WCHM Chapter 50

[Second World – ABO Plot – Poor Beta Student] Chapter 50

Lu Chi, who just finished in a stranger’s mouth while riding their face, smiled faintly.

[Really?] he asked. [No explicit or violent content?]

[It’s true, Host Baby!] The system nodded enthusiastically. [The plot is completely sweet, no angst at all. The Main Gong Lin Jingsi and the Main Shou Yu Kexing have a 99% compatibility rate, envied by Alphas and Omegas across the entire interstellar! Sigh, our seduction plan is probably going to be especially difficult…]

[By the way, Baby, do you even know what “compatibility rate” means?]

Lu Chi didn’t answer immediately. He lowered his head to look at the worn electronic wristband on his wrist, testing it by reaching out and lightly tapping the smooth screen.

A beep sounded.

In his iris vision, a small floating screen instantly appeared, looking like an immersive smart map. His current position was marked with a red dot, and the arrow beneath his feet pointed toward a location some distance away. In the upper-left corner was a line of small text:

[Pending Task: Return to the lounge and request the mentor to withdraw the mistakenly reported competition registration (avoid the bullying Alphas).]

It seemed that in this world, he wouldn’t have to worry about getting lost anymore.

From behind, on the training island, waves of shouts calling “Lin Jingsi” echoed continuously.

Lu Chi didn’t turn back. Calmly lifting his gaze, he followed the directional arrow in his field of vision and walked to a nearby waiting pavilion. After confirming the suspended train number he needed to take, he finally answered the system: [I know.]

Lu Chi wasn’t unfamiliar with ABO settings.

When the system had disappeared before, it had left behind plenty of instructions, as if afraid he wouldn’t understand terms like marking, heat cycle, deep bonding, and so on. But as a young film emperor with overwhelmingly striking looks, Lu Chi had clearly seen it all.

He had many talented fans. In the worlds they created, Lu Chi had all sorts of settings: When he was an Alpha, he was a pretty strawberry-scented kitty who liked clinging to his partner and acting delicate; when he was an Omega, he was a cold, untouchable black lotus, ruthlessly stepping over everyone infatuated with him to climb higher…

But he rarely saw a Beta version of himself.

Because his fans refused to allow any “ordinary” setting to be associated with him. In their eyes, anything mundane was just trying to leech off the perfect Lu Chi, so they all screamed: Get lost, you moochers! Stay away from my baby!!

Lu Chi: ^^

Who would’ve thought he’d one day transmigrate into a Beta?

And with his unreliable, idiotic system, not only was he a Beta, but he was also a very poor one.

Lu Chi lowered his head, looking at the worn but clean dark clothes he was wearing. He didn’t know what material they were made of, but even after being roughly torn open by Lin Jingsi earlier, they hadn’t ripped. The loose threads swayed stubbornly in the wind, boldly meeting their owner’s gaze.

Lu Chi smiled.

[Transmit the plot.]

The system cheekily imitated him: [Mm-hmm, Baby.]

The glass of the waiting pavilion reflected his figure as the suspended train displayed its arrival. Lu Chi stepped inside, and his iris automatically scanned in silence. Inside the carriage, an AI prompt sounded: [Welcome aboard the SS Hometown Line. Please take your seats in an orderly manner. We wish you a pleasant and relaxing day.]

In his mind, Lu Chi heard the system’s rising and falling mechanical narration: [This is a grand sweet romance masterpiece blending cyberpunk, mecha sci-fi, and dystopia!]

[The Main Gong and Main Shou fall in love at first sight, and then fall even deeper upon meeting again! With their 99% compatibility rate, they set the star network ablaze and became the nation’s beloved first-love couple! So sweet, so sweet~]

Lu Chi raised a brow at its choice of words, asking, [Love at first sight?]

[Yes!] The system replied. [They even had a temporary mark the very first time they met!]

Although it was cyberpunk, the original plot was clearly still clichéd, as the author used the all-purpose trope of a one-night stand to open the world.

At the once-every-four-years Mecha Combat Tournament, Main Gong and Protagonist Lin Jingsi was drugged by a rival faction aligned against his family. He went blind and was forcibly driven into a heat state, falling into crisis in the two hours before taking the stage.

Lin Jingsi was the only son of the Lin family, leaders of the military Legion. Upon his first differentiation, he became one of the Federation’s rare S-class Alphas at only twenty years old.

