CFHE Chapter 90

Extra 4

The two had a simple meal.

Wen Yu casually sent a message back to Wen Ziming’s secretary—”Returning to the old estate can be considered, but it’s best not to bother me before the scores come out”—then left with Fu Yuhan.

The weather was quite nice that day. Strangely enough, no matter what the weather was like at the end of May, every year around the days of the college entrance exam, the city’s weather was always bright and sunny. Fu Yuhan threw on a simple white t-shirt. When he went downstairs and the sun hit him, his skin tone almost merged with his clothes.

Wen Yu, following behind him, suddenly froze and grabbed his arm: “Wait.”

Fu Yuhan was nearly blinded by the blazing sun. Squinting, he turned back: “Hm?”

“Wait here for me.”

With that, Wen Yu hurriedly turned into a nearby convenience store.

Fu Yuhan was completely confused.

It wasn’t until the other came out and peeled open a band-aid to stick on the side of his neck that Fu Yuhan realized what had happened.

His expression changed: “You…”

“An accident,” Wen Yu smoothly stroked the spot on his neck, his fingertips reluctantly letting go as he said in a low voice, “If it were winter, it wouldn’t show.”

“…You could pay attention and not leave these kinds of things.” Fu Yuhan’s gaze flickered slightly. He stiffly looked away, but his fingers unconsciously touched the band-aid, rubbing it back and forth lightly.

So Wen Yu watched as his fair ear tips slowly turned red under the sun.

“Hm?”

“Kissing there…” Fu Yuhan pressed his lips together, his voice so low it was almost inaudible. “Feels pretty good…”

The side of the neck was an area rich in nerve endings—a lover’s touch made him very sensitive there.

“…”

Wen Yu glanced at him.

Fu Yuhan turned his head away, the red spreading from his ears to his cheeks like burning clouds.

“Don’t say that kind of thing on the street from now on,” Wen Yu leaned closer, lowering his voice to whisper in his ear. “It makes me want to find somewhere with no people and fuck you.”

Fu Yuhan elbowed him in response.

“Alright, alright, I’ll stop teasing you.” Wen Yu agilely slid away from his attacking motion, jumping two steps onto the edge of the sidewalk. “I called a car.”

Although they had driver’s licenses and a car, sometimes taking a taxi was more convenient when going out. It was noon on a workday, and the streets weren’t congested. The two got in the car and soon arrived at that mall from last time.

“Ask them where they are.” Wen Yu noticed a popular new bubble tea shop that had opened near the mall with a line forming. He tilted his head and asked, “Do you want bubble tea?”

“Yeah, it’s hot as hell.”

Fu Yuhan said casually, pulling out his phone while about to sit on a cone-shaped warning barrier by his feet. Wen Yu grabbed him, glancing over meaningfully: “Sitting on that, aren’t you afraid your ass will hurt?”

The youth’s features were bold, his smile brilliant under the radiant sunlight.

Fu Yuhan was dazzled by his smile: “…”

He yanked his hand back, his face already half red: “If you weren’t my boyfriend, I’d beat you up right here.”

“If I wasn’t your boyfriend, I couldn’t tease you anyway.” Wen Yu watched with a smile as Fu Yuhan moved to sit on the knee-high flower bed stone platform by the roadside, walked over, and smoothly pulled the other phone from his pocket. “I’ll go buy bubble tea. Ask them where they are.”

He walked off as he spoke.

Fu Yuhan glared at his retreating back. After the heat on his face subsided a bit, he placed the phone in front of him.

The sun was intense, making the screen content somewhat hard to see. Fu Yuhan had to bend his waist a bit, using his back to block the sunlight.

Then the next second, he fell silent.

The phone unlocked smoothly, but this was Wen Yu’s phone.

The one the other person took must be his.

