Song Xinglan was standing on the balcony. There was a cigarette between his fingers. The glow of the cigarette tip flickered, surrounded by white smoke. He turned to look at Song Jin. His expression was cold and intense in the night.
“Still awake?” Song Xinglan asked when Song Jin walked onto the balcony.
“Did you find Song Xiangping?” Song Jin asked directly.
“You heard?” Song Xinglan glanced at the nearby bay window and said, “It’s easy to catch a cold from the night breeze.”
“What are you planning to do with him?” Song Jin asked.
Song Xinglan extinguished the cigarette and casually rubbed his fingers together. He said, “You just stay at home.”
“Tell me.” It would be a lie to say he wasn’t scared or panicked. Song Jin took a step forward, looking up anxiously and asked, “What are you going to do?”
“Something not very good.” Song Xinglan lowered his head slightly. The cold, faint smell of smoke lingering around him. He said, “Song Xiangping isn’t worth you getting so anxious about.”
“It’s not…” Song Jin suddenly felt a bit dazed and said, “I’m not anxious for him…”
“Then for whom?” Song Xinglan asked.
“Can’t… can’t we just put him in jail? There’s no need to… put yourself…”
Song Jin spoke haltingly. He did not quite understand his own thoughts at that moment. He didn’t sympathise with Song Xiangping, not at all. He knew he was soft-hearted and sometimes very cowardly. He does not possess a strong character. But if he still tried to say things like “After all, he is our father,” or “Let’s just forget it,” or “Let him go,” then he would be completely betraying his mother, himself, the once somewhat complete family, and the young Song Xinglan who had suffered so much abuse.
“You’re worried about me?” Song Xinglan asked before Song Jin could finish thinking.
The moon was very bright tonight. Song Jin hadn’t seen it from his own room because it was blocked by the bay window. But now standing on the balcony, he could see it clearly. The moonlight was intense, illuminating Song Xinglan’s face with a pale, cold beauty. His brows and eyes were dark. His features were flawless.
Song Jin realised that Song Xinglan was right. He was worried. But not about Song Xiangping. He was worried about Song Xinglan.
They had only had less than two days of peaceful life, without madness or amnesia. He was living under the same roof with a clear-headed Song Xinglan. He was his only family and Song Jin had let his guard down. He knew Song Xinglan wouldn’t hurt him anymore. So he wanted to cherish this, to prolong these days. He didn’t want to accept any disruptions.
But what if something happened to Song Xinglan this time? If he got into trouble or got convicted for something because of Song Xiangping, it would all be over.
Song Jin, feeling a bit lost, avoided Song Xinglan’s gaze. His voice was soft and uncertain. But he honestly said, “I think so.”
“So you…”
Song Jin looked up as he spoke. But his vision was suddenly blocked. Song Xinglan held his waist, and without a word, kissed him forcefully.
The kiss came suddenly. Song Jin instinctively grabbed Song Xinglan’s arm. Almost instantly, his teeth were pried open, and their tongues intertwined. The saliva tasted faintly of tobacco. But Song Jin didn’t mind since it was subtle and cool. The rest was the fresh scent of both of them after showering. Song Xinglan used Song Jin’s body wash and shampoo. So they smelled the same.
Moonlight, night breeze, the rustling of leaves—everything else faded away. Song Xinglan, with one hand around Song Jin’s waist, pushed him back step by step, all the way to the bedroom, until Song Jin was pressed onto the bed with little effort.
In a haze, Song Jin was forced to endure the aggressive kiss. His heart pounded, sending blood and nerves into a frenzy. Heavy breathing filled his ears. It seemed like there was less and less air in his lungs. He clutched Song Xinglan’s arm, his nose letting out broken sounds as he struggled to breathe.
“Song… uh…” Song Jin pushed against Song Xinglan’s shoulder, struggling forcefully. “Wait… stop… I can’t breathe…”
Song Xinglan bit his lip and trailed kisses down to his collarbone and chest. He bent his knee to spread Song Jin’s legs apart. His left elbow was propped on the bed, while his right hand undid the buttons of Song Jin’s pyjamas, sliding down to hook his waistband and pull his pants down.

Song Jin gasped urgently. Tears of a physiological nature streaked down his cheeks. The corners of his mouth were moist with saliva. His body continued to twitch slightly after the climax. Song Xinglan lifted his head again to kiss his forehead, nose, cheeks, and lips, saying, “Ge, don’t worry. I’ll be back soon.”
Never before had Song Jin wanted to look directly into Song Xinglan’s eyes at a moment like this, to study his expression. But it was too dark to see clearly. The moonlight lingered sparingly not far away, resolutely keeping Song Jin suspended in a state of bewildered helplessness. Finally, he could only touch Song Xinglan’s slightly cool cheek with a distracted awareness, ensuring that they both still existed in this moment.

*Translator’s Note: Originally, I posted the Mature chapters on my wattpad. But wattpad deleted it because of its sensitive content. I had to make a blog for them in the end. I’m also in the middle of transferring all of my previous mature chapters from other translations to either my blog or wattpad. Life is hard… 😭😭😭 -K