But in an era where the Legion were gradually declining and corporate conglomerates were rising to power, he had borne the responsibility of revitalizing his family since childhood. Therefore, he had always been someone other Alphas looked up to.

His reputation was clearly of utmost importance to the conservative military faction. But because Lin Jingsi had always been invincible, even though the interstellar battlefield had been peaceful in recent years, there were still endless streams of students following in the footsteps of this supernova, choosing to join the Legion after graduation and become fresh meat and blood for the Lin family.

In the interstellar ABO era, the Federation’s public ethos was simple and earnest. Everyone worshiped mecha combat and longed for the sea of stars.

Now, with his second differentiation approaching and the Federation Academy’s combat tournament once again under nationwide attention, Lin Jingsi would not lose, and absolutely could not lose.

Thus, at this moment, under the careful arrangement of the plot, the youngest son of the electronic conglomerate Yu family, Yu Kexing, mistakenly barged into the S-class battle zone lounge.

As the Main Shou, Yu Kexing was delicate and quiet by nature, a natural A-class Omega with a pure, holy body. After stumbling into the lounge, he discovered Lin Jingsi in the midst of heat. Letting out a panicked cry, he immediately tried to call a doctor to help the Protagonist.

[And then the lights went out!] The system said. [When the scene appears again, the Protagonist has already won first place in the combat tournament, and the Main Shou returns home, covering his neck.]

[A week later, he collapses in public. There is moderate damage to his left leg, and the area looks like a gunshot.]

Lu Chi looked out at the neon sky beyond the train’s window and asked: [So it was secretly replaced with a prosthetic limb?]

[Exactly!] The system replied. [This is a cyber world, so prosthetics are common. He found someone to perform surgery within a few days. Host Baby, no need to worry!]

Such a kind host, even worrying about the Main Shou, ah!

[Did you never think about who shot him?] Lu Chi responded with a quiet hum.

[The original novel didn’t say.] The system replied confidently. [And what does it matter? He’s the young master of the largest conglomerate. It’s normal for enemies to come after him. It doesn’t affect the temporary marking plot anyway.]

[How do you know he was temporarily marked?] Lu Chi asked again.

[Because he covered the back of his neck where the gland is, ah!] The system patiently explained. [If it weren’t for the mark, how could the Protagonist possibly have won the competition while blind? That was mecha combat; if he were really blind, he would’ve crashed to death in the simulation battlefield!]

[Host, you’re so silly!]

[Mm. Since you’re so smart, go play.] Lu Chi magnanimously didn’t argue with his senile old cat.

[Mm-hmm ≽^•⩊•^≼!]

Lu Chi smiled, temporarily closed the plot transmission, lifted his eyes, and quietly surveyed his surroundings, observing this unfamiliar world without drawing attention.

It was already evening. The suspended train was designed in a semi-transparent style. Looking up, the sky was shrouded in blue-violet neon, and looking down, towering steel buildings rose coldly into the clouds.

Several suspended trains undulated like waves, weaving between the tall structures and passing in front of countless flashing, dazzling electronic screens. From time to time, spherical black objects streaked across the sky. Narrowing his eyes to look carefully, Lu Chi realized they were clusters of cold, mechanical “heavenly eyes.”

A silver-gray lotus emblem was engraved on each of them. Underneath, a tall and lifelike holographic figure smiled and spoke to the entire floating island: [Welcome to the Floating Arena Island. All mechanical equipment here is sponsored by us.]

[Technology changes life. Bionics embrace the homeland. Hometown Group is dedicated to serving you. If you have any needs, please call the order communication line: 0087-877……]

A world with a strong sense of technological futurism.

Lu Chi lowered his head and noticed that the electronic wristband on his wrist also bore a lotus engraving. After quietly observing for a while, he saw that the bionic ear of a middle-aged man beside him carried the same lotus mark.

Lu Chi recalled the voice he heard when he first boarded the suspended train: [Welcome aboard the SS Hometown Line.]

All products of Hometown Group’s technology.

He calmly lowered his gaze, awkwardly opened the electronic wristband, fumbled until he found the search bar, and typed in the two words: [Hometown Group]. The next second, a blue-and-white page visible only through his iris display unfolded.

