TC Extra 3

Happy Tomorrow

Ye Xingzhou had been away on a business trip in the capital for some time, and today was the fifth day. His schedule had been packed, and by the time he finished the day’s work, it was already nearly eight in the evening.

After getting into the car back to his residence, his secretary reported the next day’s schedule while he closed his eyes to rest, listening somewhat absentmindedly.

It was not until the car stopped that Ye Xingzhou opened his eyes and saw Qi Xing beneath the streetlamp outside the courtyard gate, leaning against the wall with his head lowered as he played on his phone and waited for him.

“Young Master Qi is here,” the secretary quietly reminded him.

Ye Xingzhou’s gaze fell on Qi Xing and remained there without a word.

Qi Xing had come suddenly. Ye Xingzhou had not known in advance, but he was not surprised; this boy was always like this, doing whatever came to mind, proactive and enthusiastic.

Was he surprised? Of course he was. To Ye Xingzhou, after returning exhausted from a full day of work, there could be no greater surprise than seeing Qi Xing waiting for him here.

He pushed open the car door and got out. Hearing the sound, Qi Xing, who had been absorbed in his game, looked up from the phone screen. The moment he saw him, a smile bloomed beneath the dim lights.

Ye Xingzhou strode forward and raised his arms to pull him into an embrace.

“So excited to see me?” Qi Xing tilted his head and laughed beside his ear.

Ye Xingzhou held him for a moment before letting go. “Let’s go inside.”

The moment the courtyard gate closed, Qi Xing jumped directly onto Ye Xingzhou’s back, pressing his entire body against him and wrapping both arms around his neck with a laugh. “Ye Xingzhou, your good Brother Qi came all this way specially to see you. Aren’t you especially surprised and touched?”

Ye Xingzhou turned his head to look at him. “Very surprised, very touched. Satisfied?”

“Not sincere at all.” Qi Xing gave a soft snort.

Ye Xingzhou said nothing more, carried him inside on his back, and tossed him onto the sofa.

He sat down as well, took off his suit jacket, loosened his tie, and completely relaxed.

Qi Xing leaned closer, reached out to slip off his glasses, and stared at his face.

Ye Xingzhou raised his eyes. “What are you looking at?”

Qi Xing said, “I haven’t seen you for days, I’ve missed you.”

That was simply the kind of person he was; He was always straightforward and open about his feelings, never bothering to hide them.

Looking at Qi Xing like this, Ye Xingzhou truly felt warmth welling up from the bottom of his heart. If this counted as surprise and being moved, then only Qi Xing could make him feel that way.

“Say it again.”

Qi Xing leaned even closer to him. “I’ve missed you, you bastard.”

At first, their kiss was restrained, but when Qi Xing’s hand came up to rest on his shoulder, Ye Xingzhou could no longer hold back. He cupped the back of Qi Xing’s head and stole his breath away.

It still wasn’t enough. The longer he spent with Qi Xing, the more he could feel the passionate, fervent love overflowing in his heart, a love that belonged only to Qi Xing.

He also needed Qi Xing’s love, which was just like spiritual opium; once addicted, one could only sink deeper and deeper.

They lingered against each other’s lips, reluctant to part. Qi Xing was no longer satisfied with such simple physical intimacy: “Ye Xingzhou, I tried to do it myself last night, but I couldn’t get it right, and I couldn’t sleep.”

Ye Xingzhou chuckled softly: “So you get insomnia too?”

Qi Xing glared at him. “Got a problem with that?”

Ye Xingzhou’s hand slipped beneath his shirt and rested against his waist: “Then let’s do it together.”

This sitting posture was particularly torturous, but Qi Xing liked it. He especially liked seeing his own reflection in Ye Xingzhou’s deep, lustful eyes when he was engrossed in the moment.

Ye Xingzhou felt the same way. It was only at these moments when Qi Xing was caught up in desire, constantly murmuring his name, with even his breath was stained with his scent that he felt that Qi Xing truly belonged to him, and belonged only to him.