Wen Yu’s WeChat also had their group chat, so it wasn’t a big deal. Although Fu Yuhan had long ago been granted “permission to check his phone anytime,” he’d never actually looked at his private content—besides, he didn’t recognize those unfamiliar names on Wen Yu’s WeChat or the other group chats that clearly had complicated relationships.

He used Wen Yu’s account to send their location in the group, indicating they’d both arrived.

No one said anything except Chu Lei, who gave him a reply.

Chu Lei: Be right there!

“Right there” really was right there—after Fu Yuhan struggled to make out those two characters under the blazing sun, he heard someone calling him.

“Fu-ge—”

Super loud, and super embarrassing.

Fu Yuhan looked up without much hope and sure enough saw Chu Lei sitting on the back of Yang Fan’s bicycle, waving at him: “Fu-ge! We’re here—”

Honestly, way too stupid.

He considered the possibility of pretending not to know them right now.

But before he could figure it out, those two bicycles had already ridden up to him. Yang Fan was carrying Chu Lei, and Pi-qiu was carrying Beanpole. Both pairs jumped off their bicycles. The two riders went to the roadside to lock up the public bikes, while Chu Lei bounced over to Fu Yuhan: “Hey Fu-ge, where’s Yu-ge?”

“He…” Fu Yuhan had only said one word when he felt the phone in his hand vibrate.

He looked down and saw two confusing characters.

At first, he thought the sun was too bright and he’d misread, but looking closer, he realized he hadn’t. The caller ID clearly showed two large characters—”Domesticated.”

What the hell? It sounded like a pet.

He instinctively looked toward the queue at the bubble tea shop entrance and sure enough, as he answered the call, he saw Wen Yu in the queue looking at him.

“Hello? Xiao Han, can you bring my phone over?” he said on the phone. “I think I took the wrong one.”

Fu Yuhan squinted.

“Hm?” Despite the considerable distance, Wen Yu had somehow made out his expression and couldn’t help asking, “What’s wrong?”

“Can you tell me… what the hell ‘Domesticated’ means?”

“Ah.”

A low laugh came from the other end of the phone. Fu Yuhan watched from afar as he lowered his eyes and curved the corners of his lips, then looked up, his gaze steady across the crowded area around the mall.

“At first it was ‘Stray Cat,’ because you were silent and loved to scratch people. When I wanted to pursue you, it was ‘Planning to Adopt.’ Now I’ve brought you home.” Wen Yu laughed softly. “Isn’t this contact name good?”

“I really don’t see how I’m related to that kind of furry creature…” Fu Yuhan thought about it and said, “I’m not that cute.”

“You are.” Wen Yu said quickly. “If I say you are, then you are.”

“However,” he paused, “I didn’t expect your contact name for me to be so… proper.”

He’d only just discovered when trying to make the call that Fu Yuhan’s contact name for him was simply “Wen Yu,” and it was filled in particularly neatly with the two characters in the “surname” and “given name” fields of the contact list respectively, as if he had some kind of compulsion.

“I’m used to putting full names for everyone’s contact info, so I didn’t think much of it.”

“Me too.” Wen Yu said, lowering his voice a bit. “Only your contact name is different.”

His tone was flat, but it sounded like he was acting spoiled.

Fu Yuhan sighed: “Wait, I’ll bring your phone over.”

He hung up and turned to look at the four people who’d just arrived.

The expressions on their four faces were quite something—three were dumbstruck, one had a subtle look.

Fu Yuhan, when speaking or doing things, always carried an aloof aura that kept strangers at bay. During middle school, right at the peak of his chuunibyou phase, there was often a group of social “delinquents” hanging around their school. Although the school was strict, accidents would happen over time.

Fu Yuhan had actually beaten people off once after school, to save a thin, weak boy from their class who was being shaken down for money.

After that, he became famous at school.

That title “Fu-ge” carried both respect and fear. Chu Lei and the others knew there were quite a few girls at school who liked Fu Yuhan but didn’t dare approach because of his aura and the rumors. This group had known each other for as short as six years, or as long as Yang Fan’s dozen-plus years, and they’d never heard him speak like this before.