[Hometown Group, the Federation’s largest conglomerate, a bionic technology corporation jointly established by the Yu family, the Charles family, the Rockefeller family, and others. Primarily focused on AI and bionics. Maintains deep cooperation with the Federation. If needed, please call the order communication line……]

So… the Hometown Group was connected to the Main Shou’s family?

Lu Chi raised a brow. The conglomerate felt like enormous tentacles silently permeating every corner of society.

Would such a vast and mysterious family truly raise a naïve, delicate A-class Omega?

He closed the page and awkwardly opened his own album and profile, but after looking for a while, he discovered that his identity had an even worse starting point than the previous world.

In this world, Lu Chi was once again born in an orphanage, a Beta whom society paid the least attention to.

He had studied hard all the way, entering the prestigious Federation Academy as a specially admitted student. Yet he was bullied by the Alpha and Omega “heavenly dragons” within the academy, his mental state teetering on the brink of collapse.

Two days ago, the group of Alphas who bullied him, by some unknown means, had actually signed Lu Chi up for the academy’s combat tournament. The tournament required signing a life-and-death waiver; one careless mistake could result in severe injury, as mecha operation was directly linked to the brain, and every year, countless people were paralyzed due to operational errors.

Lu Chi didn’t even have a mecha. How was he supposed to fight those young masters?

Right now, he hadn’t even touched one, ever, in his entire life!

There was only one short week left before Lu Chi’s match. In one week, the best he could manage was to clumsily pilot the academy-issued display-model mecha, then get beaten into a drooling, bedridden vegetable, just like the senile old cat in his head.

Absolutely not.

Lu Chi couldn’t help clicking his tongue.

At that moment, a familiar shout suddenly rang out inside the carriage. He looked up at the holographic advertising screen above the suspended train, noticing it was broadcasting the academy’s live combat tournament. At the same time, every massive electronic screen outside the window flickered and switched to the same synchronized livestream.

The Federation Academy’s combat tournament was indeed highly anticipated, and the floating island had been built specifically for it. Through the train window, Lu Chi locked eyes with Lin Jingsi displayed across countless skyscraper screens.

The camera zoomed precisely onto the high-spirited Alpha. Unhurriedly, he gathered up the very private clothes and underwear in his hands, then lifted his gaze expressionlessly. His still blind, dark-green pupils fixed tightly on the lens, and Lu Chi heard him speak coldly:

“Why did you run away?”

The shouting at the center of the island abruptly stalled, and even the commentator’s excited voice fell silent as well.

Everyone was confused, wondering what the usually taciturn supernova was saying. Yet Lin Jingsi seemed unaware of the strange atmosphere. Instead, he kept his gaze raised, his voice icy and dangerous as he threatened:

“I know you’re watching.”

“No matter where you are, I will find you.”

“You can forget about escaping me.”

Lu Chi paused. After a moment, he lifted a brow very slightly.

At the same time, the silent commentator suddenly came to a realization and excitedly explained, “Student Lin Jingsi is unexpectedly breaking his usual silence as he delivers a ruthless declaration before the combat tournament! As expected of the academy’s most watched supernova, he’s declaring he’ll hunt down every fleeing enemy! Terrifying indeed… We’re really looking forward to his performance!”

So it was a threat directed at his opponents?

The students scratched their heads briefly in understanding and resumed their frenzied screaming.

Even the system in Lu Chi’s mind spoke in confusion: [The Protagonist looks very alert, not like someone blind. Could it be he hasn’t been drugged yet?] With that, it clenched its little digital fists and hurriedly urged: [Baby, hurry to the S-class battle zone lounge and lie in wait! We can’t let the Protagonist temporarily mark the main Shou!]

[They’re both your ATMs! I refuse to let them get together!]

The suspended train stopped, and Lu Chi walked to the door of the old, cramped D-class lounge. His steps halted as he looked toward the group of Alphas standing watchfully at the entrance.

Their eyes met.

The Alphas’ expressions were malicious as they all rose and began walking toward him. Lu Chi lifted a brow, tilted his head casually, and smiled at the trembling system in his mind.

[I think you should first worry about whether I’ll end up a drooling idiot.]

Because in the hands of those Alphas…

They were holding a spray specifically designed to forcibly induce heat, affecting Betas as well.

……………………….

T.N: So in this world, Betas go into heat as well? I’m confused, also confused about Lu Chi’s so-called “pheromones” that Lin Jingsi inhaled. Do Betas also have pheromones? Or is he just an Omega in disguise, as we all probably think?