Qi Xing tilted his head back, panting, his body drenched in sweat. Ye Xingzhou pressed against him, kissing his fully exposed neck, wiping away the sweat that trickled down his neck bit by bit, leaving deeper and deeper red marks.

Qi Xing was so pleasured by his actions that he was trembling all over. He hooked his legs around his waist, his calves unconsciously rubbing against his back, urging and begging for more.

“Ye Xingzhou…”

“Hmm?” Ye Xingzhou’s voice was languid and sexy, making Qi Xing’s heart itch even more.

Qi Xing put his hands on Ye Xingzhou’s shoulders, grabbed them tightly, and eagerly kissed him on the lips as Ye Xingzhou looked up.

After satisfying himself, Qi Xing lay sprawled across the sofa, half-closing his eyes as he savoured what had just happened. Ye Xingzhou lounged beside him, lazily lighting a cigarette and holding it between his lips while his fingers tracing slowly over Qi Xing’s still damp and sticky back, tapping it gently.

Although it tickled a little, Qi Xing did not complain. He glanced back at him and said, “Actually, I’m here because I’m attending the investment summit tomorrow.”

Ye Xingzhou nodded. “Mm.”

“I guessed,” a faint smile appeared in Ye Xingzhou’s eyes. “Surely you didn’t come all this way just for me?”

Qi Xing choked on his words: “Bastard.”

He really had come specially to see him. Originally, his father had planned to attend the summit himself, but Qi Xing had volunteered to take over the trip, travelling all this way just to see Ye Xingzhou.

“So you did come for me.”

Qi Xing: “…”

Was teasing him really that much fun?

Qi Xing turned his head away, ignoring that jerk, pulling out his phone to continue the game he had been playing earlier.

Ye Xingzhou’s fingers continued to trace slowly across his bare back as he smoked, though his thoughts had already drifted elsewhere.

Looking back, most of his memories from childhood onward were not particularly pleasant. They were cold, gloomy, and dark, as though covered by a layer of dust, with scarcely any brightness to be found.

He had met all kinds of people. Whether it had been the vicious, mocking, and contemptuous faces of his youth, or the countless people who later surrounded him with flattery, ingratiation, and false smiles, every one of them eventually faded into nothing more than a vague symbol, swallowed by those dusty grey memories, no longer worth remembering.

Very few people had truly left any mark on his long life, and not all of those memories were especially good ones. Qi Xing was the only one who left a deep and lasting impression.

The attraction he felt for others back then was nothing more than a desperate need for comfort and support when he was young and vulnerable. But Qi Xing was different. Qi Xing was not merely a light that illuminated his gloomy life; he was the sun itself. Qi Xing’s very existence was enough to warm him.

It was Qi Xing’s existence that opened a window in the walls around his heart, allowing him to appreciate the beauty of flowers and the splendor of the four seasons.

If Qi Xing hadn’t rashly barged into his life, he might never have known that he was capable of loving someone so purely, without ulterior motives, and even so recklessly.

After finishing a game, Qi Xing turned around again and said, “Ye Xingzhou, I’m hungry.”

Ye Xingzhou picked up the shirt he had casually tossed onto the floor earlier and motioned toward him, “Go take a shower, we’ll go out for a late-night snack.”

By the time they drove out, it was already past ten, the time when the city’s lights were at their most dazzling.

Admiring the night view outside the window, Qi Xing suddenly remembered the first time he had come here, how he and Ye Xingzhou had chased each other through the city until he ended up in the hospital. He could not help but laugh.

Keeping his eyes on the road, Ye Xingzhou asked, “What’s so funny?”

Qi Xing smiled. “You wished me a Happy new Year back then.”

Although the remark seemed rather sudden, Ye Xingzhou immediately understood which moment “back then” he was referring to: “You still remember?”

“Of course I remember.” Qi Xing thought to himself that it was the first time this bastard had ever said something nice to him in a serious way, and he was flattered and would remember it for the rest of his life.

