as he was pondering what good food he could make with these simple ingredients, he heard a slight commotion coming from outside.