At first they thought Fu Yuhan had secretly started dating someone, but following his line of sight, at the end of that direction was Wen Yu.

Although the bubble tea shop was some distance away, they could still clearly see who the person over there was.

Chu Lei said dazedly: “Fu-ge…”

“Are you two…” Yang Fan picked up the thread, looking at him with a raised eyebrow.

“Ah,” Fu Yuhan suddenly remembered Yang Fan was in the know. Very casually, he curved a smile. “Yeah, I never told you guys—I’m gay, and Wen Yu and I are together.”

Chu Lei: “…”

Pi-qiu: “…”

Beanpole: “…”

Yang Fan, however, had a moment of realization: “I knew it… no wonder.”

Fu Yuhan smiled, glanced at the three dumbstruck people, and waved the phone at them: “Yu-ge took the wrong phone, I’ll go over for a second.”

With that, he ran off, weaving through the crowd to the side of the queue, and handed the phone to Wen Yu: “What contact name do you want?”

Wen Yu didn’t answer, looking over at the four people standing in place: “What did you tell them?”

“Made an announcement.”

“Didn’t we agree before coming to tell them before going home? If you tell them this early and they can’t accept it, are we still playing today?” Wen Yu said this, but his face was smiling, without a hint of reproach.

“If we can’t play, we’ll arrange another day. What does it matter? If I didn’t even have the courage to tell them, I wouldn’t have chosen to be with you in the first place.” Fu Yuhan lowered his eyes, his fingers swiping at his phone screen a couple times. “Hey, what contact name do you actually want?”

“Whatever makes you happy.” Wen Yu looked at him. “Fu-ge really has guts—”

He seemed to never be trapped by the matter of coming out. When he said it, he said it, without the slightest hesitation.

Truly worthy of being Fu-ge.

Truly worthy of being… his boyfriend.

Wen Yu felt as if his fur had been smoothed, and he could barely remember that foolish mental journey from before when he couldn’t help but cause trouble for Fu Yuhan whenever he saw him standing with Yang Fan.

“My guts can get even bigger.” Fu Yuhan lifted his eyelids and looked at him with amusement.

“Hm?”

Fu Yuhan glanced at the people behind Wen Yu.

The people in front hadn’t turned around, but the two young ladies queuing behind had been staring at them for quite a while. Seeing Fu Yuhan look over, one of the bolder girls even struck up conversation: “Little gege, are you two a couple?”

“Yeah.” Fu Yuhan gave them a faint smile.

Then he leaned in, and before Wen Yu could react, brushed his lips and lightly kissed him.

This kiss was as soft as a feather passing by—

Not only the two young ladies, even people further back in line who saw this scene widened their eyes. Wen Yu himself was so shocked he didn’t come to his senses for quite a while.

Fu Yuhan pocketed his phone, stretched out his long legs, and jumped down the steps, going back to find those four people.

“Wow… that’s so perfect.” One of the young ladies murmured, then patted Wen Yu. “Little gege, wishing you two happiness!”

Wen Yu blinked, instinctively smiling politely: “Thank you.”

Only then did he belatedly realize that before Fu Yuhan walked back, the phone in his hand had vibrated once.

He lowered his head to unlock the screen and opened the new message.

His boyfriend had sent him a contact list screenshot.

Above his own number was a completely different contact name.

—”Shit Shoveler.”

Author’s Notes: Today when I wrote “the side of the neck is an area rich in nerve endings,” I suddenly got stuck, not knowing if the statement was accurate, so I went through my entire messenger list and consulted all the medical students I could find.

As a result, they started explaining carotid sinuses to me, saying “pressure can cause fainting or even death, and when kissing, there’s also a probability of being this unlucky.”

Me: …

#Science students are really scary#

#I just wanted to write smut why are you telling me horror stories#