Ye Xingzhou smiled too. He remembered that it was the first time in so long that he had the opportunity to say “Happy New Year” to someone.

Qi Xing had wished him a Happy New Year, too, and he had come back to him.

Seeing Ye Xingzhou smile, Qi Xing’s own smile couldn’t help but widen even further: “Sugar daddy, what shall we eat?”

Ye Xingzhou: “Whatever you want.”

The result of leaving it up to Qi Xing was that he marched into a convenience store, swept up a pile of beer, soft drinks, spicy strips, and puffed snacks, then dragged Ye Xingzhou to a quiet spot beside the city lake, declaring that they were there to enjoy the night view.

Ye Xingzhou casually looked through the things he had bought, opened only a can of cola, and left everything else untouched. “We both have work tomorrow. Don’t drink too much, and don’t touch the junk food either.”

Qi Xing popped open a can of beer, licked away the foam that sprayed out, then casually tore open a packet of latiao.

“I only bought two cans of beer. I won’t get drunk. And what’s wrong with junk food? Eating junk food to satisfy your cravings is what makes life worth living. Otherwise, try turning into a cat and eating that bland, oil-free, low-salt cat food every single day. That’s what you’d call a boring life.”

Ye Xingzhou said, “In your dream, didn’t you quite like eating cat food?”

Qi Xing himself had been the one to say so, otherwise Ye Xingzhou would never have known.

Qi Xing wanted to pounce on him and scratch him. Couldn’t he just shut him up?

He held a piece of latiao up to Ye Xingzhou’s mouth: “Open up.”

Under Qi Xing’s unwavering gaze, Ye Xingzhou frowned but obediently opened his mouth and took a bite.

“Is it good?”

“It’s too salty.”

Qi Xing lectured him, “But eating it makes you happy, no? Want another?”

Ye Xingzhou politely declined. Qi Xing clicked his tongue. “Fine then. I used to love these when I was little, though I didn’t get to eat them very often. Today they don’t taste nearly as good as I remember, even though it’s the same brand.”

“You ate these often as a child?”

“Not really,” Qi Xing shook his head. “My parents wouldn’t let me, so I had to sneak out to buy them. The two times I ran into you, I’d gotten out of school early and gone over to the high school side to buy snacks. Then you threw away one of my ice creams.”

Ye Xingzhou fell silent for a moment before standing up.

Qi Xing looked up at him. “I’m not finished eating yet…”

“Stay here, I’ll be right back,” he said, walking back to the convenience store where they had just bought the snacks.

Five minutes later, Ye Xingzhou returned with a strawberry ice cream cone in his hand, which he handed over to Qi Xing: “This is to pay you back.”

Qi Xing froze for a moment before laughing so hard he could barely stand up straight.

That had happened so many years ago, yet Ye Xingzhou was compensating him with an ice cream only now?

Ye Xingzhou raised an eyebrow: “So do you want it?”

Of course he did!

Qi Xing snatched the ice cream from him, tore off the wrapper, then handed it back, deliberately pitching his voice high as he repeated the words he had spoken all those years ago: “Big brother, you’re really handsome. Can I be friends with you?”

After all these years, he still remembered that sentence. Ye Xingzhou smiled and took the ice cream, saying, “Thank you.”

Qi Xing laughed so hard he collapsed against him.

The ice cream was overwhelmingly sweet, and not to Ye Xingzhou’s liking. Nevertheless, he ate it slowly, finishing every bite.

Qi Xing continued sipping his beer, glancing at him from time to time, his eyes full of smiles.

Ye Xingzhou knew that he was genuinely happy now. Qi Xing was actually very easy to please; A few kind words and a sincere heart were enough for him to follow along without hesitation.

“Qi Xing.”

“Mn?”

“Be happy tomorrow, and be happy every day.”

In that instant, he saw a thousand sparks of joy bloom together in Qi Xing’s eyes.
